It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.
All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.
Continuing with the holiday spirit, here is a humorous Christmas AMV featuring Ouran High School Host Club.
Unfortunately, there's a sound like someone playing their armpit that runs through the audio, but after looking through over a dozen AMVs with the same song, this one was still the best version.
Lend me your ears, .hack fans of theOtaku! I bear important news.
As all or some of you may know, the final .hack game in the franchise - .hack//Link - was released in Japan on March 4th, 2010. Since then we have not heard a word about a North American release date, let alone a license. And so, dothackers.net has begun their .hack//Link US campaign in an effort to get Namco Bandai's attention.
Namco Bandai has previously released all the other .hack games in the series, and all of them were on store shelves within nine months of the JP release date. With their recent company downsizing, there's a significant worry that they don't plan on licensing .hack//Link at all. Therefore, the purpose of this campaign is to grab their attention, as well as other important people.
All the information you need to know is on the .hack//Link US homepage, so if you're interested be sure to check out their site! Get involved through Facebook, Twitter, email, snail mail, etc. Simply posting and spreading the news on other sites and message boards is helpful too.
Please help out! Spread the word so we can experience the final story in the .hack saga!
What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Buh? Rewind?
A clever way for us to combat death, a "Rewind" session means we've watched the episode before and wanted to watch it again...so we are.
