I think it looks good, *places the original next to your pic* I like the way you painted the sky-line on the left ^^

oh my gosh, i would love to try this! i think you should hold a matte challenge in the future - you could give a certain photo and see who can make the best painting out of it! :]

i love the details that you added to the picture - it was so hard to tell what was painted and what was photo that i had to put the two pictures side-by-side to compare!

i love how you made nyc look like a futuristic fantasy city without making it too dreamlike and unreal. i want to live in that big tower to the left.

*goes to work on finding a picture to paint* :D

i saw someone doing a matte painting in art class the other day... i'm not a fan of doing work over other images, but that's just me. there's some amazing artists on dA who do work like this without the matte part or w/e, you should def check them out.
nice work, hope to see some without painting over in the future :3 this is still awesome tho, dont get me wrong

I was interested in matte painting but didn't really know how its done, I just know there's a lot of city, town matte paintings. When you said its kinda a paint over, I'm still really impressed you did this in 2 hours with those kind of details! It seems like a good way to learn about lighting and perspective. You have a good sense of observation. :)
