OK, here's a weird one for you. It turns out that some fan art, comics, et cetera, are available to view through the Backroom before they are approved. I hadn't noticed this, so I clicked on an unapproved fan comic and read it. I faved it and commented on it. I can see the thumbnail in my Favorites page (it's called Talk to the Hand), but when I click on it, this comes up. The artist of this picture told me that if a user comments before the work is approved, the work is deleted. I commented on the re-uploaded version that I was sorry for being responsible for the deletion, but then I realized that the re-uploaded comic hadn't been approved yet, either! I bet that artist is really mad at me, right now.
So I guess there are several things that have to be fixed:
1. Keep yet-to-be-approved works from showing up in the Backroom.
2. Do something so that yet-to-be-approved works don't get deleted when someone comments on them.
3. If there is a way, fix the Favorites page so that thumbnail pictures that link to dead links are removed once the link is dead. I don't really want thumbnail pictures in my Favorites page if they don't work.
There are a few pictures in my portfolio that I can't delete. When I try to get rid of them, the page resets telling me to fill in the required fields. It's only on a select few and it's been this way for quite a while. I can't even store them as drafts. They're really old, so maybe that has something to do with it?

The site seems to be preventing 13 year olds from signing up. Is there an error in the script? Can it be fixed please? Young blood should always be welcome!
I cannot turn OFF "MyOtaku". Everytime I click the switch "turn off" a message comes up that says there is "error" and that I need to "contact an administrator". I made the "MyOtaku" page about 4 years ago. It's very embarrassing to stare at and I just want it turned off. I really do not want to delete my account just because of this obnoxious issue. CAN SOME ADMINISTRATOR PLEASE TURN MY "MYOTAKU" PAGE OFF!!! I don't want people to see it anymore. My age is all wrong and everything!

I had a party the other day and I think one of my guest tried logging into theotaku thru my laptop. I'm not sure what the problem is but everytime I try to access theotaku.com thru that laptop, it says that theotaku.com is having server problems. When I use my desktop computer, I don't have any problems (obviously since I can log into my account).
Hey TheOtaku...you're AWESOME! Don't know if this has been posted yet or if it's of any importance but when I add you guys to my favorites in Mozilla Firefox, you guys don't have an icon. Also, have you guys thought of making a mobile version of your site? With PSP, PSPGo, DSi, and better cell phones people are going on the web a lot at hot spots and stuff. a user sent me a message and i was able to read it one day, but never replied. a few days later the message the sent me was gone. i didnt delete or save it. how do i get the message back or what happened to it??

I had a wallpaper called The Three C's and now I can't find it. I also got an email from theO staff regarding it had been approved... AND it was on my port. until now... What happened?
Also, Whenever I type a comment it says it should be submitted right after I typed it but I isn't there until I press the comments button again
I was viewing the "Other Music" Worlds, but the site only shows me the first page. I tried to view them in alphabetical order and it only displayed A through H. I then tried every other possible way of viewing them (freshness, quality, et cetera) and different Worlds were displayed every time. Still, there was no page 2, 3, and so on. I know there has to be more than one page of "Other Music" Worlds because "Other Music" is the third most popular category for Worlds.
it's probably during when we put the wrong bbcodes then the whole comment box wont work.. i hope there's a way to fix it or improvise.. like make the codes not work *if wrong* instead of affecting the whole comment box.. >x<"

EDIT: I've received two gifts now, according to the automatic message, but neither of them are showing up in my portfolio.
Edit 2: Ok, I figured out my problem... The instructions really aren't very clear on how to get to the gifts. For someone who doesn't explore the site very often, I feel this should be made a little easier to understand. I couldn't figure it out until another member explained it to me.

One of my wallpapers "The Life I've Never Knew", was submitted & approved, but was deleted.
Do you know what happened to it, like was it a mistake, or someone accidently report it or something?
I tried submitting a quiz and after I clicked to go to the final page, it redirected me to the first page. All the work I typed was gone and there wasn't a confirmation message. I hope it got through because it takes an about an hour to make those quizzes and it really sucks when all your work just disappears like that.
...They are reading all of this right? Just wondering, since the images won't load and sometimes they will...it just happens randomly. Not to mention that the site itself sometimes seems as if it doesn't exist as I'm redirected to some search engine.

Last night I was here looking at wallpaper, and now today the image won't load after seeing that I had to register to view full size or whatever. I tried clicking on a size to and get the "Page cannot be found." error...waaah! What's going on?
I dunno if this is just my computer, but I keep getting a message telling me that there is nothing in the gallery I'm viewing, which is impossible. I'm getting "This gallery is empty..." It's really random too. Like one page will say that, and another won't. ??

I posted a new page for my fan comic that was in the category of "Death Note," but after I submitted it didn't show up in that section of you Backroom where it shows some of the latest submissions of the anime/manga you subscribed to, even tho I did subscribe to death note. And all the other fan arts and other for death note are showing up.

Hello, I was recently looking at pictures on the Otaku, and I obtained a Trojan Horse Virus/Spyware.
I am not blaming the site, but I was thinking about the site's previous problem with hackers.
Do you think they bugged the site?
I did absolutely NOTHING to cause the virus...and now I am getting pornography, and other unwanted adds.
everything in this site seemed slow.. i tried opening this using mozilla, safari, internet explorer.. but still it loaded so slow especially this comment box.. i checked if it was just my connection but no.. coz i can open other sites even download programs in seconds compared to just viewing a comment/navigating on this site which lately is taking 2-3minutes to load... any solution here..?

Hi. I'm have a problem viewing a couple wallpaper categories. It says they don't exist but yet they have pictures in them. The two I was trying to view was Rosario+Vampire and Blood+.

I recently submitted a wallapaper to TheOtaku about a month ago. When I went to a tag link and found it, a different users name was listed as it's creator.
There seems to be an error on a fanart I uploaded entitled The Man In Black. I just uploaded it this morning and I was waiting for a message of confirmation that the fan art had been approved.
However, people were able to view my fan art and comment regarding it. The problem is that it has not even appeared yet on my fan art list.
By the way, I uploaded the fan art again to see if this would be repeated. Hope you could help me with my problem.
While checking around the TV directory at theOtaku.com, it appears the Count Duckula Portal page of the site is missing my duckula e-card. Furthermore, despite me being the only to suscribe to the Count Duckula Portal, the TV directory forgot to show the number of suscribers to that portal, and ended up saying "0" instead.
So, Bossman there's this really weird thing going on. When I sign onto theO there's a thing that says --!> Sponsor Links, and then it lists things, but that's never been there since yesterday. >> It's kinda weird. I don't know what it is, and it's getting in the way of being able to read my messages. D:

I can't post my story! I wrote a story that I'm trying to post in my friend's Death Note Club world, but every time I try to post it, over half of it gets erased! I tried posting it in sections too, but when I tried to post the 2nd half, only three sentences showed up and the rest was gone! Why won't it work!? It won't show up in my own world either!

for my otaku, all the stuff I type under my backround doesn't appear on my site. I keep turning on my profile, and keep trying and retyping things, but it never shows up.
Hmm.. I dunno if this is a bug or not, but when I'm in my backroom and I try to jump to a member that I've subscribed to it doesn't work. I click the button and it doesn't work. It just stays at the same page. ._. It's been like that on all my accounts too.

I highly doubt you ever read this, or even try to fix it... it's ok if you don't... I've already counted this site, myOtaku, and Quizilla as a lost cause anyways. But I can never load this site, or myOtaku... it always says Error Loading Page. I also can never see my Portfolio or wallpapers. If I use this site for anything, it would be loading my wallpapers. I won't hold my breathe, but it would be nice if it could be fixed. I've tried both Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
Wallpapers are not loading at all on the submission pages even though thumbnails are showing in portfolios and such. Also a "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" error is returned when attempting to use the "share" links to access images directly.

I was an otaku for about a year or so and was still a member when the transition was made to Vibrant. I have had to get this new account recently and have been experiencing a few problems that weren't there before. I used to not be able to use myOtaku then it kind of fixed itself but even though I can get on myO page it won't let me turn it on so I can actually type text in it. Everytime I try to turn it on it goes right back to being off. I have Windows Internet Explorer and Windows XP if that helps at all. If this could be fixed soon I would appreciate it very much! ^^
I have problems with the site not loading at all. It happens very frequently. It'll ask me if I typed in the right address but I have it bookmarked so it's not like I made a mistake. I also have the hardest time viewing pictures like wallpapers or cards. It'll show the name of the picture but nothing else. That happens a ton too. It's just frustrating because I have to wait an hour or so before anything works. These have both gone on for a while for me and I figure if it hasn't been fixed by now then I should probably mention it.

I made a new account because someone deleted my old one. They hacked into it, and deleted it. But anyway, I can't turn my profile on for my myO site. Which makes me sad, because I love MyO, and I love all the customations I can make on that site.
Also, it's not showing me when someone comments, or when I have new messages. ._.

i've noticed a few problems with the fan comics section. say i messed up on a comic page and i want to fix it. i go to the "edit" section of that page and re-upload the image after fixing it. after re-submitting it, i check on the comic and i notice the edited page is now the cover, and the actual page didn't get fixed. i know i didn't re-upload the image to the cover, so i'm guessing it's a bug. it's very frustrating since i'm not able to fix a page i messed up on and i have to keep re-uploading the cover page to turn it back to normal.
another problem i noticed is that you can't view any comic pages other than the cover in high-resolution, which makes some comics hard to read if there's small typing.
do you guys think that they can be fixed? it'd be a big help. :3
...i'm still having problems with the viewing my comment replies thing... though it seems i can't complain that much. hey, I acknowledge that it's hard to get a site running flawlessly and keep it updated and switch over to a version that will hopefully be better in the future. You can't please everyone, especially instantly.
...But could you maybe update us sometimes on whether you're addressing these problems? not trying to complain, just a bit frustrated on my end.

i am new to theotaku, and am very dissappointed, because i keep trying to submit my wallpapers, and i know i am doing it right, but somehow every time i submit one, it says its been submitted but when i try to look at it, it says its been deleted! if you look at my wallpapers on my portfolio, it says there are zero, but there should be two of them that ive made on there! i dont understand why they keep being deleted! please fix it someone, please!
What the hell is going on? My wallpaper profile count and the official count were wrong but now ALL the wallpapers I've made this month have shifted around and even though its supposed to be listed by freshness its not. Wallpaper I made the 5th are up front while ones I made yesterday are now behind all of those. The whole thing is now out of order and not listed as it should be!
I'm using yahoo explorer and When I click on a persons name and go to their portfolio I can't see any symbols for pms as it says I'm not logged in but anything else I click on shows I'm logged in.
Also when are you going to return the numbers to show how many people have downloaded your walls or sent your cards? I hate not knowing! Not everyone clicks on the hugs or favorite buttons so you're left not knowing which one are popular in downloads/sents or not.
Okay Im still having a problem. I got 2 more of my cards to upload. One of them shows up in my portfolio but never showed upto the public and now everytime it says I have a successful upload, it shows up in my profolio but vanishes and just a minute ago I went to checl to see if my newest one was there still and it said it had been deleted or something and then tried to tell me I wasnt logged in when I was...Ithis is all starting to seem pointless and is making me think about not trying to do this anymore. I really would liek to know what in the world is going on.
Is there a limit to the number of breaks or words you can have in fan words? If so I think I might have hit it, if not, there is something wonky going on with one of mine.
I added a new chapter with a break and it added the text without a break and ending with a little question mark graphic in mid-sentence. Help?
I've been finding lately that I cannot get to my profile by any method I've tried. I can still see certain parts of my profile, like the fanart section or fanmanga section if I type in a tag in the search box, but the whole profile itself will not show. This has been going on for a while, now. I thought maybe it was just a temporary problem because I was able to get to it when Version Vibrant first launched, but it has not changed. A friend of mine also said she cannot get to my profile either. I would very much like that to be fixed, if possible.
Im still kinda new here but Ive been a fan of the site for a long time. But everytime I try to submit someting, like 75% of the time it doesnt go through. I know the formating and dimensions are correct and theres nothing bad about the stuff I submit and the file size isnt to big. It says that its submitted and shows up in my portfolio for a while but isnt counted with my other stuff and never makes it to the public. Why is this happening and when is it going to get fixed because its getting really really annoying and frustrating.

Just now encountered that little bug that tells me I have to log in (when I'm already logged in) in order to subscribe to someone and leave a comment in the guest book, and I tried logging in again and it didn't do anything, and when I tried adding them again I got 'Bad server response'.
For a while now every time I make a wallpaper any size other than 1024x768 and submit it this stupid site will not allow any other size period! I really really wish you would fix this! I hate making larger ones and being unable to submit it! Every time I try you get the error message below and the picture doesn't show up!

When I try to add wallpaper to my favorites it says "You are not logged in" even though I am. As a result I cannot add a wallie to my favs. The hug is OK though...

Today I got 1 new comment and 1 new comment reply, but i get the same dang error and have to try and remember all the places I've commented to find the reply... Actually i don't think, it's a bug, but i've felt like writing it. It's very confusing, that when i check the comments, i can't see, which work of mine was commented, because there's no link to the pic. it's really hard to answer properly to some comments if i don't now, which pic is the one, what got commeted. (sorry for my english ^^; )
When a wallpaper is submitted for approval it goes to the back of all the previously accepted once. Once it's accepted its moved to the front to show its been approved. Well my last wallpaper was never moved to the front like it should have been but my wallpaper count went up indicating it was approved.
I can't view all my comments on my fanart. It only seems to be a problem with a few of my pictures, but the counters seem to have the right number. Having said that, I don't think the counters for the amount of times my art has been favorited is quite right. When V.V. was launched I seemed to suddenly have a lot more favorites on my pictures.
When I'm looking at a fan word, not on the specific world, but the actual fan word template, I can't ever do a hug or favorite it. All I get is the "Voting failed", etc.. message. I'm using Firefox.
It seems you can not submit any wallpaper size except 1024*768 without an error occurring. If you try to submit a 1280*800 or a 1280*1024 you get this:

Backroom:
"Jump To Member" feature - Non-functional (clicking button after making choice from drop-down does nothing)
"Jump To Category" feature - Non-functional (clicking button after making choice from drop-down does nothing)
Comments:
Fail to open, or open incorrectly (blank white boxes, comment box off-center of page [haven't been able to duplicate that for capture yet]).
* Long strings that do open have rendering issues (examples taken from the comment string for This picture). Capture as seen in Internet Explorer 6 Capture as seen in FireFox 2.0 (same point in the comment thread).
Portfolio/Guestbook:
Page specific "sign-out" (the little box on the right hand side of the page says to "register or log-in" rather than showing the welcome message).
* Affects certain, but not all members portfolios (This list is links to actual portfolio pages, not to captures, and these ones are affected by the bug, I did test others which do not have the issue). snow fox (Viewed in IE 6) AngelBest Dream (viewed in IE6) Dagger IX1 (Viewed in IE 6) ima loser baby (Viewed in IE 6)
* Guestbook on effected pages can't be signed (get the "need to be signed in" error).
* Attempts to sign-in on Portfolio page fail (form submits, reloads the page in "signed-out" status).
* Navigating to other pages from the "signed-out" portfolios restores status of being signed-in.
It's not just you XxKirakishouxX I tried to submit one that size too and it said the same thing and the thumbnail wasn't there and any text you submit if you hit enter twice and add a space between lines it doesn't stay that way it all gets jumbled together in a big mess!

Bit of a bug in the "Block User" feature. According to the description: he members you list below cannot visit your site, PM you, or comment on any of your pieces.
I tested this out with someone, and it works up to a point. As I understand it, access to Worlds are supposed to be prohibited to blocked users (the bold-face text), however, blocked users can access Worlds. I was the "blockee" in the tests, so I know first-hand what I was and was not able to do. Comments and Private messages are prevented as they should be.
Here's a question. How can someone who's "not a member" post content that attracts enough attention to get into the featured slots on the main page?
If there's no easy answer for that, then you have a major bug on your hands with some member portfolios, for example:
This web comic is on the main TheO page in the featured fan comics section (as of 4:25pm EDT) However, attempting to view the artist's portfolio returns a "member doesn't exist" error page (Like This and This).
The search engine doesn't work. When I type a series name example Ragnarok I come across a user with that name but nothing on that series, but when I type in a username example Midori Sakura, or any username. I know they have cards and wallpapers but when using the search engine it comes up blank as if they have never posted anything.
When in a PM message, clicking the "messaging" link in the little blue bar at the top of the page where is says backroom > messaging ) takes you to the main theotaku.com page, not the PM inbox like it's supposed to. Thing is the link says you're in theotaku.com/backroom/messaging even though it's showing the main theota.com page.
Using the "shorten post to new page" renders a blank page when clicking the "view full post" link at the bottom of the abbreviated post. Content shows up in the "shortened" post on the main World page.
All coding is proper TheOtaku coding, no HTML, all caps, BB style tags throughout, and I can access the post in the "Modify Posts" area in it's entirety.
Today, when I tried clicking on the Books/comics link (http://www.theotaku.com/category/books/) on the theotaku homepage to see all the works submitted to the category itself so far (including mine, which can be found in my portfolio page by me and other otakus here), I keep seeing that annoying sign "Sorry, this category does not exist in our network. Why not try it as a tag?"
I went temporarily insane and for some reason submitted a wallpaper in .png format. It gave me a wierd error page, so I resubmitted in .jpg. The "You can only submit once in 24 hours message" popped up, but when I went to My Portfolio it showed 2 copies of of the submission, except one was all black. When I tried deleting it, (8 times, now) it wouldn't go away.
Strangely, that black screen has more comments than most of my other works.
My current problem is that when I try to suscribe to more anime categories as well as adding hugs/favs to some wallpapers, I get the response "Bad server response".
I told my friend about not being able to edit my wallpaper captions but then she said she just now did it and it worked fine including going back and editing again. I went and tried to edit one and add caption to another but it remains empty and never updates! No matter what I do it won't add a caption to my walls!
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but when I change the aligning of posts (center, right), it will revert back to the default aligning (left) if I put a space between the lines.
So if I center this line and put a space like this:
it will push back to the left in this second line, even if it's still in the center tag.
I don't know if my IQ has dropped or what, but no matter what world I go into, even my own, I can't post anything. Except a comment. but I can't post tose on my world, because I can't do anything about it.
Comment counts don't work for the fan words/features that show up on the front page. They always read "0 comments" even if there are actually comments on the actual article.
I had like 500 things favorited on here and now I can't find them!!! I've looked around here for a full half-hour attempting to find them but they're nowhere to be found! Bring me back my favorites!!!!
No idea what happened, but one of my comment boxes suddenly went all wonky and wouldn't display anything beyond a certiain point, even though comments kept being added and they would show up in the comment manager.
Not sure if it's a bug in the site or if it's just something on my end, though, since someone else said he could see what he commented there just fine.

Since it did it yesterday too, I figured I should mention it again.
when I'm looking at wallpapers, sometimes the thumbnail won't show anything, then when I click on it thinking maybe it'll let me view the fullsize wall, I get an error messg. that says I'm not authorized to view the page.
while submitting a wallpaper it submitted it 3 times and I can not delete two of the entries!!
also it shows two different thuumbnails for one of the submissions!!
What are we sapposed to do about fan mangas that do not appear in the owner's portfolio, the fanmaga page, or come up on any searches for the manga/person/tag but still come up as able to have pages added under the submission button?
Not so much a bug as it is a request, but having an in-depth feature overview to explain the subtle nuances of things here would be very much appreciated. Why do I ask for such a thing? Well, I mentioned having issues with tags on Worlds earlier in the comment thread here, turns out it wasn't a bug, I'm just an idiot who assumed the obvious and thought there was a problem when there wasn't. I thought the tags for World posts would be visible as links in the bar at the bottom of the post along with the date, comment link etc, I just discovered that those don't show up till a person clicks the double arrow next to the word "tags". Would have been nice to know that from the start, it would have saved time and energy from not having to chase down an erroneous bug report.

As far as I've seen, the worlds still function, but navigation between them is very difficult without portfolios available. Everything else seems to be down.
I'm still using FireFox 2 (whatever the current edition), but now I'm on Vista.
And I came here to say the same thing, other than very limited access to people's worlds and my own. I get that error for just about every link I try. >_< This happened shortly after the site quit responding for about ten minutes.

Another Guest Poster/Collaborative world issue. Since you can't subscribe to watch for updates to a world, only a user, I subscribe to Timechaser to watch for updates to the Watercooler. But I only see updates if Timechaser himself posts there. If any of the guest posters put something there it doesn't show an update unless I then have that guest poster favorited. But I don't know that someone is a guest poster unless they post. It's very frustrating. You should be able to subscribe to a specific world and see updates for it, not just for specific users. Of if you subscribe to a user you should see all updates to worlds they created, even if someone else posted in it.
ok, just found this out. if you have more than one new PM then if you check one then then it says that you dont have any more new ones. and i think i have an obligation to say that the old otaku was much better.
Bug Found... I posted a Fan Fic in my World yesterday 4 different times because it would not show in the world and every time I would delete it and re add it it still would not show it. I have went threw it every time looking for Booboos to see if that maybe causing it in the coding with being use to HTML and now moving to BB and there is nothing to stop it from posting... It looks clean and ready to go but the World will not show but a peice of the starting post once you click 'Read full post' there is nothing there to see...
Okay, I was wrong. There are some bugs. Sometimes, it won't let me comment. This might just be a complaint, but I agree with Onee-chan (Angel Zakuro), I have to minimize the comment box when reading a post, because like others, I read posts one paragraph at a time. Also, why are some manga pages squished, not fan art, fan manga, almost all the pages I see in most manga have squished pages, I don't really understand the deal with that. And I do miss html, I thought Worlds wouls at least let you use IMG because if you use BBcode, then IMG is aslo acceptable, but it doesn't wotk, many people have tried. And I find it very difficult to find my friends, I have to check through their submitted works to be able to find them.
Sorry, this was longer than I thought, I didn't report much bugs, because a lot of people have said what I've been wanting to say, I just made a short complaint, I am thought now, but you're doing a great job!
Yet another issue has cropped up: I'm unable to change the design of my world "The Watercooler". I want to change the back ground, but no matter how many times I try to upload a new background, it ignores what I'm telling it to do and the old background remains.
How on earth do I use the worlds page???????????? I did all of the things to make it cool, but it doesn't have anything that I uploaded! Much less what I did. Nothing will upload in my world... and how do I leave posts in my world??? It's all so difficult!!! Why did you change it all??!!!!!!
Just now I was trying to submit an e-card, but I got a message saying it was not within the size requirements, 350x350. The dimensions of my card are 350x305.
I made it a bit smaller, 335x292, and again I received the message saying it wasn't within size requirements.
And I'm still unable to upload avatars in PNG, even though supposedly the format is now allowable.
Tried to insert a new drawing to this site today after my last one (inserted at 4:00 PM yesterday), but then came that dumb sign "oops! Sorry, you can only submitt one drawing per the 24-hour period" (well, something like that).
I'm sorry to bother u when ur busy, but, erm, im not sure if this was mentioned, but the pages in my manga are very hard to read because it has been streched out to the size of the front cover for some reason. I really hope that you can fix it since I can't read a word I wroteT_T I hope that you'll be able to squish all the bugs soon ^^; take care!
well i was going to read through all 3oo- something comments to see if anyone else has noticed this, but it seems that whenever I search for members in the search window, at the upper right hand corner of the screen, it lists fanart fan words, cards, wallpapers etc to be empty. which really scared me at first, but when i went to myO and linked to theO, through member portfolios, it showed the same pages as before but their works were all there. So the problem is that if you search for members, rather than look in their portfolios through myO, their portfolios are empty.
Sometimes I find my art around the site, and some of them say it's by someone named Mariskah. So I think they stole my art, and I look at their art, and my pic listed as hers isn't there. And then when I click on the art, it says it's by me. :x
Not to be a bother, but that transparency issue I reported before appears to be a MAJOR rendering issue in FireFox. I'm seeing it occur on any World that uses the sunset theme and had an image embedded, either in the intro, or in posts. Not only are images transparent, but so is the text. I'm compiling the screen captures I made testing the same pages in both IE6 and FireFox 2.0 now, and there is a remarkable and noticeable visual difference. There are too many URLs to list here, anyone with embedded images and the sunset theme appears to be affected by this issue.
Sorry... >.< I'm here and have another one. In the Introduction section when editing my World, I upload my picture but then it doesn't come up. Also, are we even able to use HTML coding at all? None of the things I do work @.@
The character limit when tagging wallpapers is gone. When I realized this, I began going through and adding tags to most of my wallpapers, but those wallpapers now no longer show up when any of the tags are searched. Also, when someone looks up my name, it says I have 30-some wallpapers when I actually have about 100, and it only displays the 'overly tagged' wallpapers when "view all" is clicked. Hope this gets cleared up soon!
Sorry to add one more bug to the pile ^^" When I submitted a wallpaper I noticed the fact that more links to the 1280 x 960 resolution appear: "Wish you were here". I submitted the following resolutions: 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 1024 and 1920 x 1200.
UPDATE: I checked and the submit tab is now right there where it should be on my home computer as well. I was able to successfully submit the piece I had been trying to for the past few days. =)
I was also able to create my world. It took awhile, trying different variations but eventually it accepted a url(and it turned out to be a painfully simple one, too - I [i]would[/i] try that for last, haha). I wouldn't have thought some of the ones I tried before, even with as many members as theO has, would have been people's user names, haha.
Anyway, thanks a bunch for the help though, Adam. I do love Version Vibrant though bugs or no bugs, it's very refreshing compared to the the old site. =D
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, and it's something I just encountered today. When I open a comment box there is an ad blocking part of the comment box. I really wish the comment box was moveable.
I'm sure 6 million people have already mentioned this, but in the dashboard for Worlds, the thing that says comments, messages, subscriptions and such, well, they always stay as zeros even if you have messages and comments. when you click them however, it displays all your new comments and messages, but it doesn't notify you of them.
Okay here's an interesting bug: On one of my worlds, the uploaded image is not solid. It's transparent so that the "Sunset" color scheme is visible behind the image which is both detracting and annoying as I have no desire to have my images transparent. It only seems to occur in Firefox (I'm using 2.0), I checked it out in IE 6 and it doesn't seem to be happening there.
I submitted a page on my fanmanga and then some reason just now my front cover has changed to the same page as the one i uploaded. I tried to edit it back to the original front cover but it ended up having my fanmanga deleted off the site. :S

It's probably due to the fact that I have a special character in my name, but I cannot view the portfolio page for myself in Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 7.
Since we have favorites can we change hugs back into how many people downloaded? I personally like to see how many people like my wallpapers and cards enough to download/send. Personally I see no difference between hugs and favorites.
Also as much as I love the new comments section to show what comments people made on my wallpapers can you at least show a link to those wallpapers as I have a lot of wallpapers and I'd like to see which ones their referring to without going through them all. Can you also make it where its optional as to whether or not the views counter counts your vists. Also make the comments count the cards too and again link to said card so you know which one their talking about. Could you also maybe just make the comments section like click here for wallpaper comments and here for cards?
You really need to make a FAQs file or at least a tutorial to guide us through the new stuff, as I'm confused on a lot of the new things. Plus you didn't think this new layout thing through much by deleting things that were important. Example when are the guest books returning? Though the friends file doesn't matter a lot to me it'd be nice to have when I want to send my friend a pm I can look her up in the friends section and not have to hunt her down.
Any hope that you will soon go back to giving senior otaku's back their freedom? I hate that I once again have to have approval to upload or edit my wallpapers or cards, though I love the idea that I can update it now without taking it down and doing it again. And any time line of when the new one wallpaper per 24 hours rule will end?
It's strange, I'm on my boyfriend's computer right now and I have the tab to submit. When I was at home and at school it was nowhere to be seen. O.o I'm thinking it might just be my computer. I'll check when I get home, and try a few other things - could just be my browser acting goofy again.
and one more thing, mabye instead of changing theO all together, you could have made it a whole different site, so that the people who liked it the old way could stay, and the ones who wanted it different could go. I just feel like it would benefit you more than us, you could lose a lot of people if bugs continue to occur.
i'm realize all of you put a lot into this site, but it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. i can see some good in it, like fanfiction and some of the new icons, but there are just too many bugs, plus it's hard to find our friends and view there sites. it would be fine if you would just have left the old myO and theotaku the same for all the ones who loved it, but that didn't happen. I'm afraid you might lose a member, if i'm not already banned for expressing my opinion. thanks for reading.
I'll point out that these are across theotaku.com and all the sites and hubs that have the navigation menu pictured. The backroom isn't affected cause it has a different navigation menu.

Hmmm, I think I have a bug or perhaps I simply set something up incorrectly in my back room. But the date for when a comment was posted seems to be wrong. Take right now. It's telling me that the date I posted a comment is the 9th and yet for me it's not even 6pm on the 8th.
So is that a glitch? Or did I miss something when I set things up? Oh and thank you for fixing the comment box, I was hating how tiny the reply spot was. Seriously. :p
My fan manga pages are wider than they would normally be. Also, I can only see the comments for the cover of my fan mangas, not each individual page. Please fix this and thanks for listening

For the WORLDS URL issue it's because you can't register someone else's member name and since we have a lot of members it means a lot of 'premium' URLs aren't available
Sorry about that guys, I think there was a slight logical error is the consecutive comments code. I tested it on a new piece of art and it worked fine. Should be ok now.

I as well am getting the four consecutive comments error, regardless of that I hadn't made a comment in days.
Along with my earlier comment about that I can't submit anything (I don't even have the option anywhere to do so), I recently discovered I cannot create worlds either. I get the error telling me that the URL already exists, even though that it does not. I tried it with multiple URLs and I still get that error. This is on both Firefox 2.0 and trying it on IE7.

well, i've realized that the coment manager is a lil bit...."incomplete", in the way that its not saying more than "Worlds"/"Fan Art"....in the description, and there's not saying (in the Fan art case) to wich work belongs (the title of the pic). I dont know if thats some bug or if its something to improve :D
When you go to the search engine and click on search for that user that user comes up but even though you know they have wallpaper and cards it registers that they don't even when you click on either wallpapers or cards it still says its empty. Its fine if you type in the name for their portfolio in the address bar but not when you want to look them up.

i edited my cover yesterday and my manga disappeared off the list and my portfolio says i don't have any comics. it's there when i click on it, though. :/

I've been trying to change my avatar. The one I want IS the specified 100x100 size and IS in PNG format. But every time I try to upload it, I get an error saying "Your avatar must be in GIF, JPG or PNG format."
When I look into my portfolio I can see 3 of my wallpapers under the section. But when I clik 'view all' it says that me gallery is empty! :( Now I can't locate all my wallpapers except for 3, I had more than that before but I cant find them now.

Recently, I tried embedding a video from YouTube (I put the code in the box for it, and typed :video: where I wanted the video to go), but the video would not show up on my world.
Also, I tried embedding music and polls for my world, but it wouldn't work. Since it worked for the original myotaku.com, I'm wondering if it is allowed now. Anyone care to give some help/advice?
I don't know if this is a technical thing or not, but, when you try to edit your Guest Post, all you can do is add it to one of YOUR worlds. D: And when you edit it then finish it and submit it, it deletes it from the site you Guest Posted on. :P
Also, in the future will there be an option for HTML? Although there aren't A LOT of people on theO who are HTML literate, it's really the only way I can put some things on my site. :P
I'm not sure if this would be considered a bug or if it was intentional but style tags (for using bold, italics, etc.) have to be typed in caps to work. Typing [b]bold[/b] doesn't work, as you can see, without using capital B's. But pretty much all forum software everywhere that uses the same type of tags allow them in either lower case or capitals, and as someone who's used to typing out tags manually rather than using the buttons to insert them, having to type them in caps is highly annoying. It would be much appreciated, and I think it would avoid a lot of confusion with other people who are used to typing them out, if the tags also worked in lower case.
And like I said (I think >_>), it's just something I'd use to see what I'm able to post in should I feel like it, so I stay on top of my information. Not a whole lot of other people would do it that way, and I do think that there should be somewhere else you can see that, or some sort of notification thingummy to tell you you've been added.
Well, I'm sure you'll still be adding more things to the site, so I understand... my problem is that I'm a new user and when I checked out my portfolio... I have no title, and it says I've been a member since 11/30/99...
Well I'm finally set since it let me create a world for my user name. I don't know why it wouldn't before so I'm glad it finally worked. XP Now I can finally get started!
You know how before, when you wanted to send an E-card with out actually e-mailing it, you could just use the html code thingie? Well they're all gone, the codes I mean. I hope you guys bring those back, my e-mail doesn't work a lot of the time so I can't really use that to send e-cards...
Well, this is about the e-cards. When I create my e-card, there are extra letters or things that aren't suppose to be in it since it wasnt there when I first typed it. Its like typing don't and then it comes out don'trnrn or something like that. Oh and I liked how on the older version you can actually just directly send out an e-card without creating the card and then sending the link. Oh is there any music along with the card now? Sorry but this comment is mostly suggestions and stuff. But the old e-card thing was pretty much better

If one of your friends does a fan comics update, it
1. Doesn't provide a link to the actual page.
2. The "Update Type" column lists "Fan Comics (Page)" which wraps and throws off the layout. So you have to click on the user's name and then try to find their update and hope you get lucky.
Also, when you have new comments, etc.. and you click on the link to view your comments, it should highlight somehow the ones that are actually new. Also under "Site" it just says "Worlds", etc.. without giving you any indication of which world or which post the comment was on. That could be a lot clearer.
The new layout is gonna take some getting used to, but that's alright. Only thing I have to say is this: What the heck happened to the cosplay section!? : g_blink:

I tried to modify my manga Festival because none of the captions were coming up. Than it deleted the manga isn't of adding the captions. But than I went into submissions and Festival was able to be updated. I tried to add a new page to it but the update hasn't shown up and the manga itself hasn't reappeared in my Portifolio.
When I go to create a world with my username, Outcast, the url is said to be already in use, I was of the understanding that a url matching the username of a member was saved for their use.
Second one is when I try to create a world with the url Gavin, it tells me the url is already in use, and yet when I search for it in the Worlds by just using theotaku.com/worlds/Gavin, I'm told no such username exists. Call me spoiled, but I'd just like to use my OB username over here.

I have noticed that the Views on the Wallies *not sure about others* but the Views are counting Views and Downloads so if one person views and then downloads it counts as two not one. Not sure if you wanted it that way or what but thought I would let you know...

In the wallies since I have noticed the bug (if it is a bug) it is false for downloads I do not think it is fair to think that you have more downloads then what you really have. If someone Views it, it should be a View not count as a Download. The Hugs are a cute feature for a kudos thing, but I thought that was what the Favorites was for, if the like it that much they Fav it not hug it... The reason I think it is not fair to have the View and Download together is because it is counting the person that made the wallie as well if they go in there. I have been checking the comments on some of my wallies because the comment warning in my backroom is not working and telling me when I get new comments on them. I have to go to the list and look for new comments the new comments area is not working for me. I did get a reply comment count today, but so far that is all I have seen pop up on there.

I mean this new site is pretty..but I dontl like it as much as the old one..looks arnt everything... my site was all pretty and pink it described me.. now its just plain.. and we can only submit one pic every 24 hours!? whats up with that.. and its imposible to find all my old friends with out having to look up there art work
Got the worlds up and running...i forgot a field.
I also subscribed to some members. This worked fine but the 'Jump to member' button doesn't work. I assume it is supposed to take me to the portfolio of the selected member but nothing happens.
Added "Best Songs from Giant Robot Anime" to world "Sci-Fi Anime" Fortress, but when I clicked "read the full post" to see what it looks like in the world, the text is missing.
i liked otaku before the change. we should like...have a choice to what version we go onto something like that. i just really want to submit my art again and i want to know how to do everything. it looks cool and all but theotaku shouldn't have been changed until all the bugs were done at least. i want to see my site too! i had a chat and everythin' now its gone. i worked hard to fix it up! T_T
I believe that's more or a design decision. I'll bring it up with Adam.

I think this is temporary. Since we are still working out the kinks, it could cause major problems if we allow too much volume at one time. Especially if that volume is getting messed up on the way in.
will w ever be able to submit more than one art work pre section a day it gets kinda pointless when you have a alot to submit [for just to submit or for contest ect.]and having to submit them day bye day is an inconviniec
o yah and whne ever we submit fan manga how come it doesent come out on its real size my art work is often strache out or made smaller even thow thy fit the criteria

A lot of times when I have link issues in the backroom (the ones I brought up before for example), it's just my browser being lazy as I'm finding out.
This isn't so much a "bug" as it is an annoyance, but in wallpapers, the filter options leave us low resolution monitor users out in the cold. Choices to sort by 1024x768 (my current resolution) and 800x600 are not in the size dropdown.
Not really needed in this case, but I want to get into the habit of doing it anyway.
A large number of actions that lead to database errors have been corrected along with a few other bugs :)
To name a few:
- world posts and greetings with certain special characters
- world name duplicates (this was a mistake, name duplicates are ok, url duplicates are not)
- users and categories with some special characters
- loading comments in some situations
- viewing paged items in some cases
... and it goes on.
Keep the feedback coming. However, please, when reporting problems, include the page URL that you encountered the problem on.
On the Messaging page in the backroom, nothing beyond page 1 is accessable (I get the server timed out error page in FireFox). I'm also noticing that there's no easy way to send PM message to anyone here, there's no "send PM" link in the portfolio or anywhere associated with members.
I'm not exactly sure if the bad links I ran into were just my browser being lazy or if they're actually in the backroom somewhere, I'll try to locate them again to be sure before I report them as a bug.
my wallpaper disappeared from list of recent wallpapers and i submit it about only an hour ago O_o could it be thats why there's so many wallpapers repeated?
Well you can check them going to your portfolio and then inside your art
part there you will find them.Aslo try reading the FAQ in Adams site if you have more questions before making questions.
It's not a bug...just kind of a "complaint" maybe? But um, the comment box...you can't minimize it or move it out of the way to see the posts. My short-term memory fails, and I can't remember what people post about so I liked having the box minimized or to the side while reading and then commenting as I went along in a post. ^^; I guess you couldn't change this, but it makes it quite hard to fully remember a post and comment...
Also, MyO and the PM system aren't working too well since theO and MO are connected (share the inbox). It's just odd. And will there ever be a way to see ALL of the people on your subscription list at the same time and whether they updated recently? ^^;
Quick question, might be a bug, might just be me not understanding something right. Is the Category Subscription section in the backroom supposed to show recent activity like the one for members? If so, it's not doing that.
um well i was writing this fanfiction as a post and when i put the words in for italics it wasnt working and when i put the break up to make another pg for another ch that doesnt work. and then when i went on my site to check it out it was only showing prt of the post. and i clicked on the other pg, nothing was there. i dont know if it was just my stupidity or if it's a bug. oh yea is there a different way too look at my site? cause everytime i look at it it counts as a view, idk it was bugging me. thanks for fixing the fan manga problem though. please try to fix the other ones too lol, mabye you can go on my site and fix it or something.. and mabye you could fix the regular myO so us oldies can use it. and it's really hard to find my old pals. it would have been cool if our old sites could have transfered here. although i didnt find anything wrong with the old site. well just focus on the main things and ignore ramblings. ^^
When I tried adding an image to page 3 my 1st guide (The Space battleship Yamato saga) in my world "Sci-Fi Anime Fortress", page 3 ended up repeating the inserted image from page 2 (the series 1 logo of "Yamato"). So, I had to remove the image from page 3 to avoid complications. What I tried to ad on page 3 of that post was the movie 2 logo from the "yamato" series.
When I try to put up a wallpaper on my world, it does not show up. Also, I'm having difficulty finding my old friends' world's as well (unless they don't have one yet?)

i tried to add a page to my manga and every time i click the "add series page" button i get a page saying "this page is expired". i don't know if it's just my computer or if it's a bug, but it didn't happen yesterday.

@people asking about cosplay:
I seem to recall Adam-san saying something about taking cosplay *temporarily* off the site. It's not a permanent thing; he'll probably put it back up once some of these issues are resolved.
Well, I updated my fanart and put different descriptions under them. But you can't automatically view the thumbnails of my art when you get to my portfolio. The only way you can see them is if you click "View All" for Fan Art in my portfolio. I don't want to be a drag, but I can't find my favorites either.

Whoops >.< Even though there's a 24 hour submission thing, I submitted 3 walls in one day, and they're all the same one. I think this happened when I went to "edit" and then pressed submit. Each time I did that a new wallpaper appeared. And I don't know how to delete the first 2 >.

When deleating messages on the main Otaku site without looking at the ones in the PM box it says there are unread messages and I can't deleate the messages anymore.
Um, well I'm here again, I can't seem to submit my art, expecially adding pages to my manga. I read the other comments and it seems some people can add stuff, and some people can't....is there something special to it? When ever I try to add something the tag, dedication, and one that lets you know what type the manga is ( brainfreeze moment) things don't work, as in they won't let me type anything in them. Sorry for teh bother.
I noticed that the authors note on previous artwork is missing.
The artist tracker/favorites is hard to find [or I just don't know how to locate it hehe ^^', I'll probably find out eventually] along with my friends.
The youtube embed thing isn't working either, or that could just be my internet explorer [I forgot which version it is].

i've created a world in Card Captor Sakura Category....but when u visit CCSakura Category appears this message in the description "no worlds created yet" ....and i've created one already!!....
Hey Alla, I realize you can see it that way, but the only way you'd know is if someone told you. It should be a section under your worlds so you can see at a glance without having to go to make a post. As it is you have to either go to the user who created it and then click on the world, or manually type in the address. That is my issue with it. Although I find myself having to type in a lot of manual addresses as the world navigation system still needs some work.
It has been saying I have no new fan art and wallpapers although when i click all there there infact there there as soon as i submit my work there not even in the catogorised section.Im confuzzled
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I can't find my favorites lists. When I go to the deviation it still says it's one of my favorites, but my list is non-existent. (Either that or I just can't find it.) Also, my Author Watch list seems to be gone as well.
Several of the sub-pages in the backroom are actually missing correct URLs, for example, you go into a PM, and at the top you have the link to return to the messaging page, it's missing /backrooom/ part of the URL so you get a 404 error when clicking it. There's another page that like that as well, I can't which it is though.
Not really a bug, but something that I think should be fixed...
In the "comments" section in the backroom, it tells you whether the comment was posted in a world or on a submission, and what type of submission, but there's no way that I can find to get to the actual world post or submission that the comment was posted on.
Ummm... I hate to mention it again, but I still can't create a world with my user name. -_- It tells me that it already exists even though I haven't created one.
I really want to get started on creating a world for it. >_< Help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
When I go to comments under my backroom. I click on one of the comments and when the comment window comes up to show it, the advertizment covers up a part of the comment window.
...I'm just wondering can Artists still leave comments on thier artworks? I'm sure people have already asked that but...

That's probably because that username already exist, so the url for the world is kept free for that username. For example, no one else but you can create the url .../ankoku ^^
The only problem that I have found so far thats really a big problem, is I'm trying to set up a world, and and error pops up saying that the URL already exists, but when I go to that URL, there is no site there. I'm not sure what's happening.

First, easy there, Princess. This thing has, like, epic amounts of bugs, neh? It's-a gonna take a bit to get used to.
Second, I think everyone's avi reverted to an earlier version unless they re-uploaded into VV. I know mine isn't the same, but until I get back to where I can access my image database, I'm coping. =P
Third, and this is kind of a big issue for me: after all the time Adam has spent working on, developing, prepping, and otherwise managing this upgrade, as well as still taking care of the original(-ish) theO, it's really impolite to tell him to just scrap it. Have some patience. Ć_Ć
oh Adam please do something about V.V !(well actually. given all these trouble thats going on for everyone, i'ld rather not have it at all) well nothin much so far. i've only got enough time to hang around the fanarts area. the popup comments are very much pleasantly blocked by the advertisements for Tsubasa Chronicle movie and XXX holic DVD. so yea. man. i cant read my comments in full. and i cant shif the comments box. which makes it all worse. not. the advertisement box didnt close even after clicking it TT grr. enough to make me say that 'i hate you CLAMP' even though i like them
and also. its more of a hassle nowadays to be viewing fanarts. you have to click the pretty Back button on the browser just to simply swith between viewing pieces of fanarts. TT NOTE THE SARCISM. it was more convenient in the past when all you have to do is to click on either (previous fanart) or(next fanart)

So far, my only problems have been with comments. I managed to submit one for the Piano Squall thing, but couldn't use any of the emoticons. Every time I would click on them a script error window would pop up and say the problem was that " 'cadet' is null or nonexistant." Now it doesn't even do that, it just won't let me use them. I can't use anything else from the toolbar either.
Also, yesterday I tried to submit this error and it wouldn't let me. The comment box was really small. It was only about the size of the 'submit' button and the toolbar was scrunched up to and didn't have the light blue background at all. I could still type my comment, but once I hit submit, nothing happened. I left it alone for about 20 minutes or so and nothing had changed.
I'm using Windows XP. Good luck with all the bugs. ^_^'
i dont know if its a bug but i tried to submit a page to my fanmanga and i couldn't type in a few of the fields. i passed it over and tried to submit but it said i didn't fill out the required fields. so i tried again and it was the same thing. the 'tags' and 'member dedication' fields dont work
Maybe this is not a bug and I'm just really overlooking something simple - but as it stands now, I can't submit...anything. I've scoured the site using both Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.0 (on XP Professional) and I can't find the option to submit anything, anywhere.

Actually, if you check the Post section of the backroom, and click the Add Guest Post submenu, you'll be able to see what worlds you're allowed to guest post in.
Otherwise I'd assume the person who added you does have to notify you. But yes, there is a way to check.
If you are added as a guest poster on a world, shouldn't it show up in your backroom? How do you know you have been added? The person has to manually tell you? Seems a bit archaic to do it that way.
This bug is the same as the one mentioned in the comment I'm replying to, and I also have a screenshot.
And like CosmicSailor said, it appears to be just the One Piece banner that won't submit to the dropdowns. I sat for about ten minutes refreshing the screen and cycled through the entire banner selection, and the rest of them worked fine.
Everytime I try to submit my comment, it seems to load it but a pop up window comes up and says that internet explorer needs to close and then all my windows close >_< . I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0. Is this a bug? because it is annoying to go back to here all over again.
Try looking in your sent mail. For some reason when you reply to a message it gets counted as an unread message. myotaku doesn't have the same problem.
Not so much a bug as an annoyance. Either there's going to have to be a way to link to multiple comments when replying so you can reply to more than one comment at one time, or the "no consecutive comments" thing will have to go. I have three comments I need to reply to in the same thread and can't cause of the consecutive comment block.
this isnt really a bug, but every time i try to submit a e-card, it says the size is incorrect.... where the heck does is tell you the size requirements, cuz i dont see them

I couldn't find my favorites, though I know that a record of them is being kept somewhere since they still exist.
Also, I noticed that the artists' comments are gone (or at least not visible).
It's a bit confusing to navigate, but I'll probably get used to it after a few days. All of my old subscriptions are gone too...which is kind of annoying, but I'll probably find everyone again eventually.

I don't know if this has already been called to your attention, but I noticed something about all the submissions...
You know how artists can put their own comments about the stuff when submitting? Well... you can't see it when you're viewing the stuff. The only reason I know it's still there somewhere is because I went to edit something and my previous comments were there.
Is there a reason that these aren't viewable yet, or is it just a bug?
As I cannot find anywhere else to complain, I will do so here. I really like this version, what with it's bright colors, Fan Words, world thingys, and awesome emotioncons Hehe... ninja... It did work right? Bah! I digress. The only complaint I have is the backroom. On the other otaku, I had a really cool Yondy background! Here, while it's a change of color, it's bland and boring to look at ;_;
I've sent a couple PMs via VV; however, my MyO account says I have 2 unread messages, but they don't show up, and my theOtaku backroom doesn't recognize that I have any new messages.
yea sorry to bother you, but i think i found a bug even though someone must have identified it already. i tried to upload my avatar, and when i clicked the change/add avatar button, it wouldnt let me get through. it stated that theO wants me to re-download what i was doing! help!!!
I found when I was going to edit a comic of mine to place it in the television section, it was acting like I was re-submitting the piece. I just want to make sure everything is in the right place, not use up my submission for the day.

When I try to create a world, a messege keeps coming up saying that I have to fill in both the title and description. But I did fill them in! I've tried to create a world at least ten times now, and I always get that messege. Please make it go away! T^T

Well, this version confuses me a little, but that's just me, most like everyone else, I can't see a comments link, I do, but it's not my comments that I recieved, I figured out most things around here, the Worlds thing, still confuses me, but, I'll get back to you on that. I've only been here 10 minutes or so, so just one thing with the wallpapers. I uploaded a wall that is 1600x1200, and I specified that when I was filling out the submission form. When I hit submit, it gave me a message that the wallpaper doesn't meet the size requirements. But the wallpaper still posted, although a 1600x1200 version isn't available.
I'm also not sure how to find my site or my friends, but that's not a bug, it's just me. I still have to figure out this whole Worlds thing. Keep up the good work!
I don't know if it's a bug, but in my inbox on MyO I have 495 messages. But on Worlds I only have 434. I kept all of those for a reason and want to know if something is missing. Thank you.
It took me a while to figure it out but it's simple once you know where to look. Click your portfolio link in the box on the right side of the page and scroll down to where the thumbnails are. Even if you don't have anything submitted in a category, you can still click the "view all" link and at the top of the page is a blue box with the number of submissions you have for it, and the link to your favorites.
Well, I figured the whole image in my introduction thing. But I still don't understand why sent messages are acting like unread messages if you go back to your myO. Oh and finding people is a bit of a pain.
I'm reporting quite a few bugs here, but I tend to notice weird things. Here's a gem for you though. All submissions in "Fan Words" which ID the user who posted them, and the name of the World where they posted them, are all indicating they were posted to a World called "0", that's the text in the links. Now, the links themselves are still correct, they take you to the correct World, it's just the name of the Worlds aren't showing up.
Another thing I noticed was that view counts on submissions don't seem to be working either.
Found another. You cannot properly modify a guest post. In doing so, you do not have the option to save it to the WORLD it was originally posted in. Instead, it defaults to one of your own WORLDS and does not list the WORLD you were given permission to post in as a guest at all.
Okay i may not know all your answers but i saw you comment and i thought i'd try and help you.
You go to your site by making yourself a world. You may already know that though. All you do is look at the bars at the top of your page [backroom or VV] and it lays it out for you.
The way you find your friends and look at the sites is using your MyO site. If you let say go to my MyO site [x.PUNK .x. ZERO.x] go to profile and it leads you to my VV site and you just add me or look at my site that way ^.^
As for the messaging system i don't know. They might not have everything figured out yet that's why.
Okay, here we go. these arent so much as bugs as they are things that arent as good as the last verson. Okay, how do you look at your site?How do you look at other people's sites? You cant tell if a message is new or not cuz it doesnt look any different. when i got on for the first time it said i had 0 new messages but when I looked at my old backroom ( i had it favorited) i had 26 new messages! Thats really a problem! But most of all, the site thing bugs the hell outta me! So plz PM me and tell me the answers to my questions!!
my pictures dont have great resolutions and i dont know how to add an introduction to my world plus you can only add 1 every 24 hours isnt good because my picture had bad resolution so i deleted it fixed and couldnt put it back on please help
Yet another comment related bug, comments on other member's worlds that I'm subscribed to are not being reported in the backroom either. It seems the only comments I'm seeing right now are on Official Worlds most of which I've commented to, like the Bug report here. No other comments or comment replies are showing up at all.
I am not sure how to get from MyOtaku to the Otaku web site without going the long way. (google or other search engine).
When replying to messages on the Otaku it does not mark the messages on MyOtaku as "already read" and gives me the replied message back. Also I cannot reply to messages on MyOtaku.
Well, I do have a couple problems like with customizing my world the image that's I put to be emedded in the introduction doesn't show up, and I have a problem with messages much to my surprise I recieved a message from my friend and he tells me he tried to send it 10 times and I try to reply but I couldn't I got that sql code.
Yeah, so do I, he's going to be really busy for a while. I hope he can get some rest here and there while he's working on this.
More on that comment count bug, it's not just the comment count, it seems the whole comment reporting system in the backroom is having issues.
1) It's not reporting any comments made to my Worlds on the comments page in the backroom at all. These are the comments others have made and my replies to those comments.
2) My counts on the statistics page are all reading 0 when there's a whole list of comments on the comments page.
3) Replies to my comments aren't being listed as "Comment Replies" as intended, but are showing up in the "New Comments" section.
i cant seem to add pages to mangas,fer some reason it keeps telling me to fill all the areas out but it wont let me add a tag or the dedication part,when i click on those they wont type in..
so i cant add pages
i like this new version its ganna take me awhile to get used too it..

Yet another bug, comment count isn't functioning. I just went to one of my Worlds and found a comment there that never showed up on the count in the backroom at all.
Here is a bug that was probably hard to catch but exists. I made another account on this site so that I can play around with myOtaku designs without messing up my page.
In my necro64x account I was playing around with Worlds and made one called "japanculture". I decided I didn't want it so I changed it. In my other account I decided to make the world just in case I change my mind to make "japanculture". I get this error:

You need to have a link back to the myotaku home page so people can find each other then once they see others artworks...that is how you make friends and visit them...you really need that back.

New bug found... I posted a Wallpaper about 1am this morning into the Naruto Hub and it posted in my Profile, but is nowhere in the general population of the wallpapers I have looked everywhere for it and the only place I have found it is in my Profile of Wallpapers. A couple bugs to report on the ads, I have the code for the ad box error:
The requested URL /global/ads/google_cube.shtml was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at theotaku.com Port 80
There's also another ad issue to bring up. The One Piece movie ad banner across the top of the page actually sits on top of the navigation menus when they are moused over and pop down. I have a screen capture of that phenomenon here:
whoa, why can we only sumit one pic per 24 hours?! is that just cause of the upgrade or is that going to be a permanent thing? because if it is i'm going to a different site.
Sorry about that, I knew I left out some important info from my bug report.
Make a note of these specs, cause they're not likely to change, that is until I post any changes to them.
I'm on Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1, and I use both Mozilla FireFox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 6 (not at the same time of course).
I tend to try to troubleshoot things on my end before I make a bug report cause I have had issues before that were native to my machine (and let me tell you I was embarrassed to say the least when that came up).
Anyway, at the moment, I've not had the issue with the update page I mentioned previously coming up all morning since I got on here today, but I did notice that there's a bad link in one of the ads or something. In the backroom the box ad on the right side of the page will sometimes show a "page not found" 404 error (it just affects the ad box, the rest of the page is fine). I'll post the details when I catch it again if I can, I'm sure someone might need the URL that's listed in the error to make sense of it.
My IE also closes when I was trying to add a comment.

Also, I got this when I was replying to messages : "We're sorry, you are not permitted to make two consecutive posts."
I am wondering, say when you are replying to comments on your art, you will often reply to more than one at a time, do you think it might be a good idea to remove that when you are replying to messages?
I Agree there is no next option on the comments and the displayed ones are the old ones. I canĀ“t see my number of comments like I used to in the old portfolio.
Me again, every time I try to add a comment, once I hit submit my internet shuts off, I went back on and it showed my comment had been posted. I made sure it wasn't just my internet, but my internet seems to be working with everything else I do. Thanks for your help.

well, in the FanManga i've submitted i've lost all pages comments and series comments except the cover's ones...also the pages's width looks bigger than before.

When trying to create a world it keeps saying to fill in all the fields.....I filled the ones i could see but apparently it isn't enough. Either i'm missing some or a bug ate them.
Um, I've been having problem with uploading my work, it says fill in all boxes, but it will only let me fill in some of them, no matter how much I click, I can't type in the box like it says to.

alright so i was trying to add a pg to my manga but it wouldnt let me,cause all the fields weren't filled in, well it wouldnt let me fill in them all. some were tags, and some of the newer options that didn't work. help please.

1. The dropdown menus do not overlap the flash ads. Yep, sucks.
2. Even thouse I wasn't logged in, there was "logout" links all over the place.
3. Some of the URLs can be javascript injected (XSS).
4. If the wallpaper submission was limited to 1 post per 24 hours. I managed to somehow break it cause i've uploaded 2 wallpapers. Although it said your limit has been reached blah blah.
When will the article writers have their previously submitted (i.e., under the former system) articles show up in their profiles? I checked Fasteriskhead's portfolio, and it claims that he has 0 creations -- i.e., no published works. I'll have to see how many other profiles are like this.
Unsure if this is a bug, but for whatever reason, ever since VV started up, I've been given an old icon I had about...nnn...two months ago? I don't think it's a cache problem, but maybe.

erm, im not sure if it's just my old laptop or a bug, but everything is a little slow and takes a while to load ^^;
everytime i want to sort something by series, date, or whatever, it either takes a looong time or it doesn't work.
and i don't know how to find the wallpapers that i favorited.^^;
and when I open my portfolio, it doesn't show the amount of *hugs* or favs or other things.
it's kinda confusing and hard to find many things, but I'm sure that's cuz I didn't explore enough. (I will do so after school XD)

about an hour ago i submitted the cover to my manga, and it's in my portfolio. but...i can't add on the second page because it won't let me fill in all the fields required. plus, it says in my portfolio that i haven't submitted any manga but when i click on it my manga shows up. it's really confusing.
So now I'm confused because MyOtaku.com is still there, untouched, but I have to type it in seprately to get there. Will it be attached to this new backroom?
OK, this isnt exactly a bug, but it seems in this version right now you can't delete a post to fix a mistake you make and then re-comment. Plus I don't see any comment preview feature either.
If these are present, then I'm just too tired to see them. Otherwise, I think we could use them. They were very useful on the old site.
I'm not sure if it's a bug, but everytime I visit my own Worlds site, I add a view to it... And MyO sites that were wide and getting cut off at the side on new IE were working just fine when VV was launched. It wasn't getting cut off. But now it is again.
Not really a bug, but once you start things going smoothly, I think you should get a discussion going for questions on how to navigate or suggestions on what might be improved. For instance, being able to preview the worlds' design you're working on instead of having to view it yourself, thereby adding views that shouldn't really count... just a thought.
Oh, and every once in a while I get an error message saying the site doesn't exist, but I think it's my cache catching up...
Well hopefully this is something that will resolve itself over the next couple of days, but my biggest problem I'm running into is that everything, and I do mean everything, even OB. Is painfully slow to load.
Umm, well, not sure if this is just me, but I was editing the intro on my 'Worlds' page, and centered the text I had put in, but it only would center one line at a time on the page: I had to go through each line to add the 'center' thing around it to get it the way I wanted it.
Lots to check out it seems. ^_~ One problem so far, I can't create a world using my own user name SunfallE, I get the message that it already exists even though I haven't created it yet.

Update:Just droppin by to let you know the problem about the portfolio was fixed.
There's an error in the paging feature for PMs. If the folder contains more messages than the page will show (or at least the saved folder - I can't confirm this for any otehr folder), the query fails. From reading the query, I can tell you that the problem is in the LIMIT clause, which is currently being set to 25, -20. I saved the full text of the error message so if you need that, let me know. Otherwise, this seems like it should be enough.
Besides that though, I'm very impressed thus far. The wait has been well worth it. Nice job.

Checking out the new site, (I have to say you have done a very good job here I am impressed) anywho I was in the Fan Worlds clicking away on the old ABC's to get me to the post there and the only thing it was doing was telling there was 20 futures in there, but not letting me in to view them. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if it is a real bug there... Just thought I would let you know...
Got a major issue that's not on my end cause I have other people who've never been to theotaku before having it, and it's intermittent as I try to use the site. I keep getting redirected to the Velegant page with that not-so-helpful message about the cache not being caught up to keep coming back, usually while I'm trying to do something important. The only fix I have right now is to switch web browsers, which makes for navigating the site difficult to say the least.
I also have a design request. Could there be a Black and Green color scheme developed for our Worlds sites? I don't like any of the current dark color schemes that are available and the "Green" scheme is way to bright for my liking.
So far though, I'm impressed with the site, hope that one page stops showing up on me though.
Besides the apparent inability to find a user unless they've posted something on VV, when I did find someone I tried favoriting them but got a popup saying that favoriting failed. Was able to reproduce this multiple times using Firefox. Haven't tried with IE.
I am using Firefox 2.0 and when I go to a drop down menu it appears behind a flash based advertisement.
Also, is it possible to include outside images in worlds posts? I know you can have an embedded image, but I would like the freedom of posting more images than one per post. Just a minor request

Hmm...I don't know if this is one but when I try to remove a message (I believe it's the button with a red dash) in my dashboard, it leads me to a blank page, and the message is still there. ^_^'
I'm not sure if this is a bug or me being dumb, but I haven't had any problems with anything else. I can't seem to delete wallpapers (managed to delete something out of everything but wallpapers, so...)
Before this version I had a lot of things favorited, but now I can't figure out how to view them, much less find out where they are. What happened to my favorites and how can I access them?!

OK, here's a weird one for you. It turns out that some fan art, comics, et cetera, are available to view through the Backroom before they are approved. I hadn't noticed this, so I clicked on an unapproved fan comic and read it. I faved it and commented on it. I can see the thumbnail in my Favorites page (it's called Talk to the Hand), but when I click on it, this comes up. The artist of this picture told me that if a user comments before the work is approved, the work is deleted. I commented on the re-uploaded version that I was sorry for being responsible for the deletion, but then I realized that the re-uploaded comic hadn't been approved yet, either! I bet that artist is really mad at me, right now.
So I guess there are several things that have to be fixed:
1. Keep yet-to-be-approved works from showing up in the Backroom.
2. Do something so that yet-to-be-approved works don't get deleted when someone comments on them.
3. If there is a way, fix the Favorites page so that thumbnail pictures that link to dead links are removed once the link is dead. I don't really want thumbnail pictures in my Favorites page if they don't work.

There are a few pictures in my portfolio that I can't delete. When I try to get rid of them, the page resets telling me to fill in the required fields. It's only on a select few and it's been this way for quite a while. I can't even store them as drafts. They're really old, so maybe that has something to do with it?

I cannot turn OFF "MyOtaku". Everytime I click the switch "turn off" a message comes up that says there is "error" and that I need to "contact an administrator". I made the "MyOtaku" page about 4 years ago. It's very embarrassing to stare at and I just want it turned off. I really do not want to delete my account just because of this obnoxious issue. I had a party the other day and I think one of my guest tried logging into theotaku thru my laptop. I'm not sure what the problem is but everytime I try to access theotaku.com thru that laptop, it says that theotaku.com is having server problems. When I use my desktop computer, I don't have any problems (obviously since I can log into my account).

I tried to upload an avatar from your own wedsite ( www.theotaku.com ), it was called "Peaceful_Afternoon", but was instead plastered with a stock image of some anime boy as my avatar, the same anime boy on one of your banners. I was viewing the "Other Music" Worlds, but the site only shows me the first page. I tried to view them in alphabetical order and it only displayed A through H. I then tried every other possible way of viewing them (freshness, quality, et cetera) and different Worlds were displayed every time. Still, there was no page 2, 3, and so on. I know there has to be more than one page of "Other Music" Worlds because "Other Music" is the third most popular category for Worlds.

EDIT: I've received two gifts now, according to the automatic message, but neither of them are showing up in my portfolio.
Edit 2: Ok, I figured out my problem... The instructions really aren't very clear on how to get to the gifts. For someone who doesn't explore the site very often, I feel this should be made a little easier to understand. I couldn't figure it out until another member explained it to me.

I tried submitting a quiz and after I clicked to go to the final page, it redirected me to the first page. All the work I typed was gone and there wasn't a confirmation message. I hope it got through because it takes an about an hour to make those quizzes and it really sucks when all your work just disappears like that.

I don't really know if this is a glitch or not but I think it is.
I posted a new page for my fan comic that was in the category of "Death Note," but after I submitted it didn't show up in that section of you Backroom where it shows some of the latest submissions of the anime/manga you subscribed to, even tho I did subscribe to death note. And all the other fan arts and other for death note are showing up.

Hello, I was recently looking at pictures on the Otaku, and I obtained a Trojan Horse Virus/Spyware.
I am not blaming the site, but I was thinking about the site's previous problem with hackers.
Do you think they bugged the site?
I did absolutely NOTHING to cause the virus...and now I am getting pornography, and other unwanted adds.

everything in this site seemed slow.. i tried opening this using mozilla, safari, internet explorer.. but still it loaded so slow especially this comment box.. i checked if it was just my connection but no.. coz i can open other sites even download programs in seconds compared to just viewing a comment/navigating on this site which lately is taking 2-3minutes to load... any solution here..?

Hello!
There seems to be an error on a fanart I uploaded entitled The Man In Black. I just uploaded it this morning and I was waiting for a message of confirmation that the fan art had been approved.
However, people were able to view my fan art and comment regarding it. The problem is that it has not even appeared yet on my fan art list.
By the way, I uploaded the fan art again to see if this would be repeated. Hope you could help me with my problem.

While checking around the TV directory at theOtaku.com, it appears the Count Duckula Portal page of the site is missing my duckula e-card. Furthermore, despite me being the only to suscribe to the Count Duckula Portal, the TV directory forgot to show the number of suscribers to that portal, and ended up saying "0" instead.

I can't post my story! I wrote a story that I'm trying to post in my friend's Death Note Club world, but every time I try to post it, over half of it gets erased! I tried posting it in sections too, but when I tried to post the 2nd half, only three sentences showed up and the rest was gone! Why won't it work!? It won't show up in my own world either!

Hmm.. I dunno if this is a bug or not, but when I'm in my backroom and I try to jump to a member that I've subscribed to it doesn't work. I click the button and it doesn't work. It just stays at the same page. ._. It's been like that on all my accounts too.

I highly doubt you ever read this, or even try to fix it... it's ok if you don't... I've already counted this site, myOtaku, and Quizilla as a lost cause anyways. But I can never load this site, or myOtaku... it always says Error Loading Page. I also can never see my Portfolio or wallpapers. If I use this site for anything, it would be loading my wallpapers. I won't hold my breathe, but it would be nice if it could be fixed. I've tried both Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Wallpapers are not loading at all on the submission pages even though thumbnails are showing in portfolios and such. Also a "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" error is returned when attempting to use the "share" links to access images directly.

I was an otaku for about a year or so and was still a member when the transition was made to Vibrant. I have had to get this new account recently and have been experiencing a few problems that weren't there before. I used to not be able to use myOtaku then it kind of fixed itself but even though I can get on myO page it won't let me turn it on so I can actually type text in it. Everytime I try to turn it on it goes right back to being off. I have Windows Internet Explorer and Windows XP if that helps at all. If this could be fixed soon I would appreciate it very much! ^^

I have problems with the site not loading at all. It happens very frequently. It'll ask me if I typed in the right address but I have it bookmarked so it's not like I made a mistake. I also have the hardest time viewing pictures like wallpapers or cards. It'll show the name of the picture but nothing else. That happens a ton too. It's just frustrating because I have to wait an hour or so before anything works. These have both gone on for a while for me and I figure if it hasn't been fixed by now then I should probably mention it.

I know this post is old, but! I've found some buggies that need a squashin'.
I made a new account because someone deleted my old one. They hacked into it, and deleted it. But anyway, I can't turn my profile on for my myO site. Which makes me sad, because I love MyO, and I love all the customations I can make on that site.
Also, it's not showing me when someone comments, or when I have new messages. ._.
But yeah.. I don't know if you still read these comments or not. It would be nice if you could fix it though, or help or something. Please and thank you!

i've noticed a few problems with the fan comics section. say i messed up on a comic page and i want to fix it. i go to the "edit" section of that page and re-upload the image after fixing it. after re-submitting it, i check on the comic and i notice the edited page is now the cover, and the actual page didn't get fixed. i know i didn't re-upload the image to the cover, so i'm guessing it's a bug. it's very frustrating since i'm not able to fix a page i messed up on and i have to keep re-uploading the cover page to turn it back to normal.
another problem i noticed is that you can't view any comic pages other than the cover in high-resolution, which makes some comics hard to read if there's small typing.
do you guys think that they can be fixed? it'd be a big help. :3

...i'm still having problems with the viewing my comment replies thing... though it seems i can't complain that much. hey, I acknowledge that it's hard to get a site running flawlessly and keep it updated and switch over to a version that will hopefully be better in the future. You can't please everyone, especially instantly.
...But could you maybe update us sometimes on whether you're addressing these problems? not trying to complain, just a bit frustrated on my end.

i am new to theotaku, and am very dissappointed, because i keep trying to submit my wallpapers, and i know i am doing it right, but somehow every time i submit one, it says its been submitted but when i try to look at it, it says its been deleted! if you look at my wallpapers on my portfolio, it says there are zero, but there should be two of them that ive made on there! i dont understand why they keep being deleted! please fix it someone, please!

What the hell is going on? My wallpaper profile count and the official count were wrong but now ALL the wallpapers I've made this month have shifted around and even though its supposed to be listed by freshness its not. Wallpaper I made the 5th are up front while ones I made yesterday are now behind all of those. The whole thing is now out of order and not listed as it should be!

I'm using yahoo explorer and When I click on a persons name and go to their portfolio I can't see any symbols for pms as it says I'm not logged in but anything else I click on shows I'm logged in.
Also when are you going to return the numbers to show how many people have downloaded your walls or sent your cards? I hate not knowing! Not everyone clicks on the hugs or favorite buttons so you're left not knowing which one are popular in downloads/sents or not.

Is there a limit to the number of breaks or words you can have in fan words? If so I think I might have hit it, if not, there is something wonky going on with one of mine.
I added a new chapter with a break and it added the text without a break and ending with a little question mark graphic in mid-sentence. Help?

I've been finding lately that I cannot get to my profile by any method I've tried. I can still see certain parts of my profile, like the fanart section or fanmanga section if I type in a tag in the search box, but the whole profile itself will not show. This has been going on for a while, now. I thought maybe it was just a temporary problem because I was able to get to it when Version Vibrant first launched, but it has not changed. A friend of mine also said she cannot get to my profile either. I would very much like that to be fixed, if possible.

Im still kinda new here but Ive been a fan of the site for a long time. But everytime I try to submit someting, like 75% of the time it doesnt go through. I know the formating and dimensions are correct and theres nothing bad about the stuff I submit and the file size isnt to big. It says that its submitted and shows up in my portfolio for a while but isnt counted with my other stuff and never makes it to the public. Why is this happening and when is it going to get fixed because its getting really really annoying and frustrating.

For a while now every time I make a wallpaper any size other than 1024x768 and submit it this stupid site will not allow any other size period! I really really wish you would fix this! Actually i don't think, it's a bug, but i've felt like writing it. It's very confusing, that when i check the comments, i can't see, which work of mine was commented, because there's no link to the pic. it's really hard to answer properly to some comments if i don't now, which pic is the one, what got commeted. When a wallpaper is submitted for approval it goes to the back of all the previously accepted once. Once it's accepted its moved to the front to show its been approved. Well my last wallpaper was never moved to the front like it should have been but my wallpaper count went up indicating it was approved.

I can't view all my comments on my fanart. It only seems to be a problem with a few of my pictures, but the counters seem to have the right number. Having said that, I don't think the counters for the amount of times my art has been favorited is quite right. When V.V. was launched I seemed to suddenly have a lot more favorites on my pictures.

This whole list is specific to the Internet Explorer browser, I used IE 6 when testing these.
Backroom:
"Jump To Member" feature - Non-functional (clicking button after making choice from drop-down does nothing)
"Jump To Category" feature - Non-functional (clicking button after making choice from drop-down does nothing)
Comments:
Fail to open, or open incorrectly (blank white boxes, comment box off-center of page [haven't been able to duplicate that for capture yet]).
* Long strings that do open have rendering issues (examples taken from the comment string for This picture).
Capture as seen in Internet Explorer 6
Capture as seen in FireFox 2.0 (same point in the comment thread).
Portfolio/Guestbook:
Page specific "sign-out" (the little box on the right hand side of the page says to "register or log-in" rather than showing the welcome message).
* Affects certain, but not all members portfolios (This list is links to actual portfolio pages, not to captures, and these ones are affected by the bug, I did test others which do not have the issue).

It's not just you XxKirakishouxX I tried to submit one that size too and it said the same thing and the thumbnail wasn't there and any text you submit if you hit enter twice and add a space between lines it doesn't stay that way it all gets jumbled together in a big mess!

Bit of a bug in the "Block User" feature. According to the description: he members you list below cannot visit your site, PM you, or comment on any of your pieces.
I tested this out with someone, and it works up to a point. As I understand it, access to Worlds are supposed to be prohibited to blocked users (the bold-face text), however, blocked users can access Worlds. I was the "blockee" in the tests, so I know first-hand what I was and was not able to do. Comments and Private messages are prevented as they should be.

Here's a question. How can someone who's "not a member" post content that attracts enough attention to get into the featured slots on the main page?
If there's no easy answer for that, then you have a major bug on your hands with some member portfolios, for example:
This web comic is on the main TheO page in the featured fan comics section (as of 4:25pm EDT) However, attempting to view the artist's portfolio returns a "member doesn't exist" error page (Like This and This).

The search engine doesn't work. When I type a series name example Ragnarok I come across a user with that name but nothing on that series, but when I type in a username example Midori Sakura, or any username. I know they have cards and wallpapers but when using the search engine it comes up blank as if they have never posted anything.

One of the messaging links is busted.
When in a PM message, clicking the "messaging" link in the little blue bar at the top of the page where is says backroom > messaging ) takes you to the main theotaku.com page, not the PM inbox like it's supposed to. Thing is the link says you're in theotaku.com/backroom/messaging even though it's showing the main theota.com page.

Using the "shorten post to new page" renders a blank page when clicking the "view full post" link at the bottom of the abbreviated post. Content shows up in the "shortened" post on the main World page.
Main World link (shortened post at the top)
New Post page, note there's nothing on the page.
All coding is proper TheOtaku coding, no HTML, all caps, BB style tags throughout, and I can access the post in the "Modify Posts" area in it's entirety.

Today, when I tried clicking on the Books/comics link (http://www.theotaku.com/category/books/) on the theotaku homepage to see all the works submitted to the category itself so far (including mine, which can be found in my portfolio page by me and other otakus here), I keep seeing that annoying sign "Sorry, this category does not exist in our network. Why not try it as a tag?"

I went temporarily insane and for some reason submitted a wallpaper in .png format. It gave me a wierd error page, so I resubmitted in .jpg. The "You can only submit once in 24 hours message" popped up, but when I went to My Portfolio it showed 2 copies of of the submission, except one was all black. When I tried deleting it, (8 times, now) it wouldn't go away.
Strangely, that black screen has more comments than most of my other works.

I told my friend about not being able to edit my wallpaper captions but then she said she just now did it and it worked fine including going back and editing again. I went and tried to edit one and add caption to another but it remains empty and never updates! No matter what I do it won't add a caption to my walls!

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but when I change the aligning of posts (center, right), it will revert back to the default aligning (left) if I put a space between the lines.
So if I center this line and put a space like this:
it will push back to the left in this second line, even if it's still in the center tag.

No idea what happened, but one of my comment boxes suddenly went all wonky and wouldn't display anything beyond a certiain point, even though comments kept being added and they would show up in the comment manager.
Not sure if it's a bug in the site or if it's just something on my end, though, since someone else said he could see what he commented there just fine.

Not so much a bug as it is a request, but having an in-depth feature overview to explain the subtle nuances of things here would be very much appreciated. Why do I ask for such a thing? Well, I mentioned having issues with tags on Worlds earlier in the comment thread here, turns out it wasn't a bug, I'm just an idiot who assumed the obvious and thought there was a problem when there wasn't. I thought the tags for World posts would be visible as links in the bar at the bottom of the post along with the date, comment link etc, I just discovered that those don't show up till a person clicks the double arrow next to the word "tags". Would have been nice to know that from the start, it would have saved time and energy from not having to chase down an erroneous bug report.

As far as I've seen, the worlds still function, but navigation between them is very difficult without portfolios available. Everything else seems to be down.
I'm still using FireFox 2 (whatever the current edition), but now I'm on Vista.

Another Guest Poster/Collaborative world issue. Since you can't subscribe to watch for updates to a world, only a user, I subscribe to Timechaser to watch for updates to the Watercooler. But I only see updates if Timechaser himself posts there. If any of the guest posters put something there it doesn't show an update unless I then have that guest poster favorited. But I don't know that someone is a guest poster unless they post. It's very frustrating. You should be able to subscribe to a specific world and see updates for it, not just for specific users. Of if you subscribe to a user you should see all updates to worlds they created, even if someone else posted in it.

Bug Found... I posted a Fan Fic in my World yesterday 4 different times because it would not show in the world and every time I would delete it and re add it it still would not show it. I have went threw it every time looking for Booboos to see if that maybe causing it in the coding with being use to HTML and now moving to BB and there is nothing to stop it from posting... It looks clean and ready to go but the World will not show but a peice of the starting post once you click 'Read full post' there is nothing there to see...
Just thought I would let you know...

Okay, I was wrong. There are some bugs. Sometimes, it won't let me comment. This might just be a complaint, but I agree with Onee-chan (Angel Zakuro), I have to minimize the comment box when reading a post, because like others, I read posts one paragraph at a time. Also, why are some manga pages squished, not fan art, fan manga, almost all the pages I see in most manga have squished pages, I don't really understand the deal with that. And I do miss html, I thought Worlds wouls at least let you use IMG because if you use BBcode, then IMG is aslo acceptable, but it doesn't wotk, many people have tried. And I find it very difficult to find my friends, I have to check through their submitted works to be able to find them.
Sorry, this was longer than I thought, I didn't report much bugs, because a lot of people have said what I've been wanting to say, I just made a short complaint, I am thought now, but you're doing a great job!

Just now I was trying to submit an e-card, but I got a message saying it was not within the size requirements, 350x350. The dimensions of my card are 350x305.
I made it a bit smaller, 335x292, and again I received the message saying it wasn't within size requirements.
And I'm still unable to upload avatars in PNG, even though supposedly the format is now allowable.

well i was going to read through all 3oo- something comments to see if anyone else has noticed this, but it seems that whenever I search for members in the search window, at the upper right hand corner of the screen, it lists fanart fan words, cards, wallpapers etc to be empty. which really scared me at first, but when i went to myO and linked to theO, through member portfolios, it showed the same pages as before but their works were all there. So the problem is that if you search for members, rather than look in their portfolios through myO, their portfolios are empty.

Not to be a bother, but that transparency issue I reported before appears to be a MAJOR rendering issue in FireFox. I'm seeing it occur on any World that uses the sunset theme and had an image embedded, either in the intro, or in posts. Not only are images transparent, but so is the text. I'm compiling the screen captures I made testing the same pages in both IE6 and FireFox 2.0 now, and there is a remarkable and noticeable visual difference. There are too many URLs to list here, anyone with embedded images and the sunset theme appears to be affected by this issue.

The character limit when tagging wallpapers is gone. When I realized this, I began going through and adding tags to most of my wallpapers, but those wallpapers now no longer show up when any of the tags are searched. Also, when someone looks up my name, it says I have 30-some wallpapers when I actually have about 100, and it only displays the 'overly tagged' wallpapers when "view all" is clicked. Hope this gets cleared up soon!

UPDATE: I checked and the submit tab is now right there where it should be on my home computer as well. I was able to successfully submit the piece I had been trying to for the past few days. =)
I was also able to create my world. It took awhile, trying different variations but eventually it accepted a url(and it turned out to be a painfully simple one, too - I [i]would[/i] try that for last, haha). I wouldn't have thought some of the ones I tried before, even with as many members as theO has, would have been people's user names, haha.
Anyway, thanks a bunch for the help though, Adam. I do love Version Vibrant though bugs or no bugs, it's very refreshing compared to the the old site. =D

I'm sure 6 million people have already mentioned this, but in the dashboard for Worlds, the thing that says comments, messages, subscriptions and such, well, they always stay as zeros even if you have messages and comments. when you click them however, it displays all your new comments and messages, but it doesn't notify you of them.

Okay here's an interesting bug: On one of my worlds, the uploaded image is not solid. It's transparent so that the "Sunset" color scheme is visible behind the image which is both detracting and annoying as I have no desire to have my images transparent. It only seems to occur in Firefox (I'm using 2.0), I checked it out in IE 6 and it doesn't seem to be happening there.

Since we have favorites can we change hugs back into how many people downloaded? I personally like to see how many people like my wallpapers and cards enough to download/send. Personally I see no difference between hugs and favorites.
Also as much as I love the new comments section to show what comments people made on my wallpapers can you at least show a link to those wallpapers as I have a lot of wallpapers and I'd like to see which ones their referring to without going through them all. Can you also make it where its optional as to whether or not the views counter counts your vists. Also make the comments count the cards too and again link to said card so you know which one their talking about. Could you also maybe just make the comments section like click here for wallpaper comments and here for cards?
You really need to make a FAQs file or at least a tutorial to guide us through the new stuff, as I'm confused on a lot of the new things. Plus you didn't think this new layout thing through much by deleting things that were important. Example when are the guest books returning? Though the friends file doesn't matter a lot to me it'd be nice to have when I want to send my friend a pm I can look her up in the friends section and not have to hunt her down.
Any hope that you will soon go back to giving senior otaku's back their freedom? I hate that I once again have to have approval to upload or edit my wallpapers or cards,
though I love the idea that I can update it now without taking it down and doing it again. And any time line of when the new one wallpaper per 24 hours rule will end?

and one more thing, mabye instead of changing theO all together, you could have made it a whole different site, so that the people who liked it the old way could stay, and the ones who wanted it different could go. i'm realize all of you put a lot into this site, but it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. i can see some good in it, like fanfiction and some of the new icons, but there are just too many bugs, plus it's hard to find our friends and view there sites. it would be fine if you would just have left the old myO and theotaku the same for all the ones who loved it, but that didn't happen. I'm afraid you might lose a member, if i'm not already banned for expressing my opinion. thanks for reading.

Hmmm, I think I have a bug or perhaps I simply set something up incorrectly in my back room. But the date for when a comment was posted seems to be wrong. Take right now. It's telling me that the date I posted a comment is the 9th and yet for me it's not even 6pm on the 8th.
So is that a glitch? Or did I miss something when I set things up? Oh and thank you for fixing the comment box, I was hating how tiny the reply spot was. Seriously. :p

I as well am getting the four consecutive comments error, regardless of that I hadn't made a comment in days.
Along with my earlier comment about that I can't submit anything (I don't even have the option anywhere to do so), I recently discovered I cannot create worlds either. I get the error telling me that the URL already exists, even though that it does not. I tried it with multiple URLs and I still get that error. This is on both Firefox 2.0 and trying it on IE7.

well, i've realized that the coment manager is a lil bit...."incomplete", in the way that its not saying more than "Worlds"/"Fan Art"....in the description, and there's not saying (in the Fan art case) to wich work belongs (the title of the pic). I dont know if thats some bug or if its something to improve :D

When you go to the search engine and click on search for that user that user comes up but even though you know they have wallpaper and cards it registers that they don't even when you click on either wallpapers or cards it still says its empty. Its fine if you type in the name for their portfolio in the address bar but not when you want to look them up.

When I look into my portfolio I can see 3 of my wallpapers under the section. But when I clik 'view all' it says that me gallery is empty! :( Now I can't locate all my wallpapers except for 3, I had more than that before but I cant find them now.

Recently, I tried embedding a video from YouTube (I put the code in the box for it, and typed :video: where I wanted the video to go), but the video would not show up on my world.
Also, I tried embedding music and polls for my world, but it wouldn't work. Since it worked for the original myotaku.com, I'm wondering if it is allowed now. Anyone care to give some help/advice?

I don't know if this is a technical thing or not, but, when you try to edit your Guest Post, all you can do is add it to one of YOUR worlds. D: And when you edit it then finish it and submit it, it deletes it from the site you Guest Posted on. :P
Also, in the future will there be an option for HTML? Although there aren't A LOT of people on theO who are HTML literate, it's really the only way I can put some things on my site. :P

I'm not sure if this would be considered a bug or if it was intentional but style tags (for using bold, italics, etc.) have to be typed in caps to work. Typing [b]bold[/b] doesn't work, as you can see, without using capital B's. But pretty much all forum software everywhere that uses the same type of tags allow them in either lower case or capitals, and as someone who's used to typing out tags manually rather than using the buttons to insert them, having to type them in caps is highly annoying. It would be much appreciated, and I think it would avoid a lot of confusion with other people who are used to typing them out, if the tags also worked in lower case.

Well, this is about the e-cards. When I create my e-card, there are extra letters or things that aren't suppose to be in it since it wasnt there when I first typed it. Its like typing don't and then it comes out don'trnrn or something like that. Oh and I liked how on the older version you can actually just directly send out an e-card without creating the card and then sending the link. Oh is there any music along with the card now? Sorry but this comment is mostly suggestions and stuff. But the old e-card thing was pretty much better

If one of your friends does a fan comics update, it
1. Doesn't provide a link to the actual page.
2. The "Update Type" column lists "Fan Comics (Page)" which wraps and throws off the layout. So you have to click on the user's name and then try to find their update and hope you get lucky.
Also, when you have new comments, etc.. and you click on the link to view your comments, it should highlight somehow the ones that are actually new. Also under "Site" it just says "Worlds", etc.. without giving you any indication of which world or which post the comment was on. That could be a lot clearer.

Ok here it is.
I tried to modify my manga Festival because none of the captions were coming up. Than it deleted the manga isn't of adding the captions. But than I went into submissions and Festival was able to be updated. I tried to add a new page to it but the update hasn't shown up and the manga itself hasn't reappeared in my Portifolio.

Bugs:
When I go to create a world with my username, Outcast, the url is said to be already in use, I was of the understanding that a url matching the username of a member was saved for their use.
Second one is when I try to create a world with the url Gavin, it tells me the url is already in use, and yet when I search for it in the Worlds by just using theotaku.com/worlds/Gavin, I'm told no such username exists. Call me spoiled, but I'd just like to use my OB username over here.

First the Bug...
I have noticed that the Views on the Wallies *not sure about others* but the Views are counting Views and Downloads so if one person views and then downloads it counts as two not one. Not sure if you wanted it that way or what but thought I would let you know...
Complaint...
In the wallies since I have noticed the bug (if it is a bug) it is false for downloads I do not think it is fair to think that you have more downloads then what you really have. If someone Views it, it should be a View not count as a Download. The Hugs are a cute feature for a kudos thing, but I thought that was what the Favorites was for, if the like it that much they Fav it not hug it... The reason I think it is not fair to have the View and Download together is because it is counting the person that made the wallie as well if they go in there. I have been checking the comments on some of my wallies because the comment warning in my backroom is not working and telling me when I get new comments on them. I have to go to the list and look for new comments the new comments area is not working for me. I did get a reply comment count today, but so far that is all I have seen pop up on there.
Just letting you know about the bug and how I feel about this...

I also subscribed to some members. This worked fine but the 'Jump to member' button doesn't work. I assume it is supposed to take me to the portfolio of the selected member but nothing happens.

A lot of times when I have link issues in the backroom (the ones I brought up before for example), it's just my browser being lazy as I'm finding out.
This isn't so much a "bug" as it is an annoyance, but in wallpapers, the filter options leave us low resolution monitor users out in the cold. Choices to sort by 1024x768 (my current resolution) and 800x600 are not in the size dropdown.
Not really needed in this case, but I want to get into the habit of doing it anyway.

A large number of actions that lead to database errors have been corrected along with a few other bugs :)
To name a few:
- world posts and greetings with certain special characters
- world name duplicates (this was a mistake, name duplicates are ok, url duplicates are not)
- users and categories with some special characters
- loading comments in some situations
- viewing paged items in some cases
... and it goes on.
Keep the feedback coming. However, please, when reporting problems, include the page URL that you encountered the problem on.

On the Messaging page in the backroom, nothing beyond page 1 is accessable (I get the server timed out error page in FireFox). I'm also noticing that there's no easy way to send PM message to anyone here, there's no "send PM" link in the portfolio or anywhere associated with members.
I'm not exactly sure if the bad links I ran into were just my browser being lazy or if they're actually in the backroom somewhere, I'll try to locate them again to be sure before I report them as a bug.

It's not a bug...just kind of a "complaint" maybe? But um, the comment box...you can't minimize it or move it out of the way to see the posts. My short-term memory fails, and I can't remember what people post about so I liked having the box minimized or to the side while reading and then commenting as I went along in a post. ^^; I guess you couldn't change this, but it makes it quite hard to fully remember a post and comment...
Also, MyO and the PM system aren't working too well since theO and MO are connected (share the inbox). It's just odd. And will there ever be a way to see ALL of the people on your subscription list at the same time and whether they updated recently? ^^;

um well i was writing this fanfiction as a post and when i put the words in for italics it wasnt working and when i put the break up to make another pg for another ch that doesnt work. and then when i went on my site to check it out it was only showing prt of the post. and i clicked on the other pg, nothing was there. i dont know if it was just my stupidity or if it's a bug. oh yea is there a different way too look at my site? cause everytime i look at it it counts as a view, idk it was bugging me. thanks for fixing the fan manga problem though. please try to fix the other ones too lol, mabye you can go on my site and fix it or something.. and mabye you could fix the regular myO so us oldies can use it. and it's really hard to find my old pals. it would have been cool if our old sites could have transfered here. although i didnt find anything wrong with the old site. well just focus on the main things and ignore ramblings. ^^

When I tried adding an image to page 3 my 1st guide (The Space battleship Yamato saga) in my world "Sci-Fi Anime Fortress", page 3 ended up repeating the inserted image from page 2 (the series 1 logo of "Yamato"). So, I had to remove the image from page 3 to avoid complications. What I tried to ad on page 3 of that post was the movie 2 logo from the "yamato" series.

Well, I updated my fanart and put different descriptions under them. But you can't automatically view the thumbnails of my art when you get to my portfolio. The only way you can see them is if you click "View All" for Fan Art in my portfolio. I don't want to be a drag, but I can't find my favorites either.

Whoops >.< Even though there's a 24 hour submission thing, I submitted 3 walls in one day, and they're all the same one. I think this happened when I went to "edit" and then pressed submit. Each time I did that a new wallpaper appeared. And I don't know how to delete the first 2 >.

Um, well I'm here again, I can't seem to submit my art, expecially adding pages to my manga. I read the other comments and it seems some people can add stuff, and some people can't....is there something special to it? When ever I try to add something the tag, dedication, and one that lets you know what type the manga is ( brainfreeze moment) things don't work, as in they won't let me type anything in them. Sorry for teh bother.

I noticed that the authors note on previous artwork is missing.
The artist tracker/favorites is hard to find [or I just don't know how to locate it hehe ^^', I'll probably find out eventually] along with my friends.
The youtube embed thing isn't working either, or that could just be my internet explorer [I forgot which version it is].
Also, is there another type of page that include the guestbook signings?
Just a concern, whats going to happen to the old MyOtaku backroom/pages/sites etc.?

I'm no help. =_= Rishi doesn't know aaaanything....But.....Rishi noticed a few bugs. Rishi can't reply to PMs on MyOtaku, and the 'ghost messages' are back......Also, when Rishi visited the 'fanmanga' section, there wasn't anything there!

Hey Alla, I realize you can see it that way, but the only way you'd know is if someone told you. It should be a section under your worlds so you can see at a glance without having to go to make a post. As it is you have to either go to the user who created it and then click on the world, or manually type in the address. That is my issue with it. Although I find myself having to type in a lot of manual addresses as the world navigation system still needs some work.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I can't find my favorites lists. When I go to the deviation it still says it's one of my favorites, but my list is non-existent. (Either that or I just can't find it.) Also, my Author Watch list seems to be gone as well.

Several of the sub-pages in the backroom are actually missing correct URLs, for example, you go into a PM, and at the top you have the link to return to the messaging page, it's missing /backrooom/ part of the URL so you get a 404 error when clicking it. There's another page that like that as well, I can't which it is though.

Not really a bug, but something that I think should be fixed...
In the "comments" section in the backroom, it tells you whether the comment was posted in a world or on a submission, and what type of submission, but there's no way that I can find to get to the actual world post or submission that the comment was posted on.

The only problem that I have found so far thats really a big problem, is I'm trying to set up a world, and and error pops up saying that the URL already exists, but when I go to that URL, there is no site there. I'm not sure what's happening.

Second, I think everyone's avi reverted to an earlier version unless they re-uploaded into VV. I know mine isn't the same, but until I get back to where I can access my image database, I'm coping. =P
Third, and this is kind of a big issue for me: after all the time Adam has spent working on, developing, prepping, and otherwise managing this upgrade, as well as still taking care of the original(-ish) theO, it's really impolite to tell him to just scrap it. Have some patience. Ć_Ć

oh Adam please do something about V.V !(well actually. given all these trouble thats going on for everyone, i'ld rather not have it at all) well nothin much so far. i've only got enough time to hang around the fanarts area. the popup comments are very much pleasantly blocked by the advertisements for Tsubasa Chronicle movie and XXX holic DVD. so yea. man. i cant read my comments in full. and i cant shif the comments box. which makes it all worse. not. the advertisement box didnt close even after clicking it TT grr. enough to make me say that 'i hate you CLAMP' even though i like them
and also. its more of a hassle nowadays to be viewing fanarts. you have to click the pretty Back button on the browser just to simply swith between viewing pieces of fanarts. TT NOTE THE SARCISM. it was more convenient in the past when all you have to do is to click on either (previous fanart) or(next fanart)

Hopefully this gets through.
So far, my only problems have been with comments. I managed to submit one for the Piano Squall thing, but couldn't use any of the emoticons. Every time I would click on them a script error window would pop up and say the problem was that " 'cadet' is null or nonexistant." Now it doesn't even do that, it just won't let me use them. I can't use anything else from the toolbar either.
Also, yesterday I tried to submit this error and it wouldn't let me. The comment box was really small. It was only about the size of the 'submit' button and the toolbar was scrunched up to and didn't have the light blue background at all. I could still type my comment, but once I hit submit, nothing happened. I left it alone for about 20 minutes or so and nothing had changed.
I'm using Windows XP. Good luck with all the bugs. ^_^'

i dont know if its a bug but i tried to submit a page to my fanmanga and i couldn't type in a few of the fields. i passed it over and tried to submit but it said i didn't fill out the required fields. so i tried again and it was the same thing. the 'tags' and 'member dedication' fields dont work

Actually, if you check the Post section of the backroom, and click the Add Guest Post submenu, you'll be able to see what worlds you're allowed to guest post in.
Otherwise I'd assume the person who added you does have to notify you. But yes, there is a way to check.

And like CosmicSailor said, it appears to be just the One Piece banner that won't submit to the dropdowns. I sat for about ten minutes refreshing the screen and cycled through the entire banner selection, and the rest of them worked fine.

This is certainly a bug report:
Everytime I try to submit my comment, it seems to load it but a pop up window comes up and says that internet explorer needs to close and then all my windows close >_< . I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0. Is this a bug? because it is annoying to go back to here all over again.

Not so much a bug as an annoyance. Either there's going to have to be a way to link to multiple comments when replying so you can reply to more than one comment at one time, or the "no consecutive comments" thing will have to go. I couldn't find my favorites, though I know that a record of them is being kept somewhere since they still exist.
Also, I noticed that the artists' comments are gone (or at least not visible).
It's a bit confusing to navigate, but I'll probably get used to it after a few days. All of my old subscriptions are gone too...which is kind of annoying, but I'll probably find everyone again eventually.
But THANK YOU for allowing us to sort wallpapers by screen resolution. ^_^

I don't know if this has already been called to your attention, but I noticed something about all the submissions...
You know how artists can put their own comments about the stuff when submitting? Well... you can't see it when you're viewing the stuff. The only reason I know it's still there somewhere is because I went to edit something and my previous comments were there.
Is there a reason that these aren't viewable yet, or is it just a bug?

It took me about a day and half to finally get on here...and then every time I tried to go to theotaku.com it gets a bad response from server or it can't find it or something...I got lucky enough to be able to type this! If it helps, I am using firefox.

Wow, lots of bug reports, poor Adam.
I've only been here 10 minutes or so, so just one thing with the wallpapers. I uploaded a wall that is 1600x1200, and I specified that when I was filling out the submission form. When I hit submit, it gave me a message that the wallpaper doesn't meet the size requirements. But the wallpaper still posted, although a 1600x1200 version isn't available.
I'm also not sure how to find my site or my friends, but that's not a bug, it's just me. I still have to figure out this whole Worlds thing. Keep up the good work!
I'm using Firefox 2 and Windows XP.

It took me a while to figure it out but it's simple once you know where to look. Click your portfolio link in the box on the right side of the page and scroll down to where the thumbnails are. Even if you don't have anything submitted in a category, you can still click the "view all" link and at the top of the page is a blue box with the number of submissions you have for it, and the link to your favorites.

I'm reporting quite a few bugs here, but I tend to notice weird things. Here's a gem for you though. All submissions in "Fan Words" which ID the user who posted them, and the name of the World where they posted them, are all indicating they were posted to a World called "0", that's the text in the links. Now, the links themselves are still correct, they take you to the correct World, it's just the name of the Worlds aren't showing up.
Another thing I noticed was that view counts on submissions don't seem to be working either.

Found another. You cannot properly modify a guest post. In doing so, you do not have the option to save it to the WORLD it was originally posted in. Instead, it defaults to one of your own WORLDS and does not list the WORLD you were given permission to post in as a guest at all.

Okay i may not know all your answers but i saw you comment and i thought i'd try and help you.
You go to your site by making yourself a world. You may already know that though. All you do is look at the bars at the top of your page [backroom or VV] and it lays it out for you.
The way you find your friends and look at the sites is using your MyO site. If you let say go to my MyO site [x.PUNK .x. ZERO.x] go to profile and it leads you to my VV site and you just add me or look at my site that way ^.^
As for the messaging system i don't know. They might not have everything figured out yet that's why.

You cant tell if a message is new or not cuz it doesnt look any different. when i got on for the first time it said i had 0 new messages but when I looked at my old backroom ( i had it favorited) i had 26 new messages! Yet another comment related bug, comments on other member's worlds that I'm subscribed to are not being reported in the backroom either. It seems the only comments I'm seeing right now are on Official Worlds most of which I've commented to, like the Bug report here. No other comments or comment replies are showing up at all.

I am not sure how to get from MyOtaku to the Otaku web site without going the long way. (google or other search engine).
When replying to messages on the Otaku it does not mark the messages on MyOtaku as "already read" and gives me the replied message back. Also I cannot reply to messages on MyOtaku.

More on that comment count bug, it's not just the comment count, it seems the whole comment reporting system in the backroom is having issues.
1) It's not reporting any comments made to my Worlds on the comments page in the backroom at all. These are the comments others have made and my replies to those comments.
2) My counts on the statistics page are all reading 0 when there's a whole list of comments on the comments page.
3) Replies to my comments aren't being listed as "Comment Replies" as intended, but are showing up in the "New Comments" section.

i cant seem to add pages to mangas,fer some reason it keeps telling me to fill all the areas out but it wont let me add a tag or the dedication part,when i click on those they wont type in..

Here is a bug that was probably hard to catch but exists. I made another account on this site so that I can play around with myOtaku designs without messing up my page.
In my necro64x account I was playing around with Worlds and made one called "japanculture". I decided I didn't want it so I changed it. In my other account I decided to make the world just in case I change my mind to make "japanculture". I get this error:
"A database error has occured with the following application: . Description of the error associated with the script: An error occured while executing a query. New bug found... I posted a Wallpaper about 1am this morning into the Naruto Hub and it posted in my Profile, but is nowhere in the general population of the wallpapers I have looked everywhere for it and the only place I have found it is in my Profile of Wallpapers. Plus it stuck it to the back of the file not in the front like it use to???
Bug or something new going on?

A couple bugs to report on the ads, I have the code for the ad box error:

There's also another ad issue to bring up. The One Piece movie ad banner across the top of the page actually sits on top of the navigation menus when they are moused over and pop down. I have a screen capture of that phenomenon here:

Right now, it seems to just be that One Piece banner that's doing it, I haven't seen the same issue with other banner ads yet.

Sorry about that, I knew I left out some important info from my bug report.
Make a note of these specs, cause they're not likely to change, that is until I post any changes to them.
I'm on Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1, and I use both Mozilla FireFox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 6 (not at the same time of course).
I tend to try to troubleshoot things on my end before I make a bug report cause I have had issues before that were native to my machine (and let me tell you I was embarrassed to say the least when that came up).
Anyway, at the moment, I've not had the issue with the update page I mentioned previously coming up all morning since I got on here today, but I did notice that there's a bad link in one of the ads or something. In the backroom the box ad on the right side of the page will sometimes show a "page not found" 404 error (it just affects the ad box, the rest of the page is fine). I'll post the details when I catch it again if I can, I'm sure someone might need the URL that's listed in the error to make sense of it.

Loving the new design and features. :-)
I've already found several bugs.
1. The dropdown menus do not overlap the flash ads. Yep, sucks.
2. Even thouse I wasn't logged in, there was "logout" links all over the place.
3. Some of the URLs can be javascript injected (XSS).
4. If the wallpaper submission was limited to 1 post per 24 hours. I managed to somehow break it cause i've uploaded 2 wallpapers. Although it said your limit has been reached blah blah.
There was some others but i've forgotten. :-(

erm, im not sure if it's just my old laptop or a bug, but everything is a little slow and takes a while to load ^^;
everytime i want to sort something by series, date, or whatever, it either takes a looong time or it doesn't work.
and i don't know how to find the wallpapers that i favorited.^^;
and when I open my portfolio, it doesn't show the amount of *hugs* or favs or other things.
it's kinda confusing and hard to find many things, but I'm sure that's cuz I didn't explore enough. (I will do so after school XD)

OK, this isnt exactly a bug, but it seems in this version right now you can't delete a post to fix a mistake you make and then re-comment. Plus I don't see any comment preview feature either.
If these are present, then I'm just too tired to see them. Otherwise, I think we could use them. They were very useful on the old site.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, but everytime I visit my own Worlds site, I add a view to it... And MyO sites that were wide and getting cut off at the side on new IE were working just fine when VV was launched. It wasn't getting cut off. But now it is again.

Not really a bug, but once you start things going smoothly, I think you should get a discussion going for questions on how to navigate or suggestions on what might be improved. For instance, being able to preview the worlds' design you're working on instead of having to view it yourself, thereby adding views that shouldn't really count... just a thought.
Oh, and every once in a while I get an error message saying the site doesn't exist, but I think it's my cache catching up...

Umm, well, not sure if this is just me, but I was editing the intro on my 'Worlds' page, and centered the text I had put in, but it only would center one line at a time on the page: I had to go through each line to add the 'center' thing around it to get it the way I wanted it.
Great job, though. It looks awesome!

When trying to pm the old way it has an error page and when pming in the new way it does not work either.

There's an error in the paging feature for PMs. If the folder contains more messages than the page will show (or at least the saved folder - I can't confirm this for any otehr folder), the query fails. From reading the query, I can tell you that the problem is in the LIMIT clause, which is currently being set to 25, -20. I saved the full text of the error message so if you need that, let me know. Otherwise, this seems like it should be enough.
Besides that though, I'm very impressed thus far. The wait has been well worth it. Nice job.

Checking out the new site, (I have to say you have done a very good job here I am impressed) anywho I was in the Fan Worlds clicking away on the old ABC's to get me to the post there and the only thing it was doing was telling there was 20 futures in there, but not letting me in to view them. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if it is a real bug there... Just thought I would let you know...

Got a major issue that's not on my end cause I have other people who've never been to theotaku before having it, and it's intermittent as I try to use the site. I keep getting redirected to the Velegant page with that not-so-helpful message about the cache not being caught up to keep coming back, usually while I'm trying to do something important. The only fix I have right now is to switch web browsers, which makes for navigating the site difficult to say the least.
I also have a design request. Could there be a Black and Green color scheme developed for our Worlds sites? I don't like any of the current dark color schemes that are available and the "Green" scheme is way to bright for my liking.
So far though, I'm impressed with the site, hope that one page stops showing up on me though.

Besides the apparent inability to find a user unless they've posted something on VV, when I did find someone I tried favoriting them but got a popup saying that favoriting failed. Was able to reproduce this multiple times using Firefox. Haven't tried with IE.

I am using Firefox 2.0 and when I go to a drop down menu it appears behind a flash based advertisement.
Also, is it possible to include outside images in worlds posts? I know you can have an embedded image, but I would like the freedom of posting more images than one per post. Just a minor request

Hmm...I don't know if this is one but when I try to remove a message (I believe it's the button with a red dash) in my dashboard, it leads me to a blank page, and the message is still there. ^_^'

I'm not sure if this is a bug or me being dumb, but I haven't had any problems with anything else. I can't seem to delete wallpapers (managed to delete something out of everything but wallpapers, so...)
