Do you have any kind of specifications as to the appearance of your charas? like hair color or eye color maybe? lol...hehe..or could we just wing it? cause it would help the artists just so we know our limits and what not...

What type of book are you writing? A manga, or mostly text with a bunch of pictures?

no you don't have to be part of the book process i would not force that upon you.
but if you are at all interested in making characters then that's great!! i welcome that with open arms

so... if we dont want to work in the book we dont have to? because im kinda good at designing characters but i can never really draw the same person twice
