Look at how much we've been commenting back and forth. Have I been bothered? No. You didn't necessarily ask for help, but I've been giving you some advice on things. You don't think I'm scary, do you? Lol. It's the same with them. Trust me, girl! Shy or not, it's helpful to ask others for advice. :) I'm always HONORED when someone asks me for help on things. It's flattering really. It's never a bother. If anything, it makes the person you're going to feel a lot better about themselves! XD And I know, being their good friends, that Ritona and sweetdevil are just like me in that they always want to help improve art and give constructive criticism. They aren't bothered. :)

Then you should do that. I really think you should ask them for their honesty. Or heck, always come to me!! XD Or Ritona Raito. She's a sweetie, but she knows her stuff...she may seem intimidating, but really, she's great. She will give you a proper critique and suggestions to improve. Same with sweetdevil. So seek out some of us senior graphic artists. ;D And we'll be willing to help. <3

See i WANT me friends to tell me that stuff...they hardly do but some people do tell me whats wrong and what would look better.i ask my sister to tell critique cuz shes in a Graphic media class(though i have been going graphics longer than here)

Well, I'm just saying that I suggest you try them out some time. Regardless of your opinion of "being like everyone else." Lol. It never hurts to expand your skill sets for the future. :)

Friends are like that though. Haha. They never want to make a true critique. XD' I sometimes go out of my way to ASK my friends, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS. AND BE HONEST. Just to improve lol! Some of my best friends on here and AP are the ones that told me straight-up "this looks wrong...I think this would be better..."

well i kinda like my style cuz not many people use it and if some do it doesnt look right.i first want to see how far i can get without using them.i will Layer images though

Lol. Well, what program do you use? In photoshop and such...well, gradients are used all the time. It's when it isn't just a single color. One color flows into another. I use them all the time. HERE is a tutorial on them.

You certainly won't be like "everyone else." Though trust me, using such things helps with quality. Being able to know and learn new techniques, like properly using textures, creating your own, using brushes, and gradients...they really show that you are versatile and can make quality things. Not saying what you make isn't quality! Not at all. :) Just saying that, much like ANYTHING people do, the more you learn and the more you experiment, the better you can become.

Trust me. ;D If you still love creating graphics like this in a couple of years, you will be bored of just using a plain colored background.

You can do so many things with them...and they are really building blocks for styles.
