Very true, people come to the specific sections to see exactly that, FMA, Naruto whatever, they dont feel like seeing all the random crap that gets put there. Just put it where it belongs. I dont mind ocs they just belong in their own section. I dont mind yaoi either, but I think that even if it were like a Ed/Roy pairing it should be in a seperate category.

I agree with everyone below my comment. saiyukiluver, there SHOULD be a section just for OCs, or at least put them in Original Anime section... flooding the FMA section is just plain rude and stupid. If Ed is in the picture (or Roy, Envy, etc.) put it in the Crossover Anime section. I do draw my own OCs (for my stories and fanfictions) but I don't flood the FMA (Naruto, etc) sections... Love the picture btw. Sorry for my ranting... oh, and Metal Paw? XD I agree. I am a yaoi fan with yaoi-loving fangirl friends (We're a little weird, I admit, but still, I love every single one of them XD) Again...sorry for the ranting! THANK YOU!! You are SO right! There are too many OCs in the Full Metal Alchemist section now. Sometimes I go check it out and a whole page is full of Oc girls and Oc girls kissing or hugging Ed. And they all seem to have the same story. They're all alchemist or in the army for some strange reason. Now don't get me wrong, some OCs are pretty interesting but enough is enough. Put them in the Original Anime section for pete's sake! Cute Ed by the way. Luv it!

This is a v. nice picture of Ed. Exactly what I was thinking...there seem to be a growing number of Sueish OCs in this section. There's nothing wrong with drawing OCs themselves...they just don't belong in with the FMA fanart.

I dislike it when people pair up their oc with the main character, but its fun to think what would happen if somehow your character and the main character ran into each other, like an episode, that pretty much what I do. It's like on episode of fma with new characters. lol and usually the character I made up dies... ha ha ha

nice going Kokkoii, that's what I was going to get to. Yes, there should be at least one FMA reference in an oc drawing for it to make sense (automail for example). But now, on the other hand, not everyone's good at drawing so who knows if that "poor drawing" was actually an attempt to make it look "pretty" just like the fanart pros here?

Saiyuki that may be true but you have to relize, that may be with some people but not all of them, i try my utter hardest to draw my oc, and for it to get commented, by my friends and others, my coloring takes about half an hour, or more then that, even about three or more then that. sometimes, there are newbies here, that can't quite draw as well yet, and are trying there BUTTS off to draw, really good, and color also, as SENIORS, of the otaku, its our duety to tell them whats right and whats wrong in a nice way. just like freshmen coming into a school, yeah there annoying but we gotta be a little nice to there annoying selves and tell them where to go, because where upperclassmen, and there new.

There is a matter of having limited popularity when a picture is in Original Anime, but given the right tags, it shouldn't matter too much. I mean, some of the most popular tags are "fma", "naruto", "OC", and "original." I'm sure it can be argued that pics with popular tags become significantly more popular themselves, so not posting in the actual FMA or Naruto category wouldn't hurt as much as you'd think. Of course, that's just me shooting off some ideas. :)

I totally agree with you I am a fan girl and have an Oc but seriously it has gotten out of hand if you look tword the back of all the fan art you notice that there are practically no O.cs there now the fan girls (including me) have found this site and post alomost every picture they draw. I think i speak of alot of people when i say Fan girls..... chill on the fan art. I also like to show my fan girlism (i just made that up) by creating fan fics so its on your site and you dont flood the site with O.cs! Sure draw your o.cs but dont put alot of them up DRAW MORE OF THE REAL CHARACTERS! If ed say this site he'd probably be ashamed because of the fact that its being taken over by O.cs -kitty koma

Hmm ok first of all, like I said in another comment related to this, everyone has the right to use their imagination the way they want. Second, I totally agree with the idea about putting our oc's under Original Anime, but who actually goes ahead and checks out that category more often than the one of an existing anime??? Don't you think people put their ocs in such a popular category (FMA...Naruto...)because they want to be recognized? At least I do, though I don't draw very well...

I'm partially in agreement and partially not. The thing that annoys me are the OCs that are... well... Mary-sues, to put it bluntly. Y'know, knew the Elrics when they were kids, have alchemy, grow up to be such-and-such's wife... Bleh. If it weren't for that, OCs would be more like side-characters that had their story followed.

I really have to say how much I agree with you about this. I've always been of the opinion that oc's should go in Original Anime, then they can label or tag what anime they're supposed to be from. I've got my own oc(s) that I sometimes like to imagine in different shows, but I'll always put them in Original Anime since they are original characters with original stories (one would hope XD ). Oh, and you really handled yourself well with the less-than-stellar comment you received earlier, so props for that too. :3

However everyone is entitled to their own opinion so Making up these soulless copies of the "perfect" mate for an actual anime character, is only natural, but it's not all right to Spam the Anime sections, putting your little fictional characters on Anime sections here at theOtaku is only spamming it, you should only put them in the original anime section, unless there is actually a real character from the actual anime it should not be put in there. mmm i guess so, but hey just because you say something dosn't mean its going to get issued, just deal with it, flame them all you want, its not going to help. people did come to see FMA, people love it, so they make OCS but not all of them are bad. some are some arn't. so yup theres nothing you can kinda do about it. OCs are OCs. i see where you coming from thou, but its just true, cant get rid of them and what not. so just deal with it. just like there are evil people in the world, you gotta deal with it, its life i guess.
