When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of two animes: Baccano! and Eden of the East. I couldn't decided which one to pick since I wanted to make something with them anyways, but CleaversForKids got to Baccano! first and it's a great entry :) So here is Takizawa.
My Review:
I recommend Eden of the East because I don't think you will be disappointed by it. It is only 11 episodes long and keeps you wanting to watch the next right after another. I finished it in a day, not pausing because I wanted to know what would happen next. The story revolves around a terrorist attack in Japan called Careless Monday and a mysterious character, Akira Takizawa, who is trying to recover his lost memory and has the help of a phone...a phone loaded with 8 billion yen. I won't say anymore about the plot, other than it is new and different in a good way, so no spoilers are ahead.
Takizawa is very likable and adds comedy throughout the series. He is the driving force in the series and a great one at that. I personally enjoyed the art( the backgrounds were very good as well as character design), it is different from others that I have seen and stands out more to me. This card was inspired by the opening theme which includes many shapes and colors.
Because the anime is so short, there are two movies that follow up, which are definitely needed. So if you are looking for an anime with mystery and suspense, then this anime will do the job.
