What is the Watercooler?

It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.

All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.

UPDATE: No Gurren Lagann Tonight

Once again we've failed to look ahead. Gurren Lagann is not on tonight due to SciFi's all-day Land of the Lost marathon. Pierce the Fandom With Our Chat #10 will have to be rescheduled for next Monday, June 1.

Sorry folks. >3<

Why Study Industrial Arts?

Remember those bygone magical days you spent in shop class? Well, even if you didn't take it, take a lesson here in what it means to be on the leading edge of industry and construction (in the 1950s anyway). Be proud of yourself as a craftsman (and not a killer!) by watching this educational short, with appropriate commentary provided by Mike, Tom and Crow.

Have You Seen Him?: Response Video

I couldn't help but post this after that last one:

Movie Sign #41 - Terror from the Year 5000

What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.

What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.

Next Episode
Be ready for TERROR! when we head on out with Terror from the Year 5000! Professor Erling and his financial backer Victor build a prototype time machine to snatch objects from the past. Their latest find, a statuette, cardon dates to 5200 AD. Impossible you say? NEVAR! When this draws colleague Richard Hedges to the island lab, Erling reveals that 20th-century objects put in the machine seem to be "traded" for analogous future objects by intelligent life. And on the sly, Victor's been trying to get a living visitor, but the...thing...that comes from the exchange is a bit more than bargained for.

Host Segment Highlights
The Observers have grown tired of Pearl and Bobo, and so force the two in a fight to the death. Then the fey white aliens share their advanced food source, but Mike spices it up a bit by mashing them into his own recipes. Later, Mike's concern for his family have Crow venturing into the past to tell them he's alright, but the gold 'bot returns with stories of a girlfriend - "Ginger Sa-NAP!" But if that wasn't good enough, we're treated to an old chestnut entitled "When I Held Your Brain In My Arms".

Come join us! We don't bite, promise. Movie starts at 8pm EST/5pm PST, room opens at the :30 beforehand.

The password for the room is: seasnail. Get a head start on loading and find the video segments here.

Comment with your answer (spoiler-tagged) and the time taken to figure it out, or with a derogatory comment about math. No reading other people's tags!

I'll comment with the answer later, if people need it. Although if no one wants to play, I won't need to check back later! =D
