It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.
All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.
There will be a meeting after MST Chat on the 6th. We'll try to confirm the number of people going, where we will be staying, how many rooms, and so forth. It was realized that Youmacon is kinda creeping up, and although we have talked about the planning for a few months now, nothing has actually been finalized. The purpose of this meeting will be to try to start setting things in stone. Please try to make this meeting if you are going, just so that there will be less confusion and conflict in the future.
Thank you!
And for those who are not going or are on the fence, here's what you'll be missing out on.

What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Episode
Once again we're saddled with a sixty-minute movie that requires two shorts to fill it out. The first, Money Talks, is the story of a dorky high schooler who is visited by the ghost of Ben Franklin and gets schooled in the ways of money management. The second, Progress Island, USA, is essentially an advertisement to lure people from the perfectly good United States to Puerto Rico. Finally the movie, in which Tor Johnson plays a scientist caught up in a nuclear blast that turns him into the beast of Yucca Flats. Lots of random killing and random narration as we hit up our second of the Coleman Francis trilogy.
