That's so cute. I tried to do a Shugo Chara thing for easter but I messed up and made it into something else.....a stripey red egg (How was I supposed to know it was red? The water was pink! PINK!)
My dad hates anime, but I read them anyway. In the mall, the first thing I head to is Borders/Books-a-Million sometimes Hot Topic or that video stote, maybe an ice cream place.
I know exactly what you mean! I personally love getting those 'stares'- I think it's one of the best things about public cosplay (from my few experiences-and I know I spelled that wrong O__O). People will stare at you and they'll point, but it's the best part, especially when you actually take the time to answer questions like what you're wearing and why you're wearing it.
My parents think it's funny.....or weird, I can't really tell. ._.'''
lol! People just don't understand. I think its fun cosplaying. You get to spend so much time making an outfit until its perfect and then you get to show it off to people! Even if they think you're weird, its the best part. My friend and I, if we don't have any full cosplays with us, we wear our Kuroneko and Kon cosplay hats. Then we count the random stares. Some people are liek "Cool! Where'd you get those hats?" (Surprisingly more older people ask that than younger people. Most of the young people either make cat sounds at us or laugh at us. But we don't care. We just look at them and laugh.)
Oh. I kinda feel a little more greatful now....and I take it they won't let you go to a con, or...? >__>
My parents.....um, how do I put this....Uh, they know how much more horribly, HORRIBLY painfully it would be to put me into Aberzombie and Witch then to take away something like even looking at Naruto shirts.
You're so lucky! The only time I ever cosplayed in public was when I was at this con with my older brother, and before we were going to the Vic Mignogna panel, we left to go to this mall and we ate at the food court there...and I was dressed up like Edward Elric. There was a mom with her baby in a stroller that actually LEFT the LINE when these two girls ran up and hugged me-they'd been at this con too, and they saw my Edward cosplay, so...it was hilarious. They were like, "OMG HI!!" and hugged me, and ran off to go back to the con. I was like, ";-; Yeah that was random."
I know all too well how that feels. Except my parents absolutely hate anime. My mom would rather dress me up like the girls in Aeropostle or the ones in a Macy's catalogue then see me in Hot Topic looking at Naruto and Bleach shirts. But as long as a buy all my anime and manga with my own money and don't embarass them in public then they're semi-fine with it. Little do they know that I go cosplaying with my friends in public. :3 We're going to Applebee's in our Vocaloid cosplay sometime in the spring.
Ha! That's so creative!
I think I know what I'm going to do with my eggs this year. X3 And I won't tell anyone it's from an anime, either. I like my family thinking I'm at least a little bit normal.
But I kind of know how you feel, with the whole parents-against-anime-thing. My parents aren't against it, because they are glad that I have something that I really like, and they know I'd rather sit in Barnes & Noble all day and read backwards comic books and that I wouldn't be doing anything stupid...*cough*likesometeenagersdo*cough*
:3 But still.
They're just afraid that I'm going to be looking at something I shouldn't....do you know what I mean? My mom will always flip through a new manga I buy before I get to really read it or she won't let me buy it. ;-; So sometimes I'm just like, "Oh don't worry I've read it before and it's okay for my age." *cough*FullmetalAlchemist*cough*
>__> Sorry. I sorta rambled there. ^^'';
You should just do it anyway. If you have 3 eggs, some boiling water, and an extra egg coloring thing from last year, then you should be able to. (You need a black marker too) It took me about 45 min-1 hour though. And be sure to outline in pencil. Then you can erase. The Clubs are the hardest.
I knew lots of people were probably going to do that! Besides, Shugo Chara pretty much is an Easter anime. XP With all the eggs and the Easter antagonist.
