What's the Anime Club?
Similar to, but totally not ripped off from, the Movie Sign watch-and-chats that TimeChaser, Katana, and Shinmaru have been doing, each week we'll watch a few episodes of anime while chatting about them and whatever else we feel like. The episodes will most likely be available on streaming sites since we're mainly going to stick to unlicensed series. I hope this will be a good opportunity for people to find new series and genres that they enjoy, and for series to gather support for if/when they're licensed.
What are you watching?
The first series we'll be watching is Minami-ke, a thirteen-episode comedy/slice of life series. It features weird dialogue- and slapstick-based humor that fans of shows such as Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, or Ouran High School Host Club should enjoy.
When are the next episodes?
We will be watching Minami-ke episodes 1 - 3 on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Pacific). The chat room will open about a half hour early, around 9:30 PM Eastern. Given three episode at twenty-four minutes each, they'll last about an hour and fifteen minutes. I hope to see you there!

for me Batou has thought blue eyes and the blonde hair and the fact he is Batou so thats a win for be but what do you the people at theOtaku.com think?

What is Movie Sign?
Each week, we watch an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 while having a fun, spammy chat about it. We use episodes available on You Tube.
What is MST3K?
It's a comedy show about a man and his robots being forced to watch bad movies as part of a mad scientist's experiment. The man, Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, and the robots Tom Servo and Crow, watch real B-movies and riff on them, that is make jokes and talk back to the films.
Next Episode
We travel to the 1980s next time with Episode 516 - Alien From L.A. This movie stars long-time Sports Illustrated model Kathy Ireland in her first film role as a nerdy Cali girl who travels to the lost city of Atlantis on a quest to find her archaeologist father. Also starring William R. Moses (Perry Mason Movies)) as an underground denizen with a rediculous Australian accent.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the next Movie Sign on Sunday August 31, will have a later start time of 9:30 PM EST, with the room opening at 9. Since the following day is the Labor Day holiday, this won't clash with anyone who would otherwise have to go to school the next morning.
