this is really clever! i live in canada but i think if i lived down there and clinton was elected, i would move up here as well. great e-card though, i haven't seen one that clever in ages...
well i apologize for starting a ruckus (though that's just what i do...)
i can respect your opinion now that i hear it explained (although i still think preventing more soldiers from dying is more important than validating the deaths of those already gone)
mostly the reason my anger all came out at that was because, well, from just the ecard and the caption you sound just like all the people i constantly have to listen to and loathe internally XD
but from the... below explanations i can see that you're not, so i'll back off.
apologies for the political skirmish XP
Hey now people let's calm down. I don't want a political battle to arise ^^;
it's fine if you were just throwing out your frustrations Shadow-san I really don't mind (though i would have liked a heads up before i felt bad ^^;).
i understand that there are those who support the war and those who don't. i think the only reason i support it is because if we back out now
1) the terroists that we are fighting (whether they were in Iraq or not) will believe they can get away with anything
2) the soldiers who have already died for the sacrifice of their country, will be in vain
We can not allow their deaths to be of no purpose. they died for a cause and a pray that that cause will be sought through til the end.
Thank you for backing me up Jessie-kun (remind me to give you a big hug tommorow) and I admire your persistence (and big vocabulary ^^; ) Shadow-san . . . but please . . . it was just an ecard! *falls over* I was just trying to be funny ~anime sweatdrop~
Okay! End of discussion! If I see anymore fighting or argueing for that matter I will delete this ecard (woot I sound like a mod =P )
~Colleen the Great~X_X
p.s. oh and Jessie-kun . . . I'm not a hippie! *falls over again*
p.p.s. what did you mean by 'hippie in rehab'? o-O
must question you further tommorow! -3-
i don't think i really need to explain my last comment, i meant it the way it sounded; and i know it was uncalled for, but who doesn't say uncalled-for things when they get ticked off? saying i.luv.kiba doesn't support the war might be plausible if she hadn't just chosen to quote a mccain-ism at me about the necessity of the war. i can understand the e-card's supposed to be funny, but the war is not. i never trashed the armed forces, i never said a WORD about them. as i recall my remarks were about the president. the worst i can say about the men serving in the army is that they were misled by bush in the first place because there were never any terrorists in iraq before we started the war. my dad's been in the military, but that doesn't mean he supports this pointless mess we've dug ourselves into. he listens to reason and follows the news and knows the real reason the war was started.
my comments actually aren't meant as a personal attack at i.luv.kiba, even though that's what they've turned out to be, they're more of an overload of frustration at peoples' refusal to see what's going on even after eight years of yell.
heh, sorry, quoting a military-raised war-fiend to convince me of the necessity of the iraq war is like quoting the bible to convince me evolution is bogus. the necessity of the iraq war is that bush wants to be just like his daddy and never admit he was wrong in the bargain. and isn't it a great bargain for him; he's leaving and he doesn't have to do any of the clean-up. yup, leave his mess for whatever poor schmuck gets elected next. nice strategy, georgie!
sure, canada is pretty. why don't you take a platoon of conservative developers there and knock down all the trees.
I don't know much about the American political system or your politics, but I do know that I like Democrats cause they're more like Liberals up here. I hope a democrat gets in and fixes your crazy country before a bunch of you come up here just 'cause you don't like it down there. If McCain is the guy following Bush then I sure hope he doesn't get in.
GO CANADA. WE WIN.
"Only the most deluded of us doubt the neccesity of this war."
-John McCain
=P
Actually I'm not sure what party I am. I just trust McCain the most out of the candidates. But if a Democrat were to win I'd want it to be Obama. The only thing I'm POSITIVE of is that I don't like Clinton.
And I've been to Canada before. It's really pretty ^-^
and if mccain wins, I'M moving to canada and living with my boyfriend. MORE iraq war, courtesy of mccain, is NOT what we need.
and if you're republican, you wouldn't like it in canada anyway.
