Chpt 18- Full Moon Crisis

The moonlight shone into Leanne and Luna's room in an eerie way. Night had fallen quickly, and the moon sat high in the sky above Soule. Luna lay awake in her bed and looked over at Leanne, who was sleeping peacefully, her breathing slow and steady. Luna couldn’t fall asleep, troubled. She stayed there for a few minutes, thinking to herself, until temptation got to her and she got up. She headed for the veranda a few feet away from her bed, and picked up her sword on the way, opening the sliding door as quietly as she could and slipped out, sliding the door closed behind her. Once out on the veranda she looked up at the rocky ceiling of Soule and saw bits of the moon through cracks in the rocks. The moon appeared to be full, but its size was indeterminable from where she stood.

“Only one way to find out,” Luna mumbled to herself. She jumped from the veranda to the ground, keeping close to the wall and using her sword to keep her speed steady on the way down. If she were to hit the ground too fast, her feet would suffer from shock, risking injury, which she couldn’t have, not tonight. Luna's feet brushed the ground, barely making a sound. She walked towards the passageway that led out of Soule, entered it, and emerged outside, immediately bathed in the light of the full moon. She gazed up at the sky and sighed. “Now..time to do a job that only I can do,” she said to herself. Then she strapped the sword onto her waist, shifted, and ran toward Nahai City

Once Luna reached Nahai, she shifted into a human and walked all the way from the outskirts to the center of the city to the front of the castle. Two guards were positioned on either side of the huge door, surprisingly alert for being on the night shift.

“Not getting in that way,” Luna said to herself. She sneaked around to the left side of the castle, searching for an easier way to enter, when she spotted a window that was cracked open slightly. Luna began walking towards it. “Easy access,” she mumbled. “I cant believe the security around here, they have guards, but yet leave a window open, which would be no problem to pry open, squeeze through, and sneak in...”

“What do you think you're doing here, wolfie?” A voice said behind her. Luna stopped and turned around to face the stranger who emerged from the shadows.
