Actually, all of the original seven Varia members are based on the seven deadly sins (yeah, that's certainly not a cliche, Amano-san...). With the exception of Flan... I guess he breaks the stereotype? In terms of member replacement, he's certainly not greedy like Mammon, and as far as I know, not representative of gluttony like Mosca was. So he's just the representative oddball? (Maybe... not. I dunno. *shrugs*) He certainly is... odd o_o XD

they are all named after sins and nasty things :] i didnt actually google them i just know these things :] although you DID tell me the Marmon one :] ima still call them Marmon and Fran :] ^^

Meh, it's the R-L thing; there's no specific R or L in Japanese, so it's usually romanized as an R (but sounds like a cross between an R and L, with a little D thrown in @.@)... but I guess it's all preference until an official name is out (unless the English manga is the official version)? Anyways, I'm sorry, but unless "Fran" is short for "Fransisco" or something, it's a girl's name to me x_x Besides, flan is sweet :) I would also say this is where the Zoro/Zolo thing came from.

I can understand "Mammon" too; "mammon" is another word for money, and his character is based on the deadly sin of greed. It's just that in Japanese, to "fake" an R sound, they hold out a vowel. This can confuse people (translators especially) when they can't tell if there's supposed to be an R there or not XD

Don't blame the children; the blame should most likely fall on the people in charge of raising them (and you can blame the media for making children look like monsters 9_9). If the child is acting up more than what you can expect, you gotta wonder how they were raised. Parents need to be parents... there's no excuse. I understand that some are busy working, but STILL... besides, we were all children once :) Not to mention, children are the world's future. So we'd better hope that they get raised right o_o

Yeah, Flan's funny; it's just a little disturbing how he can such say morbid things with a straight face o_o I just kind of wish the author would tell us more about him. That is... if there isn't anything we wouldn't want to know about o_o
