This is a poem I wrote a few years ago. Its kinda lame... but you might like it. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome.
You don’t really know me,
And you never will.
Every time I see you
My heart stands still.
You stand in the doorway,
Run your fingers through your hair,
Swaying to the music.
I can’t help but stop and stare.
We listen to the beating drums,
Cruise through the town.
I can hardly wait
Till next time you come around.
You gently hold my hand
As we watch the sunset bright.
It is you I’m thinking of
When I smile at night
There is so much I could tell you,
So much you should know.
But I have to be sure
It’s not all for show.
Someday you’ll see inside me
And I’ll know that it’s for real
But unless you can love me
I know you never will.
