You are right it is a nice pose, i'd find it awkward to draw but i think you did a good job getting all the proportions right and stuff. Yeah you do seem to have the hang of hands.

The shading on the one hand is really really good. It's got texture and everything so it does look like he's wearing gloves. Great job!
