What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.

Surf's up! We're traveling back in time to the heyday of beach party flicks as we watch The Horror of Party Beach. It's got the beach (east coast instead of Cali), lots of gratuitous dancing (wiggle wiggle wobble wobble), and oh yeah, flesh-eating monsters created from a toxic waste spill who prefer to prey on young women (don't they always?). It's up to Dr. Gavin and his assistant, the hunky Hank, to find a way to stop these monstrosities from destroying the town. Or perhaps Eulabelle, the ever-resourceful maid.

When in Rome, do as Romans do. Or perhaps impersonate gods, as in the case of Aperalo and Brainguyus. Everyone's ready for the manly beach party except Mike in his itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny... yeah, you get the idea. Trying to keep up the gods act, Pearl and Brain Guy have a jam session. Extra! Extra! Tom Servo plays newsie with up-to-date SoL newspapers! And finally the guys rock out a hip and educational song about sodium.
