What's the Anime Club?
Similar to, but totally not ripped off from, the Movie Sign watch-and-chats that TimeChaser, Katana, and Shinmaru have been doing, each week we'll watch a few episodes of anime while chatting about them and whatever else we feel like. The episodes will most likely be available on streaming sites since we're mainly going to stick to unlicensed series. I hope this will be a good opportunity for people to find new series and genres that they enjoy, and for series to gather support for if/when they're licensed.
What are you watching?
The first series we'll be watching is Minami-ke, a thirteen-episode comedy/slice of life series. It features weird dialogue- and slapstick-based humor that fans of shows such as Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, or Ouran High School Host Club should enjoy.
When are the next episodes?
We will be watching Minami-ke episodes 1 - 3 on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Pacific). The chat room will open about a half hour early, around 9:30 PM Eastern. Given three episode at twenty-four minutes each, they'll last about an hour and fifteen minutes. I hope to see you there!
