Five years is a long time
Soooo, five years ago today my family moved from Germany to Washington State. I have lived here for five whole years! That's unbelievable! Before now I'd never lived anywhere for five years before... But, to tell the truth, I'm ready to move. I've set down to many roots here. That's a bad thing when you can get orders to move and be gone in two weeks. I mean, I didn't mean to set roots, but I did...
I'm about to start ripping up those roots. I've done it before, I can do it again. Thankfully I don't have any really close friends anymore. I don't want any! Friendship only causes hurt in the end. Next I have to quit getting devoted to groups that I can't leave. Which means no more Drama Dragons for me! Next year I will not join, then that's one root ripped up. My deepest root runs with Ft. Nisqually... I love volunteering there, and I love the history! But, I've made to many friends, and I've gotten to attached!
What about you guys? DO you allow yourselves to set roots? Why or why not? And how long have you lived at the place you live right now?
