Nearly Tased.

I was part of a police standoff on Saturday. SWAT was involved and everything. No bullshit, I'm completely serious. I was nearly hit with a non-lethal round.

Ill explain.

Saturday started out rather peacefully. I got to lay in til 1, I moved the lawn and cooked some home-made hamburgers, the kind with onion soup mix inside 'em. Well, turns out that while I was cooking, the stepdad clipped an illegally parked car with his mirror. The owner got pissed, followed him home, parked behind the truck, called the police and told 'em that the stepdad had a gun and was making threats.

Fifteen minuets later, 30 cops and a SWAT team appeared and surrounded the house.

First the stepdad went out and talked to them from the porch. He told 'em that he was unarmed and didn't have a gun. As a retort, the officers asked him if they could pat him down, which he bluntly refused. This back-and-forth went on for a while before the police asked me to step outside. So I did.

My hands were up and I moved slowly. I sat on the banister of the porch with my hands stretched out at my sides, my palms placed on it. The stepdad had lasers on his chest, I likely had some on my back.

We we're surrounded so I asked him to do what they said before it escalated. He was a bit drunk so, thinking he was in the right, he didn't wish to comply. This went on for a while as the police tightened the nus. The officers who approached from behind gestured for me to come towards 'em. I told 'em that he was unarmed, but they didn't believe me because he was behaving irrational. Not that I can blame either side. He was unarmed but not willing to comply with the police. Stupid and stubborn.

I asked the stepdad to follow instructions one last time before I walked towards the police at our front, hands in the air as I took slow steps. Once I reached an officer, he patted me down, came to the conclusion that I was unarmed and told me to sit next to the green car a bit further down the road. Once I sat down, the hit the stepdad in the chest with a rubber bullet/sandbag and took him into custody.

Once he was away, they called me back up and asked me to follow them in the house as they did a sweep for other people and weapons. I told them that the little one was tied in his bed (Medical thing, he has a feeding pump running all night but moves about a lot.) and that we had no weapons. Their sweep confirmed that I was telling the truth.

Once they had the little brother and finished their sweep, they handed him to me to take care of as we walked down the road to where their make-shift hub was. There they made sure I was fully capable of looking after the little one (Which I am) and that we had enough food in (Which we do). After this, they took us back, took some photos of us and the house, gave us some contact info, made sure we we're fine and went on their way.

They arrested the stepdad for vehicle damage and resisting arrest. I learned of the chargers today.

I had to watch the little one all night last night but Aunt Diane is over to give me a hand now. I only got three hours of sleep last night, the only thing keeping me awake is ice cream cake and a 32 oz blue slurpy (First one in years). We can't afford the stepdad's bail but he should be out on Wednesday at the earliest.

We have enough food to last but if he isn't able to work, we might have to move to one of the Aunt's places. Hopefully Dian's, she's the better aunt of the two (No offense, Wendy~)

I warned the stepdad that things would escalate if he didn't comply, but he didn't listen. The fact that he put me and the little one in such a situation is unacceptable. I wish to stay in this country but I won't be able to if he's locked up.

I'm gonna see if we can press chargers against the guy who called the cops. His false statement caused such a high-rate situation.

I won't have internet access next month.

I'm also writing this down while it's fresh in my mind in case I need it later.

Yoji~
