So, I was thinking that I haven't had a challenge in awhile, and maybe I should make one. And then I kept thinking...and came up with this idea. (Hopefully no one's done it already.)
For this challenge, you are to make a wallpaper. You can make it of any anime, video game, movie, whatever, so long as it follows theO's guidelines of appropriateness and whatnot.
The real catch in this challenge is that I want to see a haiku appear on the wallpaper, and I want you to write it. (Don't panic and run away yet! They're not that hard!)
You probably already know that haiku is an ancient form of Japanese poetry. The poetry does not rhyme, and has a set amount of syllables. Usually they appear in three lines, with the first line having 5 syllables, the second line having 7 syllables, and the last line having 5 syllables. It's really a beautiful form of poetry.
I promise you're totally capable or writing a haiku. :) And if you're feeling weird about it, just google haikus and read a few until you feel like you've got it!
So just so we're clear, here are the requirements I will expect from you:
1.) A wallpaper, obviously. Please make sure to include a widescreen version of it as well since hardly anyone has normal sized screens anymore. Make sure it's not pixelated or anything like that--artistic quality is important, as this is a wallpaper contest.
2.) A haiku you've composed on your wallpaper. It should fit with the theme of your paper.
3.) Your signature should appear somewhere on the wallpaper. This is for your own good--it's doubly yours since it has your poetry on it!
4.) Make sure you follow all of theO's rules. Obviously. >< Oh, and give your credits where you need to give them!
5.) Have fun with it! :) I can't really judge you on that...but I hope you will have fun with it. :)
If you have any questions, feel free to comment and ask. I'll get back with you quickly.
You have a full three months to work on this...mainly because I won't have time to judge them until May. ;)
I hope you enter! :)
Aurae~
P.S. A really good question was asked about how many times you may enter. You may enter as many times as you'd like, however, you'll only be able to win once. Does that sound fair? :)
Winners!
Winners are posted below, but let me say this--there wasn't a single inadequate wallpaper in that contest. Amazing work, all around--and as a poetry lover, I particular enjoyed all of your haikus. (So beautiful!)
Winners, if you'd like a wallpaper, card, or anything like that as a prize, just let me know. I'll try my best, although I doubt I can create anything as beautiful as you all have :) Astounding work, all around.
