I smiled down at Kaoru as he came to. "You ok Kao-Chan?" I asked him gently. Arashi, Kaoru, and I were sitting out on the porch, as I wanted to get out of that room, as far away from him as I could go. Sadly, I had been only able to go this far.
Kaoru sat up, rubbing his head. "My head hurts..." He noticed Shino wasn't around. "What happened to Shino-Nii and Ai-Nee?!"
I wanted to comfort Kaoru. He had taken such a beating. He had been hurt so badly, yet he always looked out for others more than himself. I stroked his head, the only thing I really could do. "It's ok Kao-Chan. The meeting ended and we were allowed to leave."
Arashi shook his head. "Shino's still there though."
Kaoru looked surprised. "He is?"
Arashi nodded. "Don't worry Kaoru. I'm sure Shino can take care of himself. He knows better than all of us how to handle Kanayuki-San."
Kaoru nodded, but I could tell that he was still worried. It was just in his nature to worry about others more than his own health. I stood up, pulling Kaoru to his feet. "You want to go get some food? It might make you feel a little better," I offered. "Shino will call when he gets out of there, I'm sure," I added when he looked like he wanted to stay.
Arashi nodded. "That might be good, let's try and get you're strength back up."
Kaoru finally caved, and we headed off of the main house's estate and into the city.

"When do you think Shino will get back?" Kai asked me as I was unpacking our things in our room. The last of the boxes had been brought, and we were settling into our new home.
I took the picture frame Kai was handing me and situated it on the bedside table, "Whenever he gets done with whatever it was he left to do," I answered honestly. I really wished he would get back soon. I wanted to properly thank him again. And, I felt a little awkward in the house with his parents after we so rudely imposed; I still felt so badly about that.
"I like Shino and those other two," Kai told me as he plopped down on the bed, sprawling out beside me.
I turned and pulled him into my lap, loving that he was still small enough to fit. I hugged him tightly to me, remembering how he had almost been taken away from me. I never wanted to let him go. "I like them, too. So, let's make sure we aren't a bother to them and help them whenever they need us!" I told him.
"Ya!" he said, fist pumping. I tickled his sides, and we were laughing. I enjoyed his laugh so much. I had missed it when I was studying in New York. I was so glad my life had taken me here.
