Create theOtaku's New Header Mascot (Prizes!)The time has come for theOtaku.com to feature a new header mascot - and we want you to create it. If that wasn't cool enough, consider yourself bribed with some awesome prizes.
Here's the deal:
Submit an original work of art to this challenge before our deadline for a chance to have that piece used as theOtaku.com's header mascot. The top-3 submissions will also win a copy of Anime Studio Debut 8, which is awesome software to help you create 2D movies, cartoons, anime and cutout animations (retail $49.99). Winners will either be chosen based on member voting or based on staff selection, depending on the number and quality of entries.
Here are the requirements:
- Character must be an original creation
- Must complement the colors of this site
- Must be twice as wide as it is tall (for example 500 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall)
- Keep in mind that the final work will be cropped/resized down to 125 pixels tall
- Solid background color (#4E96D1 preferred, but keep a transparent background version on your computer just in case - we'll crop out the background color)
- Character can optionally be an interpretation of "Spikey" - our original mascot, but this is not required
- If you can fit two characters, that's possible as well, but we'd prefer one
- The character must embody theOtaku.com's friendly and creative spirit
