"Carrot Top, this is Twitch. Do you have the taget withing sight?"
A young red haired girl ran lightly across the roof tops of the city as she tracked the huge fire lizard craching around below her.
"Copy that, Twitch. Good gods,Tam, this thing is HUGE! It's making a beeline strait for you and Mina, so be ready. Boss Man, you're plan is working. Ugly down there is headed for the Mouse Hole."
"Don't ingage it unless nessicary, C.T. This is your fist Hunt, so we don't want you getting hurt. Boss Man out."
The young girl sighed in frustration.
Great. Look where this stupid book got me. Chaseing a damned Salamandria monster.
She continued to track the lizard below her, her ice blue eyes following it's heavy, jerky movements. Suddenly, it turned from its present course and began to trundle down another street with surprising speed.
"Crap.... Tam, it changed directions! It's going down to Jackson Park!"
Several swear words met her statement angrily.
"Shoot... Are you sure??"
"Yeah! I'm gonna try to lure it back. Be with you in a tick."
"Carrot Top, don't do anything stupid! C.T., are you listening to me? Skyler!"
The girl, Skyler ignored the frustrated voice blaring in her ear as she swung from the roof top to the street below. Dashing into a butcher shop, she broke the glass to one of the counters and hoisted a big slab of raw meat onto a think, wooden pole. She ran back out onto the street, struggling to hold the meat up as she dashed behind the monster.
"HEY, HOT HEAD!!" she yelled, waving the meat around franticly, "OVER HERE!!! LOOK WHAT I'VE GOT!"
The monster halted, its body swinging around as it smelled the meat. When it spotted the red head waving the meat around on a that huge stick, it roared and began to stalk her. Skyler took off running down the street, trailing the meat behind her as she ran to the ambush site.
"Skyler, what in hell's blazes are you doing??" a new voice yelped in her ear.
"Chill, Boss, I'm leading it Twitch and Nekari's way. It went off down another street, and I'm leading it back."
"Skyler, you could be killed! Stop this instant and get back up to safety!"
"Sorry Boss, I can't! I'm almost there! Besides, it's too late for that now!"
"Skyler, so help me God, of you don't-"
Boss was cut off by the monster's ear-shattering roar. Skyler snuck a glance over her shoulder. Sure enough, the monsters attention was all on her, shammbling after her as she sprinted dow the street.
"Twitch! It's here! Trigger the trap!"
"I can't, Idiot, you're still in there! Get out of- Skyler! To you're left!!! LOOK OUT!!!"
