Oooh! Very cool! b^_^
Though I've seen artistic interpretations of an older Team 7 before, there aren't too many of them, so the idea is still a fresh place to attempt some spring-boarded creativity.
Here we see a lovely background, a rare treat from the Erin-chan. Though it doesn't quite fit with the rules of perspective, it still kicks the crap out of anything I could do, especially since you haven't had much experience with BG's.
In the future, if you need a background for a Naruto pic, I'd say the fence is a nice choice considering it's a common theme in that manga. However, if you use it again, I'd suggest adding more texture to it, as to mimic Masashi Kishimotos style. In that same venue of design, Id also suggest adding things like weathered posters to it. Its that kind of intricacy that makes Naruto backgrounds come alive.
As far as design goes in re-creating everyones 3 favorite Genin ninjas in their slightly later years, you did a pretty good job. Personally, I dont think Narutos design works as well as the others, especially considering his now increased stature. The color of the Naruto-swirl on his T-shirt doesnt quite flow with the other colors, and the bright-orange long pants dont quite work well with the rest of his garb, or the garb of Sasuke & Sakura.
I do however like how you improved the way his hair is drawn. It always bugged me with how geometric it was in the manga. Personally I would have made it shorter, but thats just my opinion. ;)
Oh, and you did an excellent job on his head-band. b^_^
As for Sakura, Im liking her new design a bit better. I love the way you did her hair. The length you chose works perfectly with her new stature, and it just generally looks very well-done. Plus, you got the color just right. That bubblegum-pink is hard to emulate. =) The texture isnt bad, either.
You did a nice job on the rest of her face, mainly with her expression. You focused the eyes perfectly, and I myself am still having trouble with that (though, if I remember correctly, her eyes are supposed to be green, not blue).
As for her outfit, I love the sleeveless red kunoichi attire you gave her. Although, I definitely think it could have done without the blue zig-zag. The blue on her upper-arm is fine, but that zig-zag sort of disrupts her altogether look.
As for Sasuke, Im liking his new whited design on his shirt. It ended up looking pretty cool, so good job on design there. The same goes for how you did his trademark collar and sleeves.
You did a nice job on rendering his shorts and belt as well.
However, his bodily proportions look a bit off here, especially compared to the other two. He looks as if hes being dwarfed by Naruto, and on top of that the segments of his arms and legs arent quite matching up in length either. His facial-expression is excellent, but its over-shadowed by his body being out of proportion.
But aside from those few things, this is a very well done submission. Overall, the colors have the same, lovely quality weve come to expect from The Erin-chan, and that alone makes this pic a joy to see. b^_^ Excellent work, Erin-chan!
This is actually a cool idea you had. ^^
The bg looks really good. I like hoe you put those little lines in the wood. Little stuff like that always catches my eye, for some reason. ^^
Again, great job! b^^
