I think the colors look amazing. There are a lot of things I just draw to draw and not give a crap about and it does show. I think I'm most passionate about my photography moreso now than I am about my drawings. Don't get me wrong, if I'm in the mood to draw I do draw lol.
I believe that drawing something you care about, and putting your heart into something are two different things, you can pour your heart out into anything, and a good artist will always pour his heart out onto the page, whether its just fan art, or a more professional piece. Take for example, learning how to draw, when one takes classes and learns how to draw, they have to do so much stuff they would rather not do, such as still lifes for me, however, they want to learn, and get better at drawing, so they pour their heart into that picture they are drawing, even though they don't give a hoot about their subject matter, it may be less enjoyable at times, but you learn to have fun with it, and soon your heart is in your work.
I believe that you must learn the rules before you can break them, even if you don't care about the rules, it will make you a better artist
Comparing this with your previous artwork, I would have to say this lacks your heart. Your technique was good, and it looks nice, but it doesn't have that flair that all of your other pieces have, it looks like a another well drawn but not so attractive fan art pieces that you find everywhere on this site. I think you should go and redraw this and put your heart into the next one, put your style and heart to this picture, I want to see that.
I hope what I wrote makes sense to you
I think its funny, you try to draw something you won't like, and everyone gives you such positive criticism
I can't tell if someone's heart is in something or not. Unless you said something, I wouldn't have known since it looks great. ^_^ I think so long as someone gets something out of a work of art, then it has succeeded, whether the artist put their heart into it or not.
So I would say drawing something that you didn't put your heart into, is a creative exercise in seeing if you can touch the hearts of others who like the chosen subject material. If you can do that, then it just makes you a better artist.
To tell the truth I don't really care if someone puts there heart into it or not. If it "wows" me or if it looks "cool" to me then I'll look at it. Its as simple as that.
Anyways, nice job on that Haku dragon. I watched that movie like a billion times.
I would much rather look at something someone put their heart into cuz if your hearts there than the work is gonna be inevitably better.
If I draw something which I love alot then Im gonna want to make the impression of that person or thing as beautfiful as possible.
I can't tell if people put their hearts into something or not. ^^ It looks really pretty to me, I think you did a great job! I guess people who draw stuff they don't like do it for practice? oO
This is kewl ^_^ I know you didn't put ur heart into it. It does seem less like somethin you would draw o.o But its still good none the less ^_^
*hugs and favs* XD I usually put my heart into everything I draw. ^_^ I hope it shows. XD LOLZ
I could tell before I read your commentary that you didn't put your whole heart into this, I don't know why though.
Maybe because they are not in touch with their true emotions? I know when i draw a lot of the time I'm not sure what I will draw before I do which impacts it, but also I almost never have the chance to draw when i feel the burning desire to put an idea to paper. By the time I finally get the chance I've lost my enthusiasm and it's evident in the work.

You lie! you said "When I draw something I put my heart into it literally" That's impossible unless you have little chunk of heart which sounds dangerous and possiblly deadly. So of course I'm going to assume you meant figuratively. And Maybe people draw things they don't care about because they know other people do and would rather make other people happy than themselves....
haku..... i didnt want chiharu and haku to part.. they shouldve been together.... TT_TT
u might not have put ur heart into this but this is amazing...
most artist are guilty to what u stated.. no hearts.. no passion.. but sometimes, it helps to overcome the boredom.. like i didnt put any effort into something but people appreciate it.. like it.. love it.. how much more if i make something with my heart splat onto the paper.. XD doing such only relieves the artist from the tension and stress.. but sometimes, even though u put ur heart into it, most people wont feel anything and think that its the same as not putting effort.. like effortless.. ugh.. just as when u did ur best..! XD
some artworks, though we think they're just goofing off, are in fact one of the most respectable art pieces coz they had fun doing it.. i think thats the most important piece in an artist's heart.. love for drawing.. may it be just doodling, scribbling, or whatsoever... at least u enjoyed it.. people will still appreciate it no matter what coz u've put quite an effort, though not much, as long as the passion for drawing lives.. *banzai* =P
i dunno if my reasoning is right.. im just as guilty as everyone else.. XD
what i dont get are the votes.. hugs.... eehh.. i dont want to start a rant so im just gonna shut my mouth.. XD
As important as putting one's heart into a piece is... I think you can also increase your ability to do so by taking up projects like this. It looks great so heart or not, it's good practice. ^_^
whole heartedly over no pleasure at all for sure!!!
emotion makes a picture complete.....
mmm....i agree with everyone, this is really awesome and i love haku but really, isn't it funner if you draw soemthing you put your heart into? its no fun if the artist has no fun D:
o.o crayola pencils because I am cheap xD which is exactly what a bird says when it's flying over K-Mart. "CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP"
hehehe just kidding
This is positively gorgeous, and I aggree that the whole heart should be put into each and every piece of art. Sadly, I am guilty as charged as I have posted a few things myself that I did not care for nor did I put any effort to. That is certainly a difference between the levels of art. More people love your art because you can tell that there was effort and love placed in each individual piece. After all, it is that determination and tender patience that brings out the artwork's true beauty. I think most of us forget this, and pressure ourselves just to get something done rather than to enjoy doing it.
Haha, sorry, I began to ramble. This piece truly is gorgeous!
Hakuuuuuuuuuuuuu! I think this is beautiful... Wow. I can see you put a lot of effort into your art... Sometimes it isn't easy to tell how much others put into their art though, everyone is at different stages in the learning curve...

I love this, especially with that peachish color. It's very complementary to the whole piece! Great job, Jae! *hugs*
P.S. Did you mean "Endurance"? I'm just wondering.
