thanks for the comment! well, i am a relative newcomer to anime/manga, so i decided to start with one of the 'classic ones.' but i agree, NGE really is 'the best!'
Her skin-tone and hair look correct. You have those colors down, so no worry there. The thing about Gainax is that they do seem to shift and alter their designs in subtle ways (Atleast, the earlier Gainax did this). It's not too noticeable, but if you watch the entire series of NGE you can see the character designs change as well. The outlines of their faces is quite noticeable, however, when you jump from the first couple of episodes to the later episodes near the end. And, of course, the designs seems to solidify in End of Eva. I'm not sure why they do this, but things like this don't go unnoticed by artist, hey?
