“Hello Anora. It’s nice to see someone I know in my class," I heard someone practically whisper. Turning, I saw it was a Sohma, the snake to be exact.
I smiled, "Hey, Madoka! It's nice to see someone I know here, too!" I turned in my seat and extended a greeting to Aaralyn. "Madoka, meet Aaralyn, my new friend. Aaralyn, this is Madoka, my cousin."
Aaralyn grinned. "Hi, Madoka! It's a pleasure to meet you!" She looked up at me. "Must be nice to have family members in your class. I don't have any cousins that I know about."
I nodded. "It makes the first day of school a lot less scary, right, Madoka?" I smiled over at him.
He nodded his head. He never had been one to talk very openly with people he didn't know. But, that was okay. He'd open up as he got to know Aaralyn a bit more.

It was getting close to noon when I was suddenly called to the office. I waved goodbye to Anora and Madoka as I left the classroom. I wondered what they needed me for. Was Kai alright? He wouldn't be getting bullied, would he?
As I neared the office, I saw Shino standing by the counter, talking to the secretary, who seemed completely smitten with him. He was smiling, so it couldn't be anything too serious.
I opened the door and smiled at the two as they greeted me. Shino pushed away from the counter and handed me a box. "You forgot your bento, and so mom made me bring you yours. I already dropped off Kai's."
I smiled. "Thanks, Shino! I really appreciate it!" It smelled so good. "You wanna share with me? You could eat lunch with me."
"Oh, I'm okay. You go eat with your friends," Shino shook his head, a smile on his face.
I shook my head. "I insist!"
"Are you sure it's okay with the school?" he asked me, and we both turned to the secretary. She was still staring at Shino, and so she just nodded her head in agreement.
"Then it's settled!" I exclaimed, grabbing Shino's hand and leading him out of the office. "We can go eat on the roof. It's nice and quiet up there. Perfect for eating lunch."
