you know, every so often it's really great to just relax from the big masterpieces and paint something nice and simple. i love the colors you chose - they really pop out, but not to the point where it blinds you like some people do. :]

I draw a really rough sketch on the background layer, color in the background around the sketch, and then just go from there, all on one layer. Later on if I want to test something (in this case, the shoes) I make another layer and try it out.

I really like this- the contrast between seeing the brush strokes and the places with more solid color.
