So you know the whole cupcake thing Bossman's been hung up on for a while? (If not, where in the Worlds have you been?) Well, I found an article that quotes cupcakes as being "fake happiness, wrought in Wonka unfood colors. They appeal to the same unadventurous instincts that drive adults to read Harry Potter and watch Finding Nemo without a kid in the room."
Ouch. Who knew cupcakes annoyed people outside this site? ^_~

What's the Anime Club?
The Anime Club is a weekly chat room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. The anime will most likely be available on streaming sites since we're mainly going to stick to unlicensed shows. I hope the Anime Club will be a good opportunity for people to find new series and genres that they enjoy, and for series to gather support for if/when they're licensed.
What are you watching?
We're currently watching Minami-ke, a thirteen-episode comedy/slice of life series. It features weird dialogue- and slapstick-based humor that fans of shows such as Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, or Ouran High School Host Club should enjoy.
When are the next episodes?
We will be watching Minami-ke episodes 4 - 6 on Saturday, September 6, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Pacific). The chat room will open about a half hour early, around 9:30 PM Eastern. Given three episode at twenty-four minutes each, they'll last about an hour and fifteen minutes. I hope to see you there!

What is Movie Sign?
Each week, we watch an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 while having a fun, spammy chat about it. We use episodes available on You Tube so everyone can watch simultaneously.
What is MST3K?
It's a comedy show about a man and his robots being forced to watch bad movies as part of a mad scientist's experiment. The man, Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, and the robots Tom Servo and Crow, watch real B-movies and riff on them, that is make jokes and talk back to the films.
Next Episode
Take a trek through the Louisana Bayou when we watch Episode 503 - Swamp Diamonds. In this slice of '50s fare, a cop goes undercover in a womens' prison with a plan to bust out a notorious gang that has a cache of stolen diamonds hidden in the swamp.
The film is preceeded by the instructional short What To Do On A Date, in which young Nick angsts over how to ask Kay out. As usual for these 50s shorts, a disembodied, authoritative voice provides the answers.
