I’ve pretty much had the room to myself since Saturday and I’ve been taking full advantage of it~ Sleeping in my boxers, naked yoga, the works~ Best of all I can get that completely-alone kind of sleep you can only get when you’re, well, completely free from a roommate. Freedom feels so relaxing~
I’ve been hunting for jobs, as usual. I sent off for a copy of my birth certificate on Friday so I should be hearing back from them in a couple of days. I should also have the results of my blood test and my glasses around the same time, if not earlier, too.
I went to a café on Sunday to meet new people and such. The sis set it up and sold it as “A gay café where you can make gay friends.” Not gaycist at all, right? Turns out what she meant was that it was a café predominantly frequented by hipsters and lesbians. Oddly enough it was funner than it sounds, mostly because they all had very English accents. I got my palm read and we talked about training animals to kill men. I also learned that the city has a gay quarter, which was odd, because the last time I was here is was mostly full of crime and oppression. I guess gay districts prevent crime?
I don’t have much planned this week, mostly because I’m broke from buying glasses. I have to go up town on Thursday but that’s about it. The rest of my time will be spent waiting for phone calls.

I’ve been trying my luck at job hunting lately but with little avail. My main problem so far is a lack of valid ID. I need a copy of my birth certificate because my passport photo is so drastically different from how I look now that I can’t use it as a valid ID while job hunting (Got me through three international airports though.) and I won’t be able to afford a copy of that until next week. I also need references, and finding teachers from my era that are still in the area is like pulling teeth. But, with any luck, I should have that done with on Monday. I also need to get my US diploma converted to the GCSE equivalent, and that’s gonna set me back around £55, and I only get £99.27 every two weeks and that has to cover rent and transportation. @.@
So far I’ve been able to apply for three jobs, soon to be four tomorrow. Once I have references I’ll be able to apply for a hell of a lot more online. I’m also planning on getting training for minor qualifications (Food Safety Certificate, CPR training and Management courses) to help boost my CV. It’s a bunch of crap I already know, but it counts for shit if you lack the authorised certification.
I went to the doctors on Wednesday for a check-up. Since they lost my records, we had to start a new one. They took my height, weight and blood pressure. (6ft 66.4Kg and relatively good~) and this Thursday they’re gonna do a blood test to determine my cholesterol levels and such. I also have an eye exam the same day, roughly an hour later. Should be fun~
Since I’m broke, I’ll likely spend my Halloween inside, playing Left4Dead 2. How about you~?

I did a little shopping today and got some new boots and socks and about 400 matches so I can light the oven rings without burning my thumb on a lighter. The boots are nice and black and, most importantly, waterproof~ It must have rained 1/3rd of the time I’ve been here and my other shoes tend to act like a sponge in torrential downpours.
Tomorrow I’m going up town to give a copy of my CV to two potential employees; a YMCA store that is in need of an assistant manager/manager and a grill restaurant that needs both cooks and serving staff. Hopefully I’ll get the kitchen job, grilling is a hell of a lot easier than trying to decipher the four different accents the people of this city seem to have. I might buy some new underwear and a cardigan while I’m up there. Maybe some dress pants, too.

I had an interesting night last night.
It all started around five-ish. The sis and I caught a bus up town then another bus to her girlfriend’s house. While we were there they straightened my hair, turning me into a darker looking vers...

I've slowly been getting things in order since arriving. On Tuesday I co-signed the sis' housing bid and on Wednesday I called the aid office to see if I qualified for assistance with finding a job (Which I do~) so they should call me back sometime today to arrange an in-person meeting so I can sign on and collect a £100 check which will go towards rent and transportation.
I'm going to apply for a job at a local cake factory tomorrow as well as open a bank account. Ill probably end up hanging out with one of the sis' friends while we're at it. For some reason all of her friends are interested in seeing me. It's odd.
The sis wants to take me to the local gay club next Saturday. Her girlfriend also wants to straighten my hair so I figure ill kill two birds with one stone. Ill take photos and might post 'em on here if they come out well enough.
The food here is upsetting my stomach, like when I first arrived in America. Different soil/water and all. Hopefully ill get over it before my big night out.
