My reason for smiling is simple. A person looks so much more attractive to others if they are smiling. It's a great first impression. Who wants to meet someone for the first time who is scowling? Besides, when you smile, it makes others want to smile as well. Thus, you are creating this chain of making people happy. Happy people make the world so much more bearable. And, doesn't it feel good knowing you made someone else feel good? I know it does for me. My being happy and always smiling isn't for my own benefit. It's so that others can feel welcome and know that I care about them, genuinely. And, if they smile back at me, I know that my job is complete, and I can go to sleep happy. :)
