“This must be it,” Luna observed,” Howling Falls.
We stood only a few feet away from a magnificent waterfall, with sparkling water flowing down it. We had never seen the waterfall before, only heard of it, so it was quite a sight for the both of us. The Falls was unlike any other waterfall we had seen; it was far more beautiful than any other. It held the qualities of a typical waterfall, but for some reason it seemed to own a special quality of its own.
Like many waterfalls, it stood tall and proud. Different sizes of rocks jutted out from behind its waters, dividing the flowing water into sections at each rock. The water all came down to meet at one part, which formed a small lake, and a river ran from that lake. The river and lake were surrounded by lush green grass, and trees formed themselves along the edges of the river.
On the side of the river that we stood on, a rocky path led up slowly around and behind the water of the waterfall. The rock path also led to the other side of the river, so whatever was behind the water was accessible from both sides.
“Is anyone even here?” I asked Luna. We both took a look around, searching for any forms of nagual life.
“Leanne, look.” I glanced at Luna when she said my name to see that she was pointing at the peak of the waterfall. I tilted my head upward to see what she was pointing at. At the very top of Howling Falls stood a white wolf. The wolf stood atop a large triangular shaped rock that stuck out from the Falls.
“Do you think that’s one of our friends?”
“Only one way to find out,” Luna replied. “Hey!” She called to the wolf. The wolf looked down in our direction. “Yeah, you up there! Come down here!”
The wolf began its descent from the waterfall, hopping from rock to rock until it reached the bottom in only a matter of seconds and trotted over to us. The white wolf shifted to reveal its human form to us.
“Hey, long time no see you two.”
