It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.

Ever since the birth of entertainment, there have been those with ideas, crazy ideas that change the very basis of these fiction worlds. These people we call the Fans, and their bastard creations we deem fanfiction.
Once they began their assault, there was no stopping them. The war was waged, several casualties on both sides. The Fans stood victorious on that battleground, to spread their devilish ways to all corners of the world.
Today, we continue to suffer from this curse. Our youth are plagued by it to this very day. Younger and younger they are taken from us! There is no fighting it. We are left with little choice: join their ranks or fight a losing battle.
And so I ask of thee, my fellows. Do you throw your lot in with the Fans or with the Flamers?
Do you support the slash of the Fans, or deny it?
Do you believe in self-insertion, or protest against such atrocities?
Worse still, do you spread the poison to the masses through these accursed fan-written spells?
Or, do your loyalties lie elsewhere and not with the Fans or the Flamers? Is there yet another army that is being raised?
Pray, answer me friends, I beseech thee! We haven't much time-!

Everyone give yourselves a pat on the back for helping make this place so popular, and keep the insanity coming.

Over on OB there is a thread about the Jonas Brothers, one of those kid-oriented pop groups Disney seems so good at making and spitting out on a conveyor belt.
All this talk of Disney groups got me reminiscing. You think we have it bad now with Hannah Montana? I remember when Disney first got into this game. It was the early 90s, and my sister was a big fan of The All New Mickey Mouse Club. Disney decided to put together a band from the club's members, and they became known as The Party (Positive Attitude Reflecting Today's Youth).
So, share my pain and watch this video, and marvel at the dancing and fashion that were such a part of that scary 1980s-1990s transitional period.

Well, I've been meaning to anyway. See, all these Gurren Lagann AMVs have been amazing, so I've decided to share my absolute favorite of the entire bunch. Ladies and gentlemen, here it is. I will warn you all, though; this video basically spoils the entire series in one go. If you don't want to be spoiled, finish the series first. That means you, dubbies.
