Awesome. The backround should be a sunset. The blue color contrasts well to warm colors in the backround. You'd have to shade it a bit more if it were a sunset backround.

I really like this, your brush work is nice, it indicates a flow for the eye to follow, chocobo's are so cute! I like sunset for background, just cause blue/ orange compliment, maybe a lighter orange/yellow/pink effect..It'll look great

A midnight sky would look pretty cool. But I think it looks great just the way it is.
