What is Doctor Who?
A long-running British scifi TV series about a mysterious man called the Doctor, the last of the Time Lords, who travels through time and space in his TARDIS, a ship disguised as an old fashioned Police Box. The Doctor and his various companions explore the universe and battle evil wherever they encounter it.
This Week
Amy traveled with the Doctor five years ago. On the eve of the birth of her first child, the Time Lord returns for a visit... And then they wake up in the TARDIS. It was all just a dream... And then they wake up. Which world is real and which is the dream? Can they survive the Dream Lord's game?

I've always had one or two reasons for why I'd want to go to Anime North over in Toronto, Ontario. One is for a chance to maybe chill with a guy named enin, who happens to just be a really fun guy to chill with.
The other, which I have just learned . . . is that Anime North has cosplay wrestling. With a giant Elmo, no less.

While browsing through the DVR, I ran into an unlikely program on Turner Classic Movies: The Robot vs The Aztec Mummy!
So, uh, at 2/1.15 E/CST on Saturday morning, TCM is going to be running an un-MSTed version of The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy. If you want to see the original in all of it's (un)glorious-ness, or just don't like Tom Servo's first voice (it's the second episode of season one), there you go! :D Just thought I'd put it out there.

What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Episode
We're headed to the south yet again, except this time we have a professor and his students as our tourguide. Dr. Lockhart, a professor at the University of Arkansas that specializes in the study of the Boggy Creek Monster, decides to go off on a mission to find the beast with the help of some students. The further into the search they go, the weirder the people around them seem to get (well, it is the south), until the finally run into the backwater man that is Crenshaw. What's he up to, and what the heck is 'the little creature'? (And...do we want to know?)
Host Segment Highlights
The SoL has started a Cub Scout den - "BOBCATS! DO OR DIE!" but the boys club gets crashed by a Brownie in an unusual 'bot. The 'bots demonstrate how they can distort flashbacks while Pearl has an idea to cash-in on fabled monsters, offering us with a song (courtesy of Brain Guy) and merchandise to boot. Then Servo turns power-hungry executive himself by taking a quick shot we see of a whittler in the movie and making it corporate.
Whether a seasoned vet or new meat, we invite you all to come on down! Movie starts at 8pm EST/5pm PST, room opens at the :30 beforehand.
