What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, Twe nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Episode
A nuclear test goes wrong - like they always do - and causes a man to grow to great heights in our next film. Lt. Col. Glen Manning is the poor subject of said result, and as such ends up shooting to a height of fifty feet. His fiancee Carol is determined to be with him and get a cure, but the army and doctors are wary if there is a way. And with Glen slowly growing mad, that cure can't come fast enough.
Host Segment Highlights
There's no humans allowed in Crow and Tom's super-duper awesome fort, which is kind of a shame since the show isn't much without them. After being forced out, the crew talks about ways to cheer up Glen's fiancee, but maybe the cheer goes too far, since Joel ends up delusional and agonizing over being a fifty-foot man himself. Glen himself stops by for a visit, but in typical fashion, they find a way to tick him off.
