Actually, pink used to be a boys' color. Girls and women wore blue because it was a cool, gentle color. Boys wore pink and then red when they grew up. During Nazi Germany gays had to wear pink badges to indicate that they were 'half men'.

hmmm...probably because "light red" was seen as a "whimpy" color to early civilization and given to women as "their" special color complete with a "fancy" title to cover it up? (*giggles*)
