LittleBigPlanet... Or Skynet?!

Alright, I have to share this one . . . my duty as both a PS3 owner and a guy who has no qualms with crapping his pants over things of epically awesome proportions.

Alright, here's the premise . . .

New game coming out for the PS3 this month called LittleBigPlanet. It's a basic side-scroller of "get from point A to point B" that features crazy cool physics-based puzzles and the like. More importantly, though, it will feature a lot of network-based sharing and multiplayer capabilities. What are people sharing? Levels you can create yourself with all the physics the game gives you, be they platforms, objects, levers, pulleys, or what have you.

If you really want more info, Wiki link is here and half of a level demo is here.

So how far can you actually go with the level-creator and the physics of the game? Well, one Beta tester made a calculator . . .

He basically made an adding machine out of... 610 magnetic switches, 500 wires, 430 pistons, 70 emitters and more. All using the in-game physics and rules. And this was only with the beta version of the game!

This game could very well nuke us all once it becomes self-aware . . .
