What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.

Michele, a young woman who works at a dead-end job, is convinced by an obviously untrustworthy creeper, Buz, to go with him to Los Angeles, where he claims to have connections that can land her a job as a Go-Go dancer. The two head on out to LA, joined with a hitchhiker named Critter. But once there, Michele learns of the seedy underworld and wonders if it's really worth it.

Back in the day, WWJD bracelets were really popular, and so Crow has his own - a WWBSMD version. Pearl's trying to get accredited by the Institute of Mad Scientists, Crow tries his hand at being a biker thug, there's some strange robot dancing, and an odd lament of redundant love.

Shame on you all for not posting.
This past week finally marked the launch of Pokemon Black and White in the US, and while it has its own intense music, sometimes we could use with some remixes of the old. And that's where the Missingno Tracks come in!
It's a fanmade project of various 8-bit tracks from the games, mostly from Red/Blue era but with some beyond. They're really not that bad, and from a person not into hardcore techno, I quite enjoyed them too. They can be downloaded via torrent or as a .zip file.
Happy level grinding!

Ever-intrepid demi-god Hercules battles Proteus and rescues a beautiful princess. He takes her back to her home, the island of Atlantis, where her mother, Queen Antinea, believes in a prophecy that says if her daughter outlives her, then Atlantis will be destroyed. Of course, Antinea is attracted to Hercules, but first she must get rid of her daughter. How's Herc gonna save the girl and the day?

Gypsy wants to roll with the boys, and as such, managed to convince Joel to let her into the theater. Then they do some good-natured brawling, report the history of Hercules in a rather mean way, and show-off their rather unexciting Hercules action figure.

So I'm not sure if any of you still remember Blue Hawk from the old days of theOtaku. For those who do know, you probably know her back then as of the more active members in the site and one of my real-life classmates in high school. In recent years, she did set up her own World, though she isn't as active as she used to be.
Well, I just learned today that Blue Hawk just gave birth to a baby girl a few days ago. My first reaction was "What the...you were pregnant all these months?!" And then it sinked in. Wow, the Heero-obsessed otaku girl I knew in the past is now a mother.
So join me in congratulating Blue Hawk for giving birth to a healthy baby girl. May she, her partner, and her daughter live a prosperous life.
EDIT: My brother just pointed out this fact to me. Blue Hawk's daughter is named after Relena Peacecraft from the Gundam Wing series. She also has another given name along with Relina, but...wow. So she really is passing down the otaku gene.

There are no devils, and there are no fish, but in this quaint little Italian co-production, there is a tale of a "shark with tentacles" that is terrorizing the waters off the southern Florida coast. Frankly, just the mention of "tentacles" is enough to get me creeped out.
