It's March, and you know what that means! ...You don't? Um, neither do I. But apparently, it's Movie Sign Madness, which means...what? Who knows, it's catchy!
What is Movie Sign?
Every week, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. We use episodes available on Google Video so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
It's a comedy show about a man and his robots, stranded in space and forced to watch some of the worst movies ever made as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, talk back to the films and riff on them. You can read up on the show over at the SoL.
Next Episode
Want to get "a head"? Then join us for The Brain That Wouldn't Die. When a surgeon with questionable ethics and his fiance wind up in a car accident, she loses her head. What does he do? He saves it, of course! With his secret life-giving elixir, he keeps her head alive while he goes about the sinister (and sleazy) task of procuring an innocent victim he can use for a body transplant. But all is not well back at the doc's lab, where one of his previous experiments is desperate to get out of the closet (literally).
Host Segment Highlights
It's Mike's first day on the job, and the 'bots are putting him through the wringer! Between quip-training, hat projects, and embarrassing stories of the past, our new host has a lot to go through. Hang in there buddy (you've still got five and a half seasons to go)!
You know the date, so why not give it a go? Join us on Sunday and see what all the fuss is about! Movie starts at 8PM EST, room opens at 7:30.
The password for the room is: newmeat. Get a head start on loading time and find the episode here.
