Aaralyn
I smiled over at Shino as we ate lunch. It was really good. I had gotten lucky when I had met Shino. I was about to say so when he suddenly dropped his chopsticks.
Shino stood up, startling me. "What's wrong?" I asked, worried.
He was running for the door. "Something's wrong. I'll see you at home!" He disappeared out the door.
"Shino!" I called after him, leaving the food behind, I ran after him, nearly stumbling down the stairs. He had looked to be in pain. What was going on? I wasn't going to let him run off by himself. I wanted to help.
Shino was a lot faster than I was, but I wasn't so far behind that I couldn't follow him. He turned and went into a huge compound, what I knew to be the Sohma family estate. Sure, I lived on the estate with Shino, but this was the main house.
I stopped short, unsure of what to do. I didn't want to go in and cause more problems for Shino and the other Zodiac members, especially if their God was as strict as I imagined him to be. But, what if there was something that I could help with?
"Aaralyn?" came a voice.
Anora
I could feel a slight tugging at my heart, as though my chest was constricting. IT could only mean one thing. Kanayuki was in pain. Probably having one of his attacks. I wondered if that was why Arashi had left so suddenly. I deliberated for a few moments, wondering what I should do: stay in school or go to the house.
The last thing I wanted to do was be in the same house as Kanayuki, not after all he had done to me and the others.
But, I also didn't want Arashi going and facing that alone. Getting up, I headed to the mainhouse. All I would do is poke my head inside and see if Kanayuki was alright. I'd be so discrete that he'd have no idea I had even been there.
As I walked down the street, making my way closer to the main house, I noticed Aaralyn pacing back in forth in front of the house. I paled for a moment, wondering what she was doing there. Had she seen something? Was Kanayuki going to punish us because of her?
"Aaralyn?" I asked, stepping up behind her, startling her. "What are you doing here?"
She looked guilty. "I saw Shino go in there, and thought something was wrong, so I followed, but I didn't want to barge in."
"You know Shino?" I asked, confused.
She nodded her head. "I'll see if I can get Shino out here. I don't think you'll want to go in there. Not today anyway."
"Oh no, don't bother Shino. I don't want him to worry unnecessarily. Because you are here, I can rest easy," she smiled at me before turning, "I better get back to school."
I wondered about how much Aaralyn knew about us. How did Shino make friends with a nonzodiac member already? I walked into the estate and saw Arashi standing outside Kanayuki's room.
He seemed surprised to see me. "What are you doing here?" he asked. He seemed to understand how hard it was for me to come here willingly.
I stared at the ground. "I didn't want you facing him alone, so I came to be supportive for you." I'd talk to Shino later. Right now, I wanted to stay with Arashi.
