What's the Anime Club?
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. The anime will most likely be available on streaming sites since we're mainly going to stick to unlicensed shows. I hope the Anime Club will be a good opportunity for people to find new series and genres that they enjoy and for series to gather support for if/when they're licensed.
What are you watching?
We're trying a new format where we'll watch episodes from two different shows each night. I hope people will stick around for both but, if one of the series just isn't your thing, feel free to only drop in for the other.
The first show is Library War, a 12 episode action/comedy series. It seems similar to Full Metal Panic! but with less mecha and more books. Click here to watch its opening.
The second show is Spice and Wolf, a 13 episode fantasy/drama series. It's somewhat slow-paced and doesn't have much action, instead focusing on the characters' interweaving relationships and ways of getting by in life. Click here to watch its opening.
When are the next episodes?
We will be watching Library War ep9-10 / Spice and Wolf ep10-11 on Saturday, December 20, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Pacific). The chat room will open a half hour early, around 9:30 PM Eastern, and the episodes will last about an hour and forty minutes altogether. We hope to see you there!

What's Movie Sign?
Every week, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. We use episodes available on You Tube so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
It's a comedy show about a man and his robots, stranded in space and forced to watch some of the worst movies ever made as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, talk back to the films and riff on them.
Next Episode
It's a holly jolly Movie Sign when we view Episode 521 - Santa Claus, a film that utterly wrecks everything you ever thought you knew about Christmas. Santa is an alien who lives in his castle in space above the North Pole. Instead of elves, his Toyland workshop is run by children from many (stereotyped) nations around the world... Getting freaked out yet? It doesn't end there: Santa's reindeer are mechanical, and Lucifer (yep, the Devil himself) sends his demonic minion Pitch to foil Santa's Christmas flight and turn the children of the world to evil. Did I mention this film was made in Mexico and has a really annoying narrator?
Host Segment Highlights
A caroling attempt ends in disaster; the SoL crew exchange inappropriate gifts; Mike and the Bots give a performance as the rock band Santa Klaws; the Bots arrange a reunion of Mike's family; the episode concludes with the heartwarming, politically correct holiday song "Merry Christmas... If That's OK".
