~Kaoru/Ox~
I was awakened by Watari bouncing up and down on my chest. "Nii-Chan!! NIIII-CHAAAAN!!!" I rubbed my eyes, and remembered today was my first day of school. I sat up quickly causing Watari to fall backwards. "AH!" I reached out and grabbed his hand and pulled him back up. He giggled. "Nii-Chan's funny in the mornings!" I sighed. At least he didn't hit his head. "Nii-Chan's gonna be late! Up up up!!!" I smiled and got up. "Thanks for the wake up Watari."
I ran downstairs to see my Papa trying to cook breakfast. His brown hair pulled back from his eyes in a cooking bandana. He was staring at a cookbook and trying to figure something out. When he saw me he smiled. "Morning Kaoru!" He looked back at the book and pushed his glasses up his nose in frustration. "Um...do you know if we have any chocolate chips?" I shook my head. "I think we finished them last time we had pancakes." He frowned. "D*mn....and I tried so hard to make everything perfect for your first day of school!" I ran over and gave him a hug. "It's ok Papa! Nothing can ruin this day!" He pat my head. "I'm glad to hear it!" I felt arms go around my leg and saw Watari hugging me too. "Nii-Chan gets to go to school!!!" I chuckled. Today was gonna be the best day ever!
"Oi! Kaoru! You ready?!" I looked to see Tatsuya at the door. He was in the uniform. My eyes widened. "I'M GONNA BE LATE!!!!" I ran to my room to put my uniform on. When I came back down Tatsuya and Papa were talking. I ran over and gave Watari a kiss on the head. Then I hugged my dad. "I'll tell you everything when I get home!!!" Papa and Watari stood at the door and waved.
"Watari's getting so big..." I nodded. "Yeah he's already 4! It's unbelievable!!! And he says such grown up things sometimes! I get soooo proud!!" Tatsuya smiled. "An...how has Kaede-Ojisan been?" I stopped. "Papa....he's been...happy." Tatsuya nodded. "I'm glad then." Me and Papa hadn't always gotten along...after mama died he hadn't known what to do with me. He used to yell at me a lot. But one day he was just better. He hugged me tightly and cried, saying he was sorry. I still don't know what happened.
On the way we ran into Desmond, Kirino, Yari, Madoka, Anora, Arashi, and Aibori. We were all going to school. It was our dream! We were outside!!! When we got there we all had to split up. Desmond, Tatsuya, Aibori and I went to the middle school. Kirino, Yari, Madoka, Anora, and Arashi went to the highschool. I waved as they walked away.
When I looked around there were lots of other kids here. I got a little scared. What if I bumped into a girl? Yuki-Nii would get angry. What if we couldn't go to school anymore?! Tatsuya elbowed me. "Chill out Kaoru. It'll be fine. Just be yourself." I nodded.
When I walked into my classroom everyone stared at me. Tatsuya was older than me so he was in a different grade and Desmond was younger than me. I was all alone here. I gulped and walked in. I picked a desk and sat down. "Sohma Kaoru." I jumped up and bowed. "U..Uh...Here!" He cocked an eyebrow at me. "What is with that hair style?!" My eyes widened. "U..uh...it's my...my natural color sir." His eyes narrowed. "How dare you lie to me! There's no way your hair is naturally white! And there are black highlights all through it! Go to the principal's office now!" Everyone snickered as I walked out. "Hehe what a baka!" "Yeah trying to pass that mop off as natural!" "He was bound to realize how stupid that was!"......Idiot.....I felt tears welling up.
Yeah...I was just the stupid cow...I rubbed my eyes and went to the principal's office. When I walked in he didn't believe me either. He yelled at me some more. Suddenly his door was thrown open. My eyes widened to see my Papa. "Ah...Mr. Sohma. I was just telling your son here that hair like that will not be tolerated! He must dye it back to his original color before he can set foot back in..." Papa slammed his hands down on the desk. I jumped a little. He was really mad. I hadn't seen him like this in awhile. "THAT IS HIS NATURAL COLOR!" The principal's eyes widened. "B...but...that's not." Papa pulled out something and threw it on the desk. The principal's mouth dropped. "I...impossible..."
Papa glared at him. "How dare you yell at my child on his first day in a school when he was telling you the truth! You should have just called me in the first place instead thinking you know everything!" The principal nodded. "I...I'm deeply sorry for the misunderstanding." Papa nodded. When he turned to me his anger disappeared and he smiled. "Do you want to come home today Kaoru?" I nodded. I took his hand and we walked back home.
"I'm sorry your first day was ruined like that...." I shook my head. "It wasn't just that....." He stopped, which jerked me to a stop as well. "What else happened today?" He had that scary tone in his voice again. "....everyone laughed at me.....they called me stupid...." I started to cry again. "I'll always be nothing but a stupid cow!!" Papa hugged me tightly catching me by surprise. "You're not a stupid cow! You're my smart kind hearted son! And I wouldn't want you any other way!" My fists tightened in his shirt. "Papa....I love you." He kissed my forehead. "I love you too Kaoru."
When we got home later that night I was helping Papa make dinner. "Oh yeah...Papa....what was it you showed the Principal anyway?" He smiled at me and pulled out the papers. "You adorable baby pictures of course!" I felt my face turn red. There was my bare butt picture of little white and blacked haired me as my Mama gave me a bath in the sink. Papa was smiling proudly. "D...did you have to show him that one..." He smiled even bigger. "Why of course I did! Look at how cute you were!" Watari giggled. "Haha Nii-Chan naykey! Nii-Chan naykey!!!" I blushed even harder and shook my head...but seeing Papa smiling like that made me smile too.

It was a long boring day without Aaralyn and Kai around. I sat in my room and picked on my guitar waiting for them to return.
~hehe so this post was more about a look at the life of Kaoru ^^;
His Papa is 28. but he looks like he's only 21. To outsiders he might be mistaken as a big brother. He has medium length brown hair and bright green eyes. He has glasses and a kind smile. He used to be a bad boy. Caused lots of trouble in school and even joined a gang. He got his wife pregnant when he was 15 and she was 16 and that was the day he changed. He walked right up to his gang leader and smiled saying he was gonna be a papa so he had to grow up and not get into trouble anymore. Then when they tried to beat him up he proceeded to beat all of them! Smiling and laughing the whole time saying 'I'm gonna be a Papa!' When Kaoru was born and they realized he was cursed Kaede and Kaoru's mom Yuriko decided they were going to love him all the more. When Yuriko died after giving birth to Watari Kaede was mean to Kaoru cause even with his cursed characteristics he looks like his mother. When he finally realized how he was hurting Kaoru he snapped himself out of it and went back to being the happy Papa. He was afraid Kaoru would kill himself cause he was all alone. He didn't realize how big an impact Watari had made on Kaoru.
