I will now summarize everything I've learned from hearing about others: "Life isn't any goddamn fair". (excuse the cuss word)
I guess the only legacy I've got is Harvard and Princeton, but those are from my cousin and uncle, so I don't know if it'd really count. And, they've got different last names than me, so.....
She probably did more than me than.
Ah well. At least I have two things going for me: I'm a Stanford legacy (thank you cousin LOL) and I live in a really noncompetitive state heeheehee.
Dude there are so many ISEF/USAMO/USABO/etc rejected from HYPSM.
Tbh I think that admission at those schools is like a lottery where they just pick random people out of a bucket because that's what the stats look like to me. Some amazing people who interned/started nonprofit organizations/etc with 2300+ were rejected, but then I also saw people who were accepted with barely any ECs and a 1900 on the SAT lolol.
No, she was actually quite amazing. Her GPA was like...4.6. I think she was in the band, and did sports.
I swear, in CA, if an asian doesn't win a huge competition, there's practically no hope into getting into top colleges. xD
Oh wow. o___O
Did he/she have no ECs or something? o3o
have you ever been on collegeconfidential?
You should read the 2016 RD/EA results forums for HYPS. The stats are insane-even for the people who were rejected. o__O
WOW IM SO JEALOUS. I'D LOVE TO GET THAT SCORE THEN GET INTO STANFORD. >.> *cries* Someone I know who got a 2370 was only able to get into UCLA. I mean, that school is in the top 50, but not as good as HYPSM!
Whyyyy must I live in CA?! But then again, the weather is beautiful here. :3
Oh yeah I'd imagine. CA is SO competitive. I pity you. You're around millions of Asian geniuses so you'll probably have to go all out to get into HYPSM. My cousin got into Stanford with a 2100 on his first SAT and a 2270 superscore. He didn't qualify for NMSF because he got like a 180 on his PSAT He wasn't even ranked first in his class (weighted gpa of like a 4.2 rofl) but he still got in.
If we lived in California, he would have probably been flat out rejected... xD
There are pros and cons to living in one of the worst states in the nation hahaha.
I've still got a year until the NMSF, so I have a bit more time to cram my brain. My state is large, though, and the qualifying score is really high. >.> I'm jealous of your guys'! I can probably pull off that score the next time I take the PSAT, lol. xD
Jane Austen.
And LOL inorite? xD
Well, tbh, I was kinda enthusiastic about starting to study, and I was overjoyed and wanted to take more SATs when I got a 2400 on one of my practice tests but... that's about it.
Now I don't want to study anything anymore.
If I keep being this indolent then I'll end up failing the PSAT and losing my chance of qualifying for NMSF LOLOL.
thank goodness I live in a bad state-the qualifying score is like a 209 or something lolol
LOL Who'd be ardent about the SAT? xD It's practically impossible to have a predilection towards the SAT!
Anyways, thanks for the e-card! I agree, the typography turned out great! May I ask what font you had used for the "I'll be there"? :3

Yeah haha. There is a section where you can put the names of every relative who is an alumnus of that university.

LOL it's true. xD
That should count.. I hope. And lucky.
I think Harvard gives more weight to legacies than Stanford does TBH LOL.
But you can still write their names in the legacy section since you're related~
