Hehe! How's it going? I'm trying to post more often so...now I'm here. Fun!
Yeah well, anyways. Nothing much has been happening. I'm still working on the writer's site. I have four articles planned out: two for rules, a article to help with stories, and the Mary Sue article. I went to the library yesterday and asked the librarian where the "how to write" books were. I stood there and took any book that looked interesting off the shelf. So, with six books in my hands, I sat down at the table and flipped through the books to see if I had something I could use. I tried to get the most recent books, because some of them where dated back to the '60s. Yeah, the general writing style has changed since then. I was about to leave when my friend came and started talking to me. If you know me, I listen better if I keep my hands busy. (Heh, this drives my teachers and parents nuts 'cause it seems like I'm paying less attention to them. In fact, if I don't keep my hands busy I start to daydream/tune them out; not on purpose, but I just do.) Well, I flipped through this book marked 1968 and started reading the table of contents. Well, the whole book consisted of general dos and don'ts. So came back with three helpful books to use as research...Cool! I'm still reading them.
Oh, several of you guys mentioned the not being able to comment and read posts. I've experienced the same thing as you guys so I'm like, "...what did they post again?" Yeah, bummer. I'm trying to find a solution, but nothing yet. It seems like if you open that link in a new window, then the comment box can't connect with the rest of the site. So that means that the comments and posts are intertwined. My only solution right now is to open the link in a new window/tab, type your comment, copy the comment when you're done, exit out of the tab/window, then open the comment box how your supposed to and paste. Doesn't sound simple, but it works.
Alright, I uploaded one pic to theO. Nothing necessarily new, but it's there. It's the Chibi Jonah pic in high quality. I found out how to scan lineart in HQ, and then how to convert the colored image to JPEG in HQ. Cool! (OMG, I think my German Latin Teacher is rubbing off on me. For those of you going "Huh?", she's a German who came to America to teach Latin...Interesting... She says like the [insert name here], "cool" as a sentence, and "shmack". Yes, she shamcks students Haha, not literally. OMG, I'm too "good" at anecdotes. Anyways,) I changed the hair, skin, and eye color. It's has softer colors, which I like 'cause it's not as bold. Easier on the eyes. Speaking of eyes, I changed them from blue-grey to green. I withhold the reasons for the time being. I'm afraid you guys will think it's Mary Sueish if I told you. Anyways, Check it out!
Alright, questions!
Answered questions:
1) Does anyone know where to submit stuff? I can't find it. They need a help page!
Answer: I found it...in the place I would never look. (Duhr! )
2) Does anyone know how copyright laws work? I tried to find out to see if I can get some stuff copyrighted, but reading things equivalent to legal documents just made my head hurt.
Answer: I meant for one's own stuff to get copyrighted. I'm not gonna worry about it right now. I don't have the money, anyways. (Lawyers and stuff)
3) Just a head count, who would like to join the writer’s group once I get it running? Or, who would like to read the articles on it, for non-writers? Don’t worry, you won’t hurt my feelings if you say no. ^_^ I just need to get a glimpse of who the audience might be.
Answer: Thank-you all who supports the group. For those who aren't interested, than you for even just considering it. It means a lot.
New Questions:
1) Any suggestions for content in the Mary Sue and/or Story Writing articles?
2) The other two articles are rules: "Rules for Readers [who read articles on the writer's site]" and "Rules for Writers [who submit things for publication on the writer's site]". "Rules for Readers" will probably be easier, but what do you think some of these rules should be?
Bye-bye for now!
