Yeah, sorry I can't help more! I haven't used it in a long time, and even then I sucked at it. XD People that have gotten really good at using gimp are chibi-ann-chan and innocent heart. :) I'm not sure who else uses it though. So you can ask them sometimes, although Meg (innocent heart) isn't that active anymore.

I use similar sorts of techniques on my cards like on this page. You know, where I have the boxes behind some of the text to make it more visible. And as for effects, if gimp has "strokes" which are the borders around the letters.

Hmm. Well, doesn't Gimp have some sort of effects you can use on the text? Or can you make shapes, like rectangles behind the text? That way you could mess around with those and see how different colors look...um, I'll go look through my cards and show you what I mean with the rectangles.

Brushes are differently ur thing.
