Higashi no Eden chat?
Nehsz gave me the idea of making a chat for this series. Every week we will watch the latest episode of Higashi no Eden (I will explain more about it in the next paragraph). If you need a new anime series to watch, then join us on Sunday night.
What is Higashi no Eden?
Higashi no Eden, also known as Eden of the East, is the newest Production IG series. It's directed by Kamiyama Kenji (Ghost in the Shell: SAC) and the character design is by Umino Chika (Honey and Clover). The story (I'm trying not to spoil most of the first episode) is basically about a young man who is challenging the nature of his country, and a young woman who watches over him in a period of eleven days. The whole series is 11 episodes. I thought it would be neat to watch an episode a week. It's a good series, and anyone who comes will most likely enjoy it.

FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood retells the story of the original FMA series, staying closer to the original manga storyline this time around. Despite this, it still follows the same basic plot: Edward and Alphonse Elric try to revive their dead mother through alchemy, and pay dearly for it- Edward loses his right arm and left leg, and Alphonse loses his entire body. Edward manages to attach Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor, and then has his limbs replaced with automail limbs. They then set out on a journey for the fabled Philosopher's Stone to return their bodies back to their original state...but they aren't the only ones searching for it....

Episode: 5: Rain of Sorrows - Ed is still mourning over the events of last week I still find myself rewatching the clip where Tucker gets his brains blown out by Scar... :D, but he doesn't have long to worry about this. Soon, the Elric brothers have other problems...like trying to survive.

What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Episode
It's our first cowboy movie here at Movie Sign when we swing on down with Last of the Wild Horses. Duke, a would-be stagecoach robber with a heart of gold, ends up working for the delightfully crusty Remedy. Duke is then enlisted to help the wild horse herds that have been raided by rancher Charlie Cooper, mediating an arrangement between Cooper and the other ranchers. But when Cooper is murdered and Duke is framed, our dashing hero goes on the lam, still trying to get to the bottom of the murder rap.
Host Segment Highlights
Mike shows his one robotic skill when he programs Tom and Crow to have different regional speech patterns to see how well they can communicate. Dr. Forrester interrupts the game with a new invention to test out on the crew - a matter transference device - but with the ion storm that's going on...it's time to play in the parallel universe!
Forrester and Frank are marooned in space and are subjugated to horrible movies by a Crow with a gnarly scar and his boss, a sexy evil Mike with a goatee. Tom and Gypsy are left with the bad guys while Frank and Forrester watch the movie. Things then switch around, where Mike and Crow are stuck with a power-hungry Servo and a Gypsy that wants to be a captain's wife. It's crazy chaos in both universes, and definitely an episode that should not be missed.

About the Anime Club
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. Rather than watching mainstream shows, however, we pick out good, yet lesser-known anime as an opportunity for people to enjoy new shows. Streaming links are usually provided for those without a copy of the anime.
Current Anime
Ichigo Mashimaro (aka Strawberry Marshmallow) is a comedy/slice of life with 17 episodes (12 ep. TV series, 3 ep. OVA, 2 ep. encore OVA) about sixth-grader Itou Chika (Chiba Saeko), her three friends Matsuoka Miu (Orikasa Fumiko), Sakuragi Matsuri (Kawasumi Ayako) and Ana Coppola (Noto Mamiko), and her big sister Itou Nobue (Nabatame Hitomi). It follows the day-to-day lives of the girls as they play, fight, argue, and work together, often with cute and hilarious results. There's no real story to speak of but the girls' overflowing adorableness will keep you smiling and the show's mix of conversational and slapstick humor will keep you laughing the whole way through.

Kanon (2006) is a 24 episode comedy/drama about Aizawa Yuuichi (Sugita Tomokazu), a boy in high school who, due to family circumstances, goes to live with his aunt, Minase Akiko, and cousin, Minase Nayuki (Kouda Mariko). It's been seven years since he visited and his memories of the city have since faded, but upon meeting Tsukimiya Ayu (Horie Yui) and other girls from his past, they slowly begin to return. The lighthearted comedy while Yuuichi teases the girls will make you laugh and the heartbreaking drama of traumatic events from both past and present will make you cry as the story unfolds.
