“What we really came to Soule for?” I questioned, confused.
“I understand that you traveled here because you no longer have a home, but you must also have come for something much more complicated than that. I also know that you -or at least Luna- aren't into happy family reunions, which would actually be a reason to avoid coming to Soule. So tell me then, why did you come here?”
“But I thought-” I began to say until Luna cut me off mid-sentence.
“Nothing ever slips past your mind Sieve. You're spot on. We didn't come here mainly for a home, and especially not for some kind of joyous reunion. We came here....because we need all of your help to uncover the roots of our shifting problem.”
“Ah, yes,” Sieve replied, closing her eyes in thought, “I figured it was something of that sort.”
“We don’t know where to look for clues that could help us with our search. However, with all of your brains combined, we may come up with some good ideas,” Luna continued. “So, what do you propose?”
“Hold on a second there,” Sieve said before anyone else could comment. She looked to the veranda window. “Shouldn't we be going to bed? It's pretty late.” Everyone looked to the window as well, seeing the time of day. It was dark, and the only light visible was from the lanterns that bordered Soule's walls, which were always lit. This meant that it was night outside, and everyone was either asleep or tucked away inside their homes.
“Oh, you're right. I completely lost track of time,” Luna said sheepishly.
“Well, I’m sure this talk can wait until tomorrow. As of now, I'm going to head back to my room, said Sieve. She headed for the door and waved back at us. “Nice seeing you two again.”
“Bye Sieve,”I called back to her while waving.
“I should be going as well. Give me a holler if you need anything or have any problems,” Riku informed us and left as well. There was a moment of silence as Nero still remained in the room, and didn't appear to be going as he should be.
“And then there was one,” Luna hinted at Nero, hoping that he would leave. Instead Nero glanced around the room.
“Hmm...I'm sure I can stay here,” he said to himself.
“No vacancy sorry,” Luna replied, her voice devoid of an apology.
“There's room, but where would you sleep?” I asked him genuinely.
“Let's see...three people, two beds,” he pondered. “I call Luna's bed!” He shouted, running for her bed.
“Oh no you don’t!” Luna exclaimed as she grabbed Nero by the back of his jacket collar, forcing him to stop in his tracks. “There is no way on earth you're.....you're leaving right now, whether you like it or not!” Luna turned him around and pushed him out of the quarter's door.
“Hey, come on now! It wouldn't be that bad you know! I can keep you nice and warm!” Nero pounded on the door, wanting to get inside, but Luna locked the door.
“I'm plenty warm by myself,” Luna glared, though he could not see it. Nero gave up on pounding on the door, and mumbled to himself out in the hallway. His mumblings became softer as he walked away from our door, and Luna, seeing as to how it was safe, came back into our bedroom and sat down on her bed.
“Peace and quiet...” she said as she fell onto her back,” finally.” I let out a big yawn in response to her.
“Oh! I didn’t even realize I was tired until just now,” I said, covering my mouth with my hand. I looked out at the window for a moment, out into the darkness and light before settling comfortably into my bed. I turned on my back and glanced up at the ceiling. “Where did the day go I wonder?”
“Reuniting with everyone...”Luna replied with a bit of grumpiness in the tone of her voice.
“Oh yeah...that was great.” Luna sat back up, got off of her bed, and started walking towards the bedroom door. I was about to ask her what she was doing until she hit the light switch, turning the lights off. The room became pitch black, except for the faint light emitting from the window. I could only make out a dark shadow of Luna as she made her way in the darkness back into her bed.
“It's time we turned in for the night,” she said. “Night Lee.”
“Goodnight Luna!”
