It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.
All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.
I really think no one should go through life without having read (or having read to them) Winnie the Pooh. Such fun, so lighthearted, and completely absent of pressure or worry.
Enjoy.

It's a quiet Sunday night, you've got nothing to do...why not join in on one of the best nights of Movie Sign? Whether for the host segments or shorts, their landmarks or quotability, January is favorites month here at MS. Join in and meet some crazy people!
What is Movie Sign?
Every week, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. We use episodes available on YouTube so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
It's a comedy show about a man and his robots, stranded in space and forced to watch some of the worst movies ever made as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, talk back to the films and riff on them.
Next Episode
A hulking chunk of muscle and random screaming teams up with the oldest princess in recorded history to defeat a Pat Riley-lookalike who plans an insurrection aboard a spaceship in the faraway future. Will our heroes overcome the burden of using laughably outdated technology and defeat the evil Kalgon?
Host Segment Highlights
While the Mads are imprisoned in ancient Rome, M&TB find time to brush up on encyclopedic knowledge, have tea, install railings, and beef up like our hulking hero.
Why is this episode classic? Well, among many things...
You know the date, so why not give it a go? Join us on Sunday and see what all the fuss is about! Movie starts at 8PM EST, room opens at 7:30.
The password for the room is: hardcheese
JANUARY MOVIE SCHEDULE finishes epically with:
01/25: Episode 424 - Manos: The Hands of Fate (w/ Short: "Hired!", Part 2)
Meet your fellow otaku and enjoy some anime at the weekly Anime Club in the Community Chat.
What's the Anime Club?
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. The anime will most likely be available on streaming sites since we're mainly going to stick to unlicensed shows. I hope the Anime Club will be a good opportunity for people to find new series and genres that they enjoy and for series to gather support for if/when they're licensed.
What are you watching?
We're currently watching episodes from two shows each week, Lovely Complex first and then Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I hope people will stick around for both but, if one of the series just isn't your thing, feel free to only drop in for the other.
Lovely Complex is a 24 episode romantic comedy that follows the unlikely relationship of Koizumi Risa (voiced by Okamura Akemi), a very tall girl, and Ootani Atsushi (voiced by Nagata Akira), a very short boy, as they work their way through high school. It's one of the best series in its genre that I've seen, with top-notch humor, some touching moments, and plenty of unexpected twists.
Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the 13 episode sequel to Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which we watched back in October 2008. It's even crazier than the first season, featuring all sorts of weird, twisted, and morbid humor. Click here to watch its opening.
When are the next episodes?
We'll be watching Lovely Complex ep5-6 / Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ep5-7 on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Pacific). The chat room will open a half hour early, around 9:30 PM Eastern, and the episodes will last about two hours altogether. We hope to see you there!
The password for the chat room will be: kawaiicheergirl
Maybe you've heard of RiffTrax, maybe you haven't. Basically, it's like Mystery Science Theater, but for the movies of today rather than the cheesebombs of decades' past.
For those interested, the guys of RiffTrax - Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett - will be doing a live-streaming of their latest short "Self-Conscious Guy" and then having a Q&A afterward this Thursday, starting at 9pm EST/6pm PST.
Since the page on their site is useless until then, I'll give you this niblet to hang on to. If you're a fan of Movie Sign or just have some time to kill, come check it out!
Meanwhile, I need to think of a good "who would win in a knife fight" question...
